What's the longest time you have left a pot out and found something in it ? ....any rock or harbour fishing this autumn?
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 2 дня назад
Just a few weeks. Most unattended pots of my scale would not survive the winter storms out where we are. Shore fishing is on the cards weather permitting. I also picked up a bunch of new underwater gear for filming. So I hope to improve on that.

Now that's a big one. I bet there have been some monsters in the past even maybe a few that are just too big for the pot necks.

Look how hard it is to pull those pots into the boat with the rope tied to the top, its far easier to get the pots into the boat with the rope tied to the bottom and the rope won't get cut on the seabed because you've already got the all roped.
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman День назад
We pulled these pots in more tide than we normally would. You may think it looks difficult but its actually very easy. I used to pull all my pots by hand so rope them to make it as easy as possible to pull them into the boat as explained in another video. The rope tied to the bottom does wear over time it also increases the chance of snagging in the rocks along with tipping your pot forward giving the lobsters a better chance at darting out on the way up especially on pots with no traps.

..it’s always a concern no life jackets.....
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman День назад
Life jackets are great for body recovery but wont do you much good out there that's why we use flotation jackets a far better option.

How much longer will you keep the pots out
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman День назад
They are coming in now but we will keep some in while the boats still in the water and if good weather after maybe a few reachable with the dinghy.
