I'm the only one that notice Dave went the wrong way lol had to turn back around.

I've been inspected with light loads,empty trailers ,heck one time I even got an inspection while I was bobtailing.

Make sure you have your windows down when going through the weigh station. An officer may be outside wanting to talk to you or you get the message from the speaker.

American truck simulator. I seen in the comment section someone making a joke about American truck simulator. This is how I got into trucking. I was at home after work. Started playing the game and thought well. Maybe I could do this for a living. I then started watching trucking videos. Riding with Dave was one of the very first people I subscribed to. I downloaded CDL prep and started studying for my permit and in the meantime I practice backing maneuvers with the steering wheel in the game American truck simulator. When I went to truck driving school this practice actually came in quite handy giving me many of the principles behind backing. I've now been truck driving going on 4 years..

I hated the scales being open explicitly when I was placarded that was like a automatic come in and set awhile time for a inspection. Very rarely did I get just checking drive documents. Instead I would get the full inspection including get up in the trailer and check load security and product loading to make sure hazmat was properly loaded on the skids. Even road side inspections from mobile DOT. As well as random police officers getting their monthly quotas of inspections. Fortunately I normally had no violations other than verbal.

I had 79,800 one time and could could get both tandems under 34,000. Got my first ever red light to come in and weigh, but luckily he was busy and I got the green to go through other lane. I was in a rush to get home.

I've figured out why some drivers drive fast approaching slower traffic. It has happened to me. They are using cruise control set at the speed limit and eventually gain on slower cars. They hope they can find an opening to pass without turning off the cruise control. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I speak from experience.

The fact we have to enter the coops at all gives them right to inspect, especially before holidays, they need those x-mas bonuses!

Hey Dave (& Dave's fans)! Thanks for the channel & all the vids! I got a newbie-/rookie-question; What should a new trucker bring with them when they start trucking? Im about to start my first trucking-job, once the truck is outta the shop. Got clothes (including rain-/cold-weather jacket), toiletries including beard-trimmer, sleeping-bag/pillow/sheets, flashlights, utility-"knife" (with the pliers, knife, screwdriver, et al), body-wipes, tp, cleaning-wipes (to clean the truck), phone-charger, & planning on taking my laptop. Planning on picking up food & (non-alcoholic) drinks somewhere along the way. What am i missing? Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated!

At least the country streets in this video are populated. That one street with no speed limit signs... If unposted then by law the speed limit is 55. If GPS shows another speed then the signs must have been stolen. Otherwise, a job wasn't done. I'd commented on the previous video about the country street all the trucks were backing on being unpopulated. But a couple people had to start with me because they failed to correctly comprehend my entire statement. They obviously don't 'get' that streets where there's absolutely nothing around really have zero reason to have truckers in the area. One needs not be religious to have any belief, yo. One can be religious, have some belief, but nothing more. It's never the vehicle. It's simply the drivers. Sometimes it can be the driver getting used to the vehicle. Owning just one expensive car doesn't mean the owner is rich. Owning at least one cheap or old vehicle doesn't mean the owner is poor. The driver of a vehicle isn't always necessarily the 'actual' owner of the vehicle.

Dude, speaking of signs saying 'No semi trucks'....my general mills plant literally has 5 signs that say No semi trucks...and guess what? We have truckers ignore ALL the signs all the time. One time I helped a trucker back out across our entrance bridge, an told him "hey, your in a no truck entrance" he goes "really?" I say "Yes, you somehow ignored all 5 signs" He goes "Oh, I didnt see them"...sob man, you haul up to 80,000lbs an you cant read a damn sign lol
