I got scammed once on a few 2021 American Silver Eagles - it happens to the best of us. I didn't realize it until I bought a real ASE a few months later and noticed the difference. Thanks for sharing your experience. It is a stark reminder for all of us who get too comfortable and let our guard down.

Happens to the best of em man. As far as I know I haven't got fakes but I normally always go through the online bullion sites and coin shops but I've heard of ppl even getting fakes from them. I guess when they deal with thousands of ounces it's bound to happen sometime. I've honestly been scared away from buying Morgan's off eBay lately because all the horror stories. It definitely pays to know how to identify them.

Ebay is definitely a place where you really gotta take a chance.

That’s terrible. Sorry to hear you got scammed. Yeah, it shouldn’t come in underweight. Your video serves as a reminder to all of us to stay vigilant when purchasing precious metals.

This comment was made before I even watched the video then when I saw that he pretty much covered both of the least expensive methods. I decided to just let it go and hopefully it will give some people a good perspective on how to check your coins and see if they are real. One way to check and see if it’s real, is to check its weight first, then use the pinger test. It only costs about $30 and it comes with two coins, one real and the other is fake, so you can get used to the different sounds. One other thing is to buy a metal testing kit. It’s not really expensive but sometimes you have to do it a couple of times to get down to the base metal that the coin is made of.
