Tottenham came closest to stopping Chelsea's chances and restoring Man City's. Chelsea scored an absurd 15 goals in their last three games but only a single against the Spurs.

I am a Chelsea fan. I agree with you. Chelsea have scorers all over the pitch and you rely on Shaw. We had Kerr Bright Fissle out for most of the season.

Exactly and still scored more goals than City. We also had our backup striker injured for some of the games too

In a title decided by goals, 19 of Chelsea's 25 outfield players contributed at least one goal versus only 11 of City's 22 who took the field. Neither team had a fit top scorer towards the end of the season but City's (Shaw) had been responsible for 36.2% of their goals while Chelsea's (James) had scored 20% of theirs. So City had more of their eggs in their basket than Chelsea did in theirs when both broke. Chelsea "bottled it" against Liverpool arguably more than City, who were missing over a third of their fire-power, then did against erstwhile title rivals Arsenal, a top team who capitalised on a couple of minutes' loss of focus. I would argue that Chelsea bottled it again by only beating a presumably tired and deflated Spurs 1-0, since City could be deemed more likely to gap mid-table Villa on the final day than Chelsea were likely to gap the same buoyant United who had recently knocked them out of the FA Cup and gone on the win it with ease. I daresay City showed up at Villa Park reasonably confident until 10 minutes in, which may be the point where accusations of bottling it might apply. It's tempting to suggest City, now with nothing to lose, should have thrown on all their attacking options but the scarcely believable fact is there was only one goal in the dugout. Only Leila Ouahabi, who did eventually come on with 25 minutes to go, was sat on the City bench with a WSL goal to her name. On the other hand, Chelsea had enough confidence in their multiple goal threats to voluntarily start their final game without any of their 3 top scorers on the field of play. The only City starters likely to score on Saturday were the ones that did score; the rest combined had scored 14 goals in 21 games. So although City arguably had the best keeper in Keating, the best holding midfielder in Hasegawa and the best striker in Shaw, they needed to be less reliant on the latter for their goals. Miedema should be a no-brainer unless her sights are set elsewhere.

City were five minutes away from having one hand on the WSL trophy against Arsenal. FIVE MINUTES.... and they blew it. they absolutely bottled it.

Manchester city don't know how to perform under pressure, unlike chelsea

If they bottled it then we can't give Arsenal and Liverpool a pass because they would be considered king bottlers.

Man City definitely bottled it, Chelsea had a lot of players out injured during the season, but just got on doing what they do best, City Manager needs to stop the show ponying from certain players, also the standing on the ball taunting opponents/waisting time just get on and bury the game/opponents

No, unfortunately my favourite, Stina won it for Chelsea with her two late goals.

Honestly, zero respect for what City did and rather criticising them when they've had so many players leave or be injured in the last 2 season, yet they managed to compete for the title til the last game day. Disrespect is loud unfortunately.
