@@jonathanhouser8194 Its a keyboard warrior they never do. Fact is the SEC like every conference and league in football goes through a process to make sure the refs have no ties to either team. Its why when 2 out of conference teams meet in regular season or playoffs its always refs from a conference neither are in.

Yes. These problems constantly (and “mysteriously”) surround the texas program. I thought these days were behind us and this is why I have ZERO interest in renewing the rivalry. Like a bad GF, I just want them out of my life.

The call against KJ Bolden in the end zone was just as bad as the reversed call
@cragre28
@cragre28 4 часа назад
1. the play was not reviewable but it wasn't PI. I've also seen UGA players called for less. 2. There should have been a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty on Texas for hundreds of objects being thrown. This wasn't just a couple of random fans, and players and other fans were hit and hurt. 3. The play they reviewed when Etienne clearly crossed the goal line before being down was a blown call. Luckily Etienne scored 2 plays later, which actually benefited the Dawgs because it ran more clock off, but if UGA doesn't score there, that could have handed Texas the game. 4. The targeting on Dan Jackson was legit, but the one on Aguero was not. He hit with the side of his helmet to the runner (not defenseless player) who lowered his head and caused a helmet to shoulder hit. 5. There an obvious hold on Texas in the end zone when Ewers completed a long pass to get them out of the 5 yard line.
@FrostTyler
@FrostTyler 4 часа назад
Just so you know. The rules for targeting were changed this off-season. It doesn't matter if the player is defenseless anymore. If the crown of your helmet hits the shoulder area and up on a ball carrier, then it's targeting. Both calls were the correct calls. He didn't hit with the side of his helmet it was clearly crown.

@FrostTyler unless they changed this part of the rule too. If the runner is the cause which he definitely was of the helmet /crown contact it is not supposed to be called as the defender literally has no control over that.

@keenej8

Bro at the time it very well could’ve saved them..3rd quarter to make it a one score game. That’s literally how massive momentum shifts happen in football. Exactly how Georgia lost to bama in the national championship in 2018 and the SEC championship last year, both due to bad calls that swung the pendulum of the entire game the other way. There’s always gonna missed calls or bad calls in games but what has consistently happened the past 5 years or so is terrible calls in pivotal moments which absolutely degrades the game of college football.

GA’s offense was very bad. The refs were definitely leaning TX on 50/50 calls. And GA still won by 15. Think about that.

Georgia literally was getting away with holding 90% of the time even kirk literally said "they got away with a hook there on the edge" I'm not saying Texas should have won but 2 obvious targeting penalties and 1 they absolutely missed was not "leaning towards TX"

gA’s offense was bad or the Texas defense is really good. GA scored almost all their points on short fields. The only long drive of the night was from a truck play. My point is give the Texas Defense some credit. That’s like me saying the Texas Offense was awful, which they were, but that’s taking credit away from Georgia’s defense. See how that works? So which is it?

There were two or three times the refs obviously tried to help Texas get back in the game late, but even with their help Texas wasn't good enough to pull it off. Georgia is clearly the best team in college football and I predicted they would win by 5. At least we now know that if the fans are upset with a call they can throw beer can on the field and the refs will overturn the call, right?

Texas was over-rated from the start. The SEC head shed gave them a soft SEC schedule only throwing GA in there to make it a legit looking schedule. Then they plan the game as a home game for Texas on F1 grand Prix weekend. Texas historically does not play a Home game that weekend but they planned it this way to limit the amount of hotel rooms that were available for traveling GA fans to discourage attendance. Then they allow the head ref to officate the game knowing he has a son attending Texas University which is blatantly against SEC rules. This whole shit show with Texas coming to the SEC is all about big money and the SEC head shed is killing themselves to ensure Texas is not totally embarrassed in this league. That Big Oil money is barking and the SEC bosses are eating it up. They are throwing their own flagship schools under the bus to get at it too. It is vomit inducing. The officiating in that Texas vs GA game was so blantantly favoring Texas you had to be a Texas fan or toally blind not to see it ........ and they still got gut stomped. I would not be surprised if Texas lost 2 more SEC games this season but it wont be for the lack of the SEC headshed tilting things in Texas's favor. Look for more officiating shennaigans to come.

Once, college football was as is our judicial system - with presidence being the cornerstone upon which all all else stood. That cornerstone was shattered by an steel sledge hammer by referies who seemingly were cowarded by the ridiculous actions of an unruly mob numbering in the tens of thousands. I beleive anyone not having the courage to stand tall in the face of adversity should be told to seek employment elsewhere.

I keep seeing people complaining, "PI isn't reviewable." To make it clear, the call wasn't reviewed, it was discussed. It's unfortunate the way that discussion came about, but what the refs did was 100% correct procedurally. It's funny that y'all were talking about the SEC and gov't saying look over there while we do something you don't agree with over here. But that is exactly what you're doing...looking at the distraction of bottles thrown on the field instead of understanding the correct processes was taking place.

Texas Alum here. Not arguing about the fans reaction. It was wrong. I do find it funny the way Kirby is acting about it. his righteousness is a l little laughable considering his behavior a week ago.. Was Kirby Smart and UGA fined for pushing the Miss St. player? Kirby didn’t get a flag. If a player pushes a player they get a flag. A coach pushing a player. That’s worse than anything. Even worse than fans throwing plastic bottles. Kirby had no public apology. No fine. That’s egregious. A quite unsportsmanlike, wouldn’t you say. Sorry, I’m just enjoying the theatrics of Kirby playing wounded dove. .

@royalkent2411
@royalkent2411 6 часов назад
The correct call isn’t the issue, no one is arguing that it was a bad call.. the issue is that the flag should’ve been immediately picked up. Not after an extended period of time and it’s also against the rules, PI isn’t a reviewable call. So yes, bad call, should’ve been reversed but by rules, it can’t be reviewed.

@royalkent2411 only the field judge can pick up a flag, he has to verify the flag from the other judges, you don't like this, I don't like this but that's the way it is. Until the NCAA starts paying for just officials like the NFL, we will continue to get this dumb argument. Of course it was OPI not DPI, of course he made the wrong call. Maybe this national spotlight on how back asswards on officiating will wake up the NCAA.
