Day 41 of the FindUsCamping Crawl took a dramatic turn at Our Wyoming Life, a Harvest Hosts location. What started as a typical camping adventure quickly escalated when we spotted smoke rising from a field across the street. Within minutes, the smoke thickened, signaling an intense fire that demanded immediate action. We alerted our hosts, who had just been informed of the situation and already contacted the fire department. Watching the fire department spring into action was intense, but knowing we had done our part brought a sense of relief.
With the excitement behind us, we decided to check out the highly recommended Pizza Carrello in Gillette, Wyoming-and it did not disappoint! After satisfying our long-standing craving for great pizza, we returned to the RVs for a relaxing evening, reflecting on the day's unexpected adventure.
The next morning brought a refreshing change of pace with a farm tour at Our Wyoming Life. We learned about the animals, explored the greenhouses, and wrapped up our visit by stocking up on fresh local meats from their store. It was a day full of excitement, learning, and great food-one we won’t soon forget!
