As a Coyotes fan, it’s difficult for me not to think the lottery is rigged. We’ve been ass for over a decade and have never gotten the first overall pick.

The rule is you can move up 10 spots. They also moved it to where only the first 2 picks are lottery picks as opposed to 3 in the past. So for first their are 11 teams and for second their are 12 teams.

I would never want the NFL to do a lottery. I don't think it's needed. Tanking isn't a big deal in the NFL. It's hard to get 52 men to agree to put out bad tape on themselves and potentially lose out on future paydays. Players, Coaches, and GMs are always one bad season from getting fired.

Fun fact, a team in the pacific time zone has never drafted first overall in the NHL during the lottery era. There’s 6 pacific time zone teams, 7 if you count Arizona that splits between pacific and mountain time

Since McDavid went to the Edmonton Oilers, a Western Conference team in the NHL has not won a single lottery for first overall pick. Last time I checked there were 16 teams in the East and 16 in the West. Run the odds on that and it is astronomical. Especially when you include the odds for all the New York state and New Jersey teams lottery wins.

Al’s red wings fans how they feel about the draft like foxy we have never moved up since we’ve been rebuilding 2016 . We have dropped when we had the best odds and when we didn’t it’s either dropping spots or staying put.

It's a weighted lottery, the lower you finish the more balls you get, pretty sure you can't get 2 picks, if I'm not mistaken in the McDavid Eichel draft Buffalo finished last but the Oilers picked first because of the lottery. Stupid headline really stupid but I guess you guy's are going to ESPN good luck with that.

It's funny that people genuinely think the NHL, or any league for this matter, would actually rig something like a draft lottery. The risk of it being exposed and ruining the integrity of the league forever does not outweigh sending the player to a big market, or whatever reason may be.

NHL and NBA lottery is chosen by the size of the market. The bigger the market the better the lottery odds.

Also the Hawks did not tank the season. The GM said day one he was hired that they were going to do a full on rebuild. The GM did exactly what he said he was going to do starting last year trading players for draft capital. 3 1st rd picks last year. They traded more players this year for draft capital. Next 4 years 7 1st rd 10 2nd rd and 6 3rd rd picks. Regardless of the top pick this year the GM did what he said he was going to do. Gut the team for a rebuild. That is why Kane wanted out last year.

All this Rigged Stuff is a bunch of Crap. The NHL runs it literally like a Pick 4 Ping Pong ball Lottery game. The NHL actually films the draft pick process which is different from the Lottery Draft TV production. Every Team is randomly assigned 4 number combinations pre ping pong ball drop. It is monitored by representatives from both NHL teams and the press. It is impossible for the NHL or any team to determine how the ping pong balls are going to draw.

Kane gone, Debrincat gone, Toews is unsure..in a big market like Chicago..why wouldnt the NHL rig it to put another franchise player in Chicago after their star players are gone, and we dont see the actual process of the lottery when we saw the bingo balls for the 2020 draft. who once again, fed the first overall who was supposed to be a franchise player, goes to a huge market in New York.

I love people who claim “the league is rigged!” Just the logistics that would go into trying to rig games make no sense. Not only does the ball STILL have to go into the net for a shot to count, but even if they somehow rigged for shots to go in or not, do people honestly think that tens of thousands of people who work for sports leagues would ALL keep quiet about it? People are attention seekers. And whoever it is that does expose the league would be famous af. And it’s not like the league could sue you for exposing because the federal law stats that games that allow bets to be made on them can’t be rigged. So they can’t sue you if their doing something illegal. It’s just illogical to think leagues are rigged. And any argument in favor of it being rigged has a much more logical counter argument as to why it being rigged wouldn’t work.

It wasn't rigged they released the video of the actual draw. There were reporters in the room as well as reps from two teams, and a law firm conducted the draw. The results were done before three hours before the TV presentation. Do a few seconds of searching and you will see the actual draw.
