THE APOSTLE JOHN
One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at the table at Jesus’s side, so Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking. John 13:23
When Jesus saw His mother there, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Dear woman, here is your son.” John 19:26
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” John 21:7

JOHN’S IDENTITY WAS FOUND IN JESUS We love Him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

JOHN’S PERSONALITY WAS CHALLENGED BY JESUS.
James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder). Mark 3:17
As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival. But the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem. When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, “Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up?” Luke 9:51-54
