Up until last year, Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Bimbert stayed with her husband Jayson despite him physically & sexually abusing their kids because she couldn't afford to support herself on just her Congressional salary.

Some Mothers are very hesitant to disrupt their children's lives.

She could have been taking drugs, for example antidepressants and benzos. She would also have feared rejection from her family and friends if she had left her husband. It's even worse with people who have 'good moral values'. All the 'therapists', 'counsellors', 'psychiatrists' and of course the priests in the area where I grew up focused on 'keeping the family together', 'forgive and forget' etc. We had psychiatrists, psychologists and the like coming to my Roman Catholic school to give us lectures against divorce. I've recently come across a dismal femicide case in France, Jonathan Daval and Alexia Daval. Looking at Facebook and such they were an extremely happy couple, they had met when they were 20 and 16 respectively, quickly became a couple, and eventually married when they were 31 and 27. They both had good, permanent white collar jobs, no money problems whatsoever, they went on nice holidays (they had honeymooned in the Pacific), drove nice cars, they also owned a big house (which had belonged to Alexia's grandmother) with a swimming pool, which they were renovating, the only issue they had was that Alexia struggled to conceive. Jonathan beat her up and strangled her to death one night, then took the body to a wood nearby and tried to set it on fire. The body was found 2 days later. The 'gendarmerie' waited for 3 months to charge him for murder, they wanted to have enough evidence. They did a sterling job of making the body talk, the GPS system of Jonathan's car also gave damning evidence, and the text messages Alexia had been sending her husband and other people were also incriminating. What struck me is that Alexia's family initially stodd by Jonathan, he had even moved in with his parents in law after the body was found. He managed to fool everybody, then, when he was charged with murder, he accused his brother in law of having murdered his wife in front of the whole family and of them having attempted to cover it up... In fact, he had probably premeditated the murder. He had also been drugging up his wife with Tramadol and Tetrazepam (Valium, which is banned in France) without her knowledge, maybe he was hoping she would dir from respiratory depression during her sleep? Appearances can be really misleading.

Brilliant. Very well put. He did it. No doubt in my mind. He also had an incredibly hot temper and resentment issues. He'll do anything until the end of time to punish the people that charged him (and others that believe he's guilty) not out of being wronged but simply "messed" with. His lawsuits were without merit. He knew that he could screw with everyone because he could never be charged again. He's a really weird guy. I believe he's a narcissistic, hotheaded killer.

Karma catches up to us all though. It might not be instant. Sometimes it takes years. Some think lifetimes. Anyway, what goes around, comes around.

Not only that but people get away with murder whilst others are found guilty and are innocent.

Other people go to prison for crimes that they didn't commit

I have a theory that a few of the 9/11 victims, aren't really dead. They were unhappy with their lives, and used the event, to disappear. Difficult to pull off, for sure, but not impossible.

I did know a family, in our former church, who was approached to hide a woman and her kids from a violent partner. They did it. I don't know for how long but I guess he couldn't find her or the kids for whatever time period and he gave up. I think the woman was somewhat fortunate in the fact that she wasn't married to him and the kids weren't his.

This is what I was thinking too. She didn't have many options and he wasn't going to leave. He probably also threatened to take the kids and likely would have just for control. 😢

To go alongside that it always seems the legal system is much keener to find somebody guilty rather than spend any time eliminating them from the enquiry.

Sometimes you need a theory to discover evidence. It’s not that black and white. Prosecutors DO collect all the evidence before trial, but new things can come to light during trials. Sometimes prosecutors go for a trial with weak evidence because they don’t believe more will be obtained and at least want a shot at prosecuting the defendant. It’s better to take a shot in the dark sometimes than leave a murderer on the streets when there’s no expectation of further evidence coming to light.

To add on to your probable theory, it could be the steel worker didn't do it BUT in a state of panic burned anything he had of hers in fear of being suspected. That is of course, if he knew she was dead and wasn't the killer.

He did hire his own private investigator, the guy even wrote a book afterwards about all the evidence the court prevented the defense from using.

I never could quite wrap my mind on how the 2 adopted ones (daughters of the first stairfall woman) ended up with him. Like... Didn't they have a dad already? I thought the 2 couples were friends while stationed/working in Germany. Like didn't they live in base housing? Ah, I could be remembering incorrectly. My brain was so overloaded by all the other stuff going on I honestly don't think I was capable of taking that in. I do know that there were a ton of kids in that family. NO judge would cut her off financially with four children. If she was really filling for divorce any good attorney would have told her she held the cards. She liked it the way it was, she would had to give up her sex life to keep the children and leave him. She stayed for the sex, but not with him, or maybe with him, and others. People with less money than Cal get slapped with a grand a month per kid, she would probably have got more. There was really no reason to stay except for her lifestyle choices.

Hopeless misunderstanding. They didn't have retrials cos the state lost. The state won the first two. This was all explained in the video.
