Why is our Player base falling? Players are taking a break until T4 comes out, and at the same time all new players have been automatically perma-banned since weeks. And AGS doesn't care.

It’s a rumor going around not proof at all have you actually seen the accusation of why those so called new players are getting banned no cause you don’t know the slick system of rmt.
@@Too2Cold First of all, I don't know why you're so obsessed with the RMT, nobody's talking about it and it's got nothing to do with the wave of new player bans. Secondly, I'm happy for you that you're not banned yet, but I've got a buddy of mine who wanted to start the game two weeks ago to play with me. The second day he was perma-banned because apparently he's a bot. When I looked into it, I discovered that it's been a global problem since the 21/05 update. So you really need to understand something that will help you in life: Just because something hasn't happened to you doesn't make it a myth, you're not Jim Carrey in the True Man Show, you're not the center of the world...
good thing AGS is planning to travel SG to discuss around specifics for west version, they opened a megathread feedbacks because if they keep on that way..... slowly but surely the game will join blade and soul, aion and all his brothers (in the west)
I think people were just tired of the lack of endgame flexibility and the hoops you had to jump through just to participate in it. That happened a long time ago. Now the 20k players left that are slowly declining are those who were "ok" with it, but are leaving because the game lost all those who weren't, and people don't like to invest time and especially money in an MMO that trends towards dying. Tier 4 and Season 3 not really making any meaningful changes about these things, which won't bring people back if they were even considering to in the first place. Once people leave, its hard to get them to come back. Each time Smilegate and Amazon push for a rebound, it is less effective each time because it doesn't fix these fundamental issues. Solo raids are a bandaid, and a very low quality one at that. I suspect it'll help some, but not nearly enough, and ultimately not enough to stem the bleeding long term. Plus it further kills its identity as an MMO, which it has already pulled itself away from a long time ago.
I agree with most comments here that it's partially monday/tuesday time thing, but I think that people are approaching the wall having cleared normal raids and cannot progress without completing hard. And completing hard theamine not having full transcendence + elixir set is almost impossible now (not having static of course). You will not be accepted or the group will disband after 2 wipes. Just unlock the damn legendary elixirs and full transcendence via completing normal (and nerf raids more) and people will be able to progress and play. It's so easy, but also is something that is being said by most streamers/content creators and nothing is being done, so.. that's where we are.
LOST ARK: be day 1 player and never quit or have fun jailed etc. When solo raids come will try it and then quit again, no point playing a game with 13.5k players and keeps getting lower. Btw new world has 4k and lost ark will follow hes path, AMAZON is failing everygame they made-bring.
T4 is the biggest scam ever made and made a lot of people quit the game. People thought they spent on End game only to find out that there's another End game. Mark my words. give it 1 year and the game will crawl back to Asia. You can sugar coat it all you want but the facts remain the same.
I returned to the game like 2 months ago now, played for 1 month and now quitted again. The reasons are pretty much the same when i quitted the first time: too much grind for too little good content and a frustrating progression system. The game is fun for about 2 weeks and slowly turns into a job. I dont want that from a game. Additionally the T4 announcement pretty much killed any ambition to push my low level roster ( 1 1600char and 5 ~1500 chars ) further. The 1600 char costs too much gold to push on its own and pushing my alts makes no sense if we get honing buffs with T4. So the only logical choice I have is to quit and wait for T4. With that said, the main problems of the game imho still gonna be the same so I dont think i will return at all.
dead game, solo raid is the only hope. Every raid release the revenue and player is always going down not up, what do you expect ?. For the idiots that keeps argueing the game is fine, looks at both the steam chart ccu and revenue chart. That also includes bot count 😂
game is trash. thats all to it. Gameplay(raids,combat) is fun but all around it is trash . People realized its not changing even with T4 coming so they left.
The influx of new people/returners hearing about solo raids and the peoe who have taken a break till t4 probably balance out. The biggest dip in players was from a huge bit ban wave. It was noticeable in everything from deskaluda to market prices. Very few bots relative to before have been brought up to function again.
multiple reasons here that it is not the fault of T4 at all: 1. the MMO player base in general tends to be an older generation that have standard 9-5 jobs, hence no reason for there to be much parties in party finder pre 5PM PST. The two reddit posts lately on front page are just stupid when you indicate that there's no lobbies in NAW. NAW is not a dead region, you're just playing when people aren't on. It is what it is. If you're playing when no one is on, is it a dead region or are you just not using your brain? 2. it's a Monday, most people are done with raids other than procrastinators, the people in party finder are those who were jailed earlier in the week doing end game content, new players who recently got to said content, or people who got their alts to said content later in the week 3. like you mentioned, people are on break, playing other games, maybe just logged in and do an una here and there, log off because nothing else to do. It's boring to do multiple chaos dungeons and guardians in a row. If you get garbage fate embers, it feels even worse doing them. 4. people are tired of all these dailies, they only play for raids which is what this game about, dailies are optional, raids are optional, if you have a lot of gold, if you have your end game systems complete, you can just chill I've never found there to be an issue of not enough parties in party finder except for 2 types of content: either the highest of content, the hard mode echidnas and hard mode thaemines that are prog parties instead of just full reclears, or the lowest of content, the argos valtan vykas which most people are not at anyways Gold River even indicated back in the very early days of Lost Ark that he did not design this game to be played every single day but to be played with seasons. When a new raid comes out, people come back, gear up, clear the raid, get their gear, peace out until the next raid. Because that wasn't the case with all the players, people came in and started doing dailies, multiple raids, farming the heck out of everything and ended up with boatloads of gold in their pockets, prompting the devs to add in all these gold sinks that we now grind for on the daily. And these gold sinks have RNG factors that make it so you can either one tap them, or go for months without making any improvements in this system. KR had at least 2x if not 3x the time to go through these systems, but we're going through these same systems with barely any additional materials and much less time. People are burnt out. They have grinded hard on these systems, and are now waiting for the next content, which is T4 when they can then spend time grinding again. It is just how MMOs are designed.
I admire the hope. My burnout has me not really intending to return to the game at all. I just cant go back to the rng systems again to spend months stuck in that cycle of gaining nothing or maybe this time ill hit a decent elixir cut.
everything in this game is optional. you don't have to do dailies if you don't need silver or mats, you do them rested if you want to, you can not do them either. Nothing says you have to do them. If you're a starting player or you have goals to reach to hone to, sure it's not optional

It's always been optional. You choose how much you want to grind in this game. If you feel that you need to push ilvls, maybe it's not optional. I don't understand why you're confused.
Sure it did. All the whales are gone. Why play content that will be outdated in a few months. They can save their whale money and hit it hard when the T4 patch hits.
For me T4 announcement is keeping me playing. Echidna and Theamine progression and now the farming for vertical progression is just too much time. I am still playing but barely only thanks to T4 and the hope Behemoth will be doable with limited transcendence/advanced honing.
A lot people i know play FF14, normally for raids/end game/get BiS, it offers nothing to grind and LA does offer grind, after expansion BiS will be back to geind LA. Also T4 announcement doesn't help.
Lost ark is essentially an ARPG with MMO integration so a mass player drop before a new season is normal for any ARPG its the MMO parts that suffer as a result.
Coming back for solo raids I just want to farm gold on my own, I don’t play mmos much, I come from a game called escape from tarkov and I am money grinder, so I just want to grind gold, I’m okay with being behind as it’s not my main focus to be top tier, I find enjoyment in gold farming and material grinding and fishing, something cozy about it.
I have 6.6k hours in the game and was 1640 on my main. I quit after LOA. Best decision i took this summer, i'm so zen since then. Was a good run, still following though all the news and i hope the game will do good, is a good game.
you quit just in time to miss out on the easy chill solo content that won't be stressful but I get you I took a good break right after brel dropped just came back two months ago can't wait for this solo content to come.
I am pretty much done after almost 9-10k hours. I think the game's just tired. Same issues, solved with band-aids. Spend more time in Party Finders than playing the actual game. Forces you to be in statics, which means organized timings, scheduled raids = you can't play at your own time. Your life is basically planned around Lost Ark if you're in a static which is horrible. I decided to throw in the towel and see if solo raids are fun and try it out when its out. But I'm done playing latest content. If Solo Raids are super well received, I honestly feel they should just make Lost Ark a seasonal MMO and play around different builds each season . Sooo much better and less development stress but oh well...what do i know...
Its the same case in euc, way less parties, game feels really empty. I'm guessing people were already burnt out and the news for t4 just pushed them away from the game, when they realized they gotta gear up again, buy gems, buy books, cut rocks, gather new cards etc. Do all of that so they can spend more hours trying to find players for the next raid. Or they are taking a break and will be back for tier 4. Also ags is doing their utmost to push new players away from trying out the game.
Yea should probably compare wednesdays on a per week basis. I dont think the t4 announcement did much overall since we got a new raid right just after that. But ita still noticeable compared to a few months ago, you have to play at peak hours and early in the week or it will get harder to find parties. Akkan hard was the worst for me this week to find a lobby, but i guess many players dont bother with hardmode for that without all the 1620+ that dropped the raid for echidna
well even during sundays you have 2-3 thaemine HM lobby filling for hours, not dead yet but not healthy Even black desert online have more players only with steam launcher, are we gonna wait that lost ark reach New World ccu to react ?
I find it weird the roundabout way you thought about the drop in playerbase sure old players take a break before tier 4 cause people won't grind for nothing. On top of that Lost ark is not a new player friendly game that's just that you have no new players, I just returned to the game and i haven't even bothered looking for groups on a certain section of the treadmill i'm just waiting for solo raids while leveling alts
Personally I don't think it has anything to do with t4, I played lost ark for a while on release and then quit due to the gatekeeping, I tried to start playing again recently and not only were there barely any parties available at all, but when there was one you get gatekept. As soon as a 1560 character of mine got gatekept from VALTAN I realized the game had not changed at all and so I've stopped playing again. If anything though, the solo raids are a huge addition to the game imo and if anything will bring players back it will be those.
Alts, constant catchup playing mouse and cat and even then gatekeeping still happens, burnout due to catchup, tier 4 made me question all the effort these years. It's like deleting all your progress and starting the grind again. While the raids are fun and best thing I ever seen. No raid is worth doing 18 times a week for years and over time it becomes nothing special. Like grinding collectibles for adventure book. The whole progress of the game feels one steam line. Some people want to just casually brain dead almost play. Now you have wipe mechanics which adds 7 people stress on your because to not get kicked, having notes to remember all the mechas. Most of the gears and builds are very limited basically no versatility. I guess people got tired of doing the same shit and without raids everything else is boring or dead content. Simply put I don't think T4 has anything to do with this entirely. Probably some taking a break and recovering before it hits, some leaving because it feels just copy pasta of the content just different mechs. I really like lost ark but sometimes I can't take it anymore. Reasons why people love valtan because there is single wipe mecha as far as I remember and you can by pass that with balthor, then it is up to your skills to dodge a lot of stuff and if there is single person left the carry potential is HUGE. Kinda silent rooting for success LOL entertaining as F. In my opinion 1 wipe mecha for each gate, the rest mechas can be puzzles(people love puzzles) if you fail you die alone without ruining they fun. I really like kyangel g4 pointing lights, it gives a lot of time and it is simple and fun. I always said this and always will. Wipe mechas are a mistake. You punishing everyone for one person mistake. Instead just punish that person so next time he knows. Sure you can say then you will carry them. But I prefer to carry someone and have potential player in the long run then wipe, frustrate other 7 people, then feel the pressure of the other 7 people, wiping again, getting kicked and feeling like shit and quitting the game. Literally psychological bullying.
The main reason is that the new raid echidna is so boring and frustrating, u are feeling that u are ordered to do those long and boring mechanics with no fun in them and those mechs have no room for error, one person's mistake punishes the whole team, and a wipe u need to start over a 15min+ raid again. I have to say that echidna g2 is the worst designed raid ever, similar to old brelshaza g5. If they are not nerfing echidna g2 I believe there will be more ppl quiting.
