If I were a Bazillionaire I'd restore churches and cemeteries...great vid. Being a Farmer is incredibly hard and takes a tough kind of person. My Dad was born to an Oklahoma Farming family during the Dust Bowl and they STAYED. Tough stoic people doesn't even begin to cover it! Thanks!
It's kinda sad how we say respect the dead and don't walk over graves and yet let them crumble, get overgrown, use stones as paving, it's really sad it me, like one time I was at Llandaff Cathedral and some graves were practically impossible to get to without climbing through so much foliage and stuff, it's sad how many graves get forgotten :(
Hello from New Orleans Louisiana. I just started watching your videos. Now I can't stop I absolutely love your walks. So peaceful. 😊 I admire your content.😊
Hi Brenda from Arkansas, USA here. I’m interested in Cemetery exploration. I enjoyed your walk through. The damaged graves are sad. Unfortunately, families die off, move away or just don’t care anymore. It happens to graveyards all over the world, I suppose. I’m physically disabled and have difficulty clearing my family’s graves. I’m the only one in the family who still cares. I’m impressed by the emblems, artwork and beautiful lettering on the stones in the video. I thought it was Medusa too, but no snakes. Wow, the views are amazing ❤. 😊
Brenda if you like cemetery exploration, haunted ones, i know of one close to Pea Rde Arkansas that is made up of about 10 cemeteries that were relocated when Bull Shoals lake was filled. If interested ill give you more details. Im from Branson mo btw
William Wrigley was the American founder of Wrigley gum. He founded the gun in 1891 in Chicago, IL, USA. This is why I love your channel. Thank you for being very informative
I love this churchyard and church. I haven’t seen so many graves lying down since I visited Haworth...it’s so relaxing and peaceful walking around here with you.👍
I so enjoy your videos, and the reverence that you have for the places you visit. This episode highlights how incredibly unbelievable it is that you have managed not to break an ankle in some of these cemeteries. Stay safe as you continue your journeys.
That little room was probably for coal. When the cemetery first started there must have been a lot of grave robbers around. That was the whole purpose of tabletop headstones. To keep the bodies IN and the grave robbers OUT.
Often an area can be bigger than a flashlights beam strength....I found this out in a GIGANTIC abandoned warehouse, the beam was only good for about 10 yards... The warehouse was about 3 football fields long. Being (about) 4 ft. from the door I left quickly.
Always interesting. I live just outside of Chicago, so the Wrigley's are well known here. I was just in the British Isles, and have enjoyed watching you walk the same cemeteries we visited. Still amazed at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial!
What a glorious place to spend eternity! It's a wonderful part of the world. Isn't it sad to note how many small children's gravestones there are from the Victorian and earlier periods in history? Parents had large families but with the expectation of losing some of them long before they reached adulthood. Thanks so much for explaining the symbolism of the tree with a cross on one stone. It did seem a little out of place for one so young. Further reading by me showed it can also mean immortality, so maybe that's why it was chosen. I was fascinated by the grave with the Heath Robinson arrangement of plastic bottles, solar lights and dinosaurs! As much as the adornments, the separate little added inscription to Dennis Edwards(?) who it seems died in 2016. Maybe he was the dinosaur fan? Had the grave been hijacked to provide a little memorial to him? A truly lovely 'dead good walk'!
Word that came to mind is Jumbled :) Arches and keyholes are symbolic of passing through the veil. Portal between earth and afterlife. Freestanding, arched around tombstones, arched over church doors and windows, are all references to this. Having a cross in the center of an arch is clear indicator that this person 'went to heaven through Christ'. Love this graveyard. Some seem to have a much more peaceful energy about them than others.
I have a question. If the church was built in 1756, why are all the headstones dated for almost 100 yrs after being built? None from the 1700's? I enjoy walking thru the cemeteries with you!! So peaceful.
Look into tartaria, churches were built for places of healing, not many churches have bells in them now as the frequency from them healed,we have all had this stolen from us history is a lie
Hi I have a photo of myself taken by my son in the graveyard at Heights Church something was making me very unwelcome you can see a strange blur above my head it was very uncomfortable. If you let me have your email address I will send you the photo.
That cemetery is crammed full of graves. It's all beautiful, but I've NEVER seen gravesites packed so close to one another. Enjoyed your video. Thank you. Take care ✝️
Was it a crypt or could it be a holy well would a country crypt go that deep them old churches were often on catholic monastery grounds before the reformation But still I love ❤️ you work God Bless I say ask locals
Love the countryside, Dan, although I don’t know how you manage not to injure yourself in places like this. I really like your conversational style, but I find myself constantly fighting the urge to reply to you, forgetting that you can’t hear me! Keep up the great work!
Love Delph Heights, please do a video on the Bill O Jacks Gravestone at St.Chads in Saddleworth not far from there, the inscription has always fascinated me!
His torch was a Chinese special with 5 lumens tops. It was terrible. I have a 2200 lumen flashlight that can shine a couple hundred yards. There is no way anything will block that light.
This cemetery was not peaceful if you heard the voices. There are a couple of women spirits there who wanted him badly. I can't even describe the things they said.
What a peaceful environment and a beautiful view. Also some nice graves and it is indeed a picture of Medusa. I think the church is a bit creepy. Thank you Martha
The chewing gum company was from Chicago, Illinois particularly and it was WRIGLEY. It was a bonus given to the ladies when they bought soap from the traveling salesman
there are about three or four headstones on a hill beside a roadway where i live and it is unkept and you can see it better in the fall and winter since the leaves on the trees are absent...i want to go see who they were and when they passed away now.
I'm reeaallllly sorry, but I have to be that person for a sec! Table top tombs are usually a slab up on 4 legs. The graves you read for us in here are called box or chest tombs. That church did not feel very nice. Thank you for the walk. Deb of Oz.
So I went down a rabbit hole again. Horatio Nelson Gartside was a member of the Gartside Family are thought to have owned land in Friarmere since the dissolution of the monastery’s in the 16th century and lived at Friarmere Lodge. Horatio is buried in the same cemetery. His was one of the tall ones with the cross on top, there was a few I saw in the vid. Someone was a fan of Horatio Nelson I suppose.
I'm guessing because its on a hill the church itself has a very large crypt, and all crypts have to have a vent to vent out the methane and cumulation of digestive gases. I almost want to say that little building on the side is the receiving end where bodies are lowered in aside from going in from the middle of the church. So you're likely pointing into a vertical shaft... that may have long been abandoned for that purpose. So to what's intermittently blocking it, I have no explanation for that
May I recommend a little known cemetery if you're ever in Liverpool. Walton city farm. It's not very big but worth a visit. Robert Tressels grave is there, a lot of the graves are just lying down in the woods 👍
...it's not in each european country the same, culture and traditions and at least the the religion...catholic and so on...made a sometimes big differences...
@@deadgoodwalks my family is from Penzance. I’m second generation American now living in North Carolina. I had the privilege of visiting Penzance for a couple of weeks a few years ago. Was able to get down around Lands’ End. It was all so breathtaking!
(Part 2) 11:51 You mentioned the church is haunted and a voice said "a wraith make it home." 11:57 "A wraith." 11:59 "I am... her man." 12:02 "Damn!" (very loud) 12:30 "My mom wants you." 12:40 "Mine, going forward." 12:42 "Go back and tell him." (very clear) 12:44 "Go back with him." 12:47 "What's that mean?" 12:49 "Look at him. He's mine!" 12:50 "Nothing!" 12:54 "Look at his d__k" (LOL. These spirits are dirty.) 12:56 "It's massive!" 13:00 "Watch them!" (very loud) 13:47 "F__king d__k!" 13:49 "Come back" 14:00 "Manchu d__k" 14:02 "Maybe on Tuesday." 14:05 "Perfect." 14:10 "I can see him." 14:12 "I hate you." 14:20 "Lay off my man!" 14:34 "Walk!" (very loud) 14:36 "I am!" 15:00 "Back off." 15:16 "Take off... building." 15:18 "Okay." 15:19 "Forget William." (loud) 15:21 "F__k William!" (loud) 15:57 "F__k me." 15:58 "You're perfect." 16:28 "I want you." 16:32 "We race.. a furlong." 16:34 "You're on!" 16:35 "What is a furlong?" 16:36 "One eighth mile." 16:39 "I run furlong in the shower." 16:42 "Enough furlong." 17:58 "Slept through it." 18:17 "She wants you!" (very clear) 18:18 "We want you." 18:56 "Run along." 18:57 "I want his bride." 19:26 While trying to shine a light inside, it said "human.. get away from here" (very faint) 19:33 You were wondering why the torch wasn't working. It said, "can't view... her hand." 19:49 "Thank you." 20:02 "Her hand.. her hand." 20:06 "Maybe her hands were blocking it." 20:09 "Her hands blocked it." (very loud) 20:11 "Her hands." 20:13 "Her hands." 20:23 "Her hands did it." 20:26 "She didn't do it. Phil did it." 20:38 "Momma Sloop(?) can." 20:53 "Wrap it up." 22:57 "Thanks you come... Church of the heaven." right when you close the gate.
@@pisswobble1571 Sure it does, Mr Troll. Especially with low batteries, Mr Troll. You should replace yours, hey? Also creates a flashing effect when passing over a shiny object or a mirror. @@catchloe1989 It wasn't a demon. It was "Phil." At first, the other spirits thought the female wraith inside was doing it, but then another spirit said that "Phil" was the one who blocked the light with his hand. Phil is probably the other spirit who was following him in the graveyard earlier and admitted that he was the wraith's man. 11:51 You mentioned the church is haunted and a voice said "a wraith make it home." 11:57 "A wraith." 11:59 "I am... her man." 12:02 "Damn!"
