"Architects of your own downfall" "Sloppy in possession" "Coulda/shoulda/woulda done better" and on, and on, and on.... Lazy terms in lazy analysis. As a professional, when you reach these moments, you're doing the best you can. If they couldn't complete a pass or score a goal it's because they were prevented from doing so. Maybe the fans and starry eyed pundits can't accept it but, hopefully, the players are more realistic and understand what they need to work on regardless of the BBC Player of the Universe Award.
You had ABJ who runs at players but she will play the same players. When Earps comes back she will put her back in but I feel Earps is a spent force. She has played Chelsea 4 times and we have scored 20 goals against her.
HH is a much better keeper. While needing improvement her kicking game is a plus and gives something the others don't have. Hopefully, manager will stick with the enforced change. CB pairing is problem both AW & MB are struggling to get back to previous good form bonus there's only one Jess Carter.
France recovered well in the second half, one feels it could have gone either way. England struggled to deny/frustrate France. As you say. Regardless, Spain are a cut above everyone since their World Cup win. Psychologically, they get stronger as they concede!
I do not agree : Barcelona is not more dominant than OL. OL won 5 Times on 6 tries. OL has won5 of the last 6 meetings. Barça’s marketing is just stronger than that of OL. That’s all
As sad as this is for fans and the Arsenal women’s team & Apart from the obvious,Viv’s exceptional talent, it’s her genuine concern for the women who play the game at this level as a whole where she will make the most difference..this superficial set back is beyond her talent..that’s a given, she will be a great leader in the fight for what’s needed and what’s right in the women’s game..She will be the Joan of arc or the Boudica for the women and younger generation of girls of this game…She’s proven her worth as an Arsenal and international player, her true purpose is above and beyond a contract..pftt! She will shine her talent with whom ever she plays for..her true super power is she cares for the girls and women playing the game and isn’t afraid to speak about it..she will be the women’s games true Marta 💯..Love you Viv 🙏🏼
Nice to hear of " Iyemoja," a Yoruba word for the Queen of water 💧 and "Osun," which is also similar because of the influence of the slavery of the Yoruba people from Southwest of Nigeria. Nice to hear of this on the football in Brazil 🇧🇷.
The difference between both clubs is that at Barça they always promote coaches from within that understood and they have abundant coaches to take over. All their coaches have been there since the beginning of creation of the women’s team. Their next coach will be their current second assistant coach who is even more obsessed with tactics and winning. A former midfield player. Barça will look different next season with having a proper #9. Good luck to teams trying to get ball off from Barça possession attacking game next season. Those players are obsessed, crack and freaks 😂
4:08 Chelsea didnt nullify Caroline Graham Hansen (CGH), she was injured during the international break and forced to play in the semis against Chelsea, she wasnt at 100%, thats all. Remember last year's UWCL semifinals, she was decisive.
Russo so over rated Cannot understand why arsenal are letting viv meidema go Arsenal loss someone gain Hope she stays in wsl Best wishes viv meidema 🎉🎉🎉
it's crazy to think that viv is to arsenal what putellas is to barca and like just imagine if barca let her go for free after trying to come back from her acl set back? fans would riot lol. the complete disrespect to viv from arsenal's front office is insane in this situation, especially to not even offer her an extension. her rejecting their offer is one thing, but to not even make one? yikes. they better have a master plan up their sleeve this coming season or else they'll look like absolute buffoons and not only lose the trust of the fans but also the players. they do not want this one decision backfiring on them.
Why playing defensive. Bright, greenwood, cater n bronze would be fine. The problem is the upfront we ain't firing. The only threat is lj n she's injured. So dats our problem
In a way, the fact that Chelsea felt beforehand that they would need to win by a big margin probably made it easier, mentally for them. It drove them on relentlessly. If they went into that game just needing a narrow win, the mind set could have changed after going 1-0 ahead and it could have got nervy for them. As it turned out, Man City only won by a one goal margin themselves so 1-0 would have seen Chelsea as champs anyway.
@@englanduk6131 That was always going to be the accusation or that they'd been partying too much after the Cup Final. However, no team wants to get humiliated like that, especially in their own bigger main stadium. Ever since Man Utd got promoted to the WSL in 2019, they've only managed one draw and eight league defeats against Chelsea. This Chelsea team was on a mission and I don't think even a motivated Man Utd could have stopped them.
In Jonas’s defence viv was injury prone and arsenal as a club want younger players. If your 30+ years they will only offer you a 1 year contract, same goes with both male and female sides.
That would make sense if he hasn’t also brought in Lacasse and Hurtig. He plays Mead and Little a lot. He also is trying to bring Caldenty in who is that age. It likely is her injuries but she’s on the correct side of late 20’s early 30’s. You would think they would have tried to keep her.
"Injury prone"? a longer rehab than the usual ACL and nothing else. Jonas has no defense, with the quality of players we have I could coach arsenal to win the Conti Cup
This is what happens when you have access to too much talent, you end up disrespecting them all. This guy should be dismissed. The women's game deserves much better.
@@joyluke10 He should've gone last season , we keep winning games solely because of the talent we have. Pound for pound we have a better squad than Chelsea, should've have won the league this season
Viv was not fitting into the way the Manager wants to play, but we struggle to break the low block, and that's where Viv would have been particularly strong once back to full fitness next year. As such Viv provided us with a different option which is always good and now the risk is we will be more one dimensional!
Agreed. Jonas thinks he's running Real Madrid or Man City mens, where there is so much budget and depth of talent that you can cast aside a top player who 'doesn't fit'. There remains a serious gap between players like Viv, Beth Mead, Bunny Shaw, Sam Kerr... and the players at the lower clubs. Viv is *very* likely to be replaced by someone with far less ability (if it is Stina, he's already done that). He is arrogant to suppose his 'system' will produce so many more chances as to allow an inferior player to equal Miedema, let alone improve the results.
Honestly, zero respect for what City did and rather criticising them when they've had so many players leave or be injured in the last 2 season, yet they managed to compete for the title til the last game day. Disrespect is loud unfortunately.
Thank you Chloe for recognising the work that Arsenal have done for the league. Over 30% of the WSL & Championship record-breaking attendance was just Arsenal and it’s more than just making some snazzy social media content.
i keep hearing how could Jonas do this? you all know that Jonas has a boss right? Jonas doesnt own the team. it is in the realm of possibility that the owner didnt want to waste more money on an oft injured Viv. i know i know, the logic grates against all the unconditional love for Viv from the fans. come on people.
In a title decided by goals, 19 of Chelsea's 25 outfield players contributed at least one goal versus only 11 of City's 22 who took the field. Neither team had a fit top scorer towards the end of the season but City's (Shaw) had been responsible for 36.2% of their goals while Chelsea's (James) had scored 20% of theirs. So City had more of their eggs in their basket than Chelsea did in theirs when both broke. Chelsea "bottled it" against Liverpool arguably more than City, who were missing over a third of their fire-power, then did against erstwhile title rivals Arsenal, a top team who capitalised on a couple of minutes' loss of focus. I would argue that Chelsea bottled it again by only beating a presumably tired and deflated Spurs 1-0, since City could be deemed more likely to gap mid-table Villa on the final day than Chelsea were likely to gap the same buoyant United who had recently knocked them out of the FA Cup and gone on the win it with ease. I daresay City showed up at Villa Park reasonably confident until 10 minutes in, which may be the point where accusations of bottling it might apply. It's tempting to suggest City, now with nothing to lose, should have thrown on all their attacking options but the scarcely believable fact is there was only one goal in the dugout. Only Leila Ouahabi, who did eventually come on with 25 minutes to go, was sat on the City bench with a WSL goal to her name. On the other hand, Chelsea had enough confidence in their multiple goal threats to voluntarily start their final game without any of their 3 top scorers on the field of play. The only City starters likely to score on Saturday were the ones that did score; the rest combined had scored 14 goals in 21 games. So although City arguably had the best keeper in Keating, the best holding midfielder in Hasegawa and the best striker in Shaw, they needed to be less reliant on the latter for their goals. Miedema should be a no-brainer unless her sights are set elsewhere.
