I honestly never really got into Core because, when they were first revealed, I thought that they were the sets for the next season, but that didn’t end up happening. Then some of the ideas from Core, like the suits and other things, got added into the show via Dragons Rising. I didn’t know that Core was supposed to be a reimagining of older Ninjago sets because that’s just what they come off as to me. I don’t hate the idea of Core, I just never got into it, and Legacy was awesome.
The Core stuff was never meant to be a part of the show, I think Lego were initially going for a “make your own story” concept Also yeah, when you look at it from the angle of “old concepts, new takes”, you can see where a lot of the sets came from I also don’t hate the idea of core because it showed it could be amazing, they just needed to commit less to the EVO features, in my opinion… and legacy is awesome :D
what they should do, is release like 3 legacy remake sets along with new waves of sets, one small, on medium sized and one larger sized (like the stealth raider or mechs)
I do like the idea but I don’t think it would happen, feel like they’d either commit to the line completely or not at all Would be a fun bonus to every wave though
@@MyNameIsWeevie yea I guess, idk both core and legacy have potential, I myself own the Ninjago city gardens set and really.enjoy it, but haven't really had urge to buy any core sets,.I'd much rather buy all the 10 year anniversary Ninjago figured
@@roandejong6220 Core and Legacy definitely have a lot left to give, but who knows if we’ll see it I own some core sets and they’re honestly fine, depending on which you have, would recommend checking them out at least, also yea, the 10th anniversary figures are amazing to get
Some of the Core Sets are based off sets in some seasons 1. Lloyds race car EVO is based off Lloyds car in Season 8 2.Ninja combo Mech is based on PIXALS Mech in Crystallized Also Zane and Nya Didnt get Legacy TOE suit as they never Competed in the Tournament
Thanks for pointing the car out because I forgot to include that in my script lmao but I believe the combo mech existed before crystallised so the show used it as a reference Also I pointed out Nya and Zane not getting the ToE legacy suits cause Lego aren’t strangers to making non canon suits (Zane already has a non canon ToE minifigure but it’s styled like the original design) Hope this help rationalise why I pointed it out but I appreciate comment :D
It certainly left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths, some of the sets in the completed form are alright and that’s how I judged them in the video just a strange all concept all round
You know what? Right now is the best time to introduce legacy for seasons 5 & 6 & 7, just because of the new hood pieces. Hell, i would say they put legacy on hold just to have a proper reason to make new mask pieces, and now they have. P.s: i would argue about the detail of legacy vs core, simply because legacy was a re-imagination while core is new ideas just thrown out the window.
Never thought about applying the new masks to older suits.. that’s actually genius (I want Season 5, 6 and 7 legacy sets so badly) Also a lot of Core’s sets are pre existing concepts like legacy, but core completely redesigns them to make them unique, so younger fans can craft their own stories from them. Legacy’s imagination links them back to where they originated. But I do get where the argument comes from
@MyNameIsWeevie yeah man, the moment i saw these new mech pilot masks, my mind instantly clicked and said "one slight recolor & that would actually be perfect legacy deepstone mask"
@@greybound362 all I want now is the new masks on deepstone suits, you could kinda do it for Jay now with his new Evil minifigure but the blue is a little too dark You could use the Kai, Jay and Lloyd’s masks on the honour robes
seriously wish Legacy stuck around so we got more Possession sets and some Skybound sets also one thing i disagree w/ you on is the Legacy Eyezor figure i hate that thing with a passion. all the other villains look good but Eyezor looks so lame and he was the only anacondrai cultist figure we got
More possession and getting some skybound sets would’ve been great I do get why you don’t like the Eyezor minifigure cause I prefer the original, but I don’t think it’s the worst thing to exist,
I wholeheartedly agree and support with your point on this, but the main issue we seem to forget is LEGO (being a corporation and all) is hell bent on making money. While they are well aware of how popular the show is they would rather make mediocre sets and have them canonized than to remake classic beloved sets and make them better because they know people are gonna buy them because of the show. As someone who deeply loved Legacy, I’d say the best we can do is to vote with our wallets and make them aware we want it back but with better sets this time. I don’t understand why they keep making lame sets then slap Legacy on it, literally just make them good like the first wave then they should be fine.
Love your thoughts on this, and you’re fully right, Lego will always follow where the money is and core is the definition of it, a lot of kid appeal but it did have some instances of what older fans enjoy. We do need to vote will our wallets and that’s why I don’t own much of core. I loved legacy a lot as well and I supported the line, hopefully people who agree with us did the same. You’re also right with wanting more like wave 1, cause most of my attention was there Thanks for your insight though, was great to read
