What is ROBLOX? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 8 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX - interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything - be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet­to­be­dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“ROBUX”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

Honestly, I cant even feel the change. It just halts the Movement Tech™ abuse a lot. It's a good change, imo.

If they're going to tweak movement to be more casual-friendly (which I believe to be their main goal with the movement changes) then adding stamina is such a bad idea as it limits EVERYONE from performing advanced move tech, not just the skilled players.

I like this nerf even as a high ranked player in PF, you don't get punished for doing weird stuff just because you can hop away? Nuh uh, unlike cs there is no "tag" feature so most players are super duper fast, so this would definitely make things more casual friendly and force the "good" players to actually relying more on their aim to win duels instead of whatever super jump they gonna do.

Adding a stamina bar not only objectively lowers the skill ceiling for the game, but also ruins the experience for everyone else. If the mentality behind this change is that they want to make the experience easier for new players, this won't do it. This game is already hard enough for new players due to it's extremely low average TTK (time to kill) for every weapon in the game. (Not to mention the same reasons why noobs always struggle at first in any game). Nerfing sliding will not make the game better for new players. it will only make veterans frustrated, and limit the ability of a new player to learn the mechanics. Not only that, but this will actively ruin the experience for those of us who do understand the importance of learning the movement mechanics of the game, and who have mastered them. Movement is critical to how PF plays and making a major change to it in a way like this will hugely affect it's player count, which means revenue for Stylis, but also make the experience worse for everyone

I do agree with your "lower the skill ceiling" part and couldn't have worded it better myself. The game being challenging will only urge the noobs to do better. If they really don't want to scare the noobs away, reduce the skill floor, not the other way around

Good point, but most guns have a 0,1sec TTK, what is "extremely" low in your opinion?? Reduce Movement would significantly help new players as they don't die much more often (which is what most newcomers complained about). In addition, making Movement worse will also make guns with low dmg on far range good (such as my fav Kriss Vector). Let's take the old meta with people using Sniper Rifle for example, they move at a ridiculous speed even when holding something weight two times their body while also able to one shot you any range, a single bullet is all it takes, that means TTK for most Sniper Rifle would be 1 millisecond. Of course, Sniper Rifle can still kill you at close range without even having to aim for the head (thus is supposed to be the advantage only for most Shotguns and SMGs because they can't work far range). With the reduced movement, Sniper users can still one shot torso close range, but at least light guns users can easily flank them or simply just jump to their blind spot and shoot them, having reduced movement also effectively makes Grenade good against heavy guns users (their guns basically have much higher stats than light weight guns, such as piercing, ammo, general damage and even recoil).

having no idea what they were thinking, they were probably limiting movement spam in a more transparent way to how it already was (slight cooldown on superjumps). right now, any change is exciting, so I say let them cook admittedly, cod-esque low ttk games typically dont have stamina bars, whereas ARMA 3, a simulation game, does

I think it’s to make it more attractive to lo level players as a lot of people quit bc the sweats would just destroy them which is no fun that’s why I quit the game a couple of years ago as the skill cap between higher level players and average players had increased but I’ve returned because the game is actually fun again with better rewards now.

As a rank 225 with a rank 100 alt account and multiple rank 50+ alts, I was willing to at least try the movement since they balanced it out by adding wall running, but I am flat out never going to touch this game again if a stamina bar s added.

@@henry6136 It isn't just me, if you go on the discord server you can see that most of the playerbase is angry at this decision. I have spoken to many high ranks around the 200-300 mark, and most of them said that they are planning on quitting if this reaches the main game.

Guys, i know yall hate the stamina bar, but they probably want something that will nerf the highrank players so that it is more beginners friendly. I understand a lot of people not liking it but you have to understand as a game developer, noobs and beginner are one of the most important things in your game. The simple factor of whether new players like or dislike you game can determine the entire game. I dont think beginners are going to like being absolutely overpowered by the intermediate and high level players. The reason why this game is so fun, is because we are able to dominate and overpower beginner players, but while doing so, we lack to realize that we ourselves are not the mainplayers in this entire online game. They do not want your pity, they want your understanding that they need to cater for all the players. Sylis studios is currently at a place where call of duty was. Surely you dont want phantom forces to end up like call of duty with absolutely no movement and skill based matchmaking

QUICK BEFORE TOO MANY COMMENTS ROLL IN!! I’ve noticed that after a super jump there is a pause before you can do a slide or another super jump. They should go based off of that and show when you can slide after a super jump. There is also a very short time before you are able to slide and slide again so they should add that cooldown too. (:

I'm looking at these new features like wall running, lower gravity and whatnot, and I'm thinking they're swapping from a semi-realistic FPS game to more like an arcade FPS. With this stamina, I think they're preparing for something big movement-wise. I know they deprecated the idea of equipment a LONG time ago, but think about light or heavy armor that has a trade-off for more or less energy for more or less health? Just throwing things out there, don't give me flak.

ngl I wish the stamina would just be the cooldown bar for the dolphin dive cuz I try to air dive up to an area and I suck at it so I tried again and apparently there's like a few seconds cooldown before I can use it again so I just jump without diving

you know how in the min gmae, theres a coodown after every movement action you perform, they removed that cooldown initially and you just had to wait for stamina refill, but then they tunned it so where the cooldown is back and the stamina regenerates MUCH faster

There is a good reason why they added the stamina bar, but people dont really understand it. It is to possibly reduce sweats or simply make the game more interesting and less spam buttons. As a lvl 150+ myself, i use movement a lot, but, I believe it is better to have it in order to focus more on the aim aspect and less on the sweaty movement.

I agree. Being a shooter game it should have a mix of aiming, reaction time, movement, etc. But at the moment whoever has mastered his movement mechanics will win no matter what even if other player is better at other things.

I am also an old player, playing since 2017 casually but there should be something done cause new players won't be able to get kills hence they will lose interest and the game might lose players who are newbies and us OG players because we will one day just grow out of roblox and forget about it.

Sliding the whole game is the reason they implemented it, it makes the super fast paced gunfights and trying to track your opponents pretty difficult, especially if you're new

I think it doesn't really affect superjumping since there really was a sort of cooldown after you do one, but sliding should not make it go down that much...

I think stamina was implemented, just that there wasn’t a bar to show it. You still had to recover after superjumping.

You guys really need to calm down. this doesn't affect much, it just reduces by 3-70% when you jump and slide, which means you can never or hardly use up the entire stamina bar. Also, pf needs to change, so do we, change your view of the game. Accept new things

no way they better make this not like ruin the movement of the game which is one of the *BEST* things the game has Sliding is literally one of the *KEY* features in pf and atp high ranking people (even low ranking people like me) utilize the sliding mechanism for multiple movement techs.

I agree that Movement is what makes this game superior compared to other FPS games, but it also makes the game much unfair since you can run 300kmph while holding a Sniper Rifle on hand, a super OP weapon that can one shot any range and you don't even have to aim for the head in close range. I am a big fan of SMGs, specifically the Kriss Vector, which have roughly 17 torso dmg on mid-far range. I literally quit this game for like 2 years, until I heard they buff the Kriss Vector 2 months ago, I still don't play the game, but now I will reconsider

@@DarkBalladYT you should take the point that sniper users can easily spam super jump and do all the movement sh*t to run around the map in like 5 seconds, making the stamina bar simply make them unable to do so, and many people complaining that having stamina bar make sniper die easier or it would badly affect them but in fact they can still survive safe and sound, just not moving damn fast

People act as if this is going to kill the game or ruin movement completely. This is not the case. It was tweaked so that traditional C sliding keeps your stamina constant and only drains slightly, but you can do quick bursts of movement due to no cooldowns, and can't spam superjump anymore cause it takes so much. It allowed slow weapons to move somewhat quick now, and allows you to escape a bad situation with C + sprint spam, at a cost (you NEED to get away or you can't slide anymore out of enemy sight). This is likely not going to be added. Players (namely high rank tryhards) act as if an update like this will bring the fuckin rapture on the game. I've played with the stamina and it feels smooth. No, I haven't been sniped across the map "because I can't move anymore" (you can still run). You aren't gonna have a heart attack and die from not being able to slide for 2 seconds while stamina regends.

The issue with putting a limit on the movement is the fact that it hinders everyone that plays the game, not just the tryhards you mention in this post. If anything its actively punishing the most active and dedicated players phantom forces has while ALSO making it harder for new players trying to get better and learn the movement tech. Lowering the skill ceiling for a game like this is genuinely one of the worst ideas because its essentially putting a limit on how good a player's movement can be. The fact that the ttk is so fast in this game would also make it a bad idea to push this change. Fast ttk games dont usually have a stamina bar and for good reason. One of the biggest reasons I and many others play this game is because of the unique movement and potential to do really cool things with it without ANY limitations other than whats been set in place for years. Do I think that they should make the game more accessible and easier to get into for new players or low ranks? Absolutely, and I'm probably one of the biggest advocates for a system like that because the game sort of just tosses new players into the chaos and hope they get the hang of it. The issue is that limiting movement in a way like this manages to be a bandaid solution to a problem that most players - myself included - think there are WAY better ways to handle. Not sure what the devs were thinking on this one.

its not that bad since there is already a cool down in between super jumps and your stamina comes back quickly so its not that big of a difference. It would be bad if stamina affected sprinting but of course it does not and the devs said stamina would only affect certain parts of movement that means not sprinting

The stamina bar just feels like it will ruin any form of movement expression as well as make any playstyle much more restricting than ever, and it sucks honestly for how movement heavy PF can be. Movement is a thing that you learn to master while playing, and with enough time you learn to do some really goofy and nasty movements to get flashier kills or to traverse the map faster for objectives. It ain't like it's a high level thing either, it's just something learned and the stamina bar ruins that on every level of play. It feels like melee's movement mechanics vs ultimate's movement mechanics. Melee takes a good while to learn how to do certain tech but allows for alot of expression and speed even for slower plays and characters. In pf you can have a NTW but still be able to just superjump to save time going far away or to avoid some damage. Ultimate feels more restricting with its movement due to having a little less expression when it comes to the same mechanics melee has, and I feel like that's what the stamina bar is adding. It's restricting. Pretend any of that makes sense though im just a stopper user.

I haven't played much at all the past year and a half, I was considering coming back but with changes like that I'm not so sure.

The issue with putting a limit on the movement is the fact that it hinders everyone that plays the game, not just tryhards or skilled players. If anything its actively punishing the most active and dedicated players phantom forces has while ALSO making it harder for new players trying to get better and learn the movement tech. Lowering the skill ceiling for a game like this is genuinely one of the worst ideas because its essentially putting a limit on how good a player's movement can be. The fact that the ttk is so fast in this game would also make it a bad idea to push this change. Fast ttk games dont usually have a stamina bar and for good reason. One of the biggest reasons I and many others play this game is because of the unique movement and potential to do really cool things with it without ANY limitations other than whats been set in place for years which are the cooldowns. Do I think that they should make the game more accessible and easier to get into for new players or low ranks? Absolutely, and I'm probably one of the biggest advocates for a system like that because the game sort of just tosses new players into the chaos and hope they get the hang of it. The issue is that limiting movement in a way like this manages to be a bandaid solution to a problem that most players - myself included - think there are WAY better ways to handle. Not sure what the devs were thinking on this one.

I actually like this concept since more and more fps games on roblox start to bring real physics. In this case, having stamina actually reflects how we have limits. I guess this is a step closer to make Phantom Forces more realistic.

When I first played this game, I wondered why the it didn't have a stamina bar to begin with. This isn't like Battlefield where the maps are massive. Unlimited stamina should compensate for not having a vehicle in a giant map. In this game, the maps are big, but nobody really needs to be dodging and sliding around every single corner, or every time they see an enemy on the other side of the map. Being a newer, laid-back player from Battlefield 4, this game caught my interest only because it had similar weapons, customization options for those weapons, and the HUD was also a nearly identical asset. The gunplay was also slightly better. But, the movement was way too unpredictable. The game was presented to me like it had some sense of realism, but it really didn't. The gunplay was pretty neat, but the movement was probably the worst aspect of this whole game. Since then, I stopped playing. The fact they've only added a stamina bar instead of outright recreating the whole system, and people are complaining about it, makes no sense.

PF I would call at least to some extent a movement shooter. Stamina bars don't go well with movement shooters period imo.

They should just not alter the movement tech, stamina values that are already present. The bar itself I do not care about. The bar itself as a UI element can stay. But the values must be the way they have been.

I'm quitting PF if they introduce a stamina bar, all the other changes already made the game harder to enjoy for me, this would be the killing blow for me personally.

I think they need to either remove it or make it so it only applies to super jumps, super jumps should be the only thing that takes stamina. not slide jumping and other stuff.

Personally i like the idea. It encourages players to be more careful and strategic with their movement and punishes recklessness. And there are many shooters that are just as good and even better than pf that have stamina bars. So honestly i think the people complaining are just butthurt that they have to use their brain in their favorite fps game now instead of instinctively slide cancelling when they see a guy to shoot. Take this from a guy whos trash at pf and plays blood and iron daily so i could be completely wrong, but i just wanted to say my opinion

STAMINA!? Come on, I can barely run anyway, thanks to my internet. Edit: I just saw that running is not included and this is worse, as I said, my internet is bad and sometimes I cannot even super jump because the game does not recognize the commands I give.

Bro I can do a whole long paragraph (with AI) to prove and explain why nerfing movements with Stamina will badly affect the game But honestly This choice is a must, if the devs want to make the game "more realistic, more tactical" Like pros will just jump around while shooting, spam EMP slide for extra speed... every illogical movement just to get their kill possible. At some spot of a map which was intended impossible to reach, they did reach it. The tactical has gone - who got better movement will kill-feeding like surfing, bad movement = get killed by surprise. I believe movement affect 30% of the gameplay and it will change the whole play style a lot if the changed actually be made. For "more realistic", uh sorry wrong word used, but since PF is one of very few FPS games that has fall damage, being "realistic" in movement isn't bad. Anyone in real life ever just crawl to the ground eating dirt then having faster speed than a normal running man? I don't play PF since long ago but if this change gonna be made official, i will revisited again

They did when they changed muzzle velocities for PDWs. But to be honest, at least there will be less tryhards permasliding the entire game. Finally the game will be more casual to play and less sweaty. So unlike most people, I like this change.

The current game relies too much on your movement mechanics. Yes I agree the stamina bar might hinder with your skills but if you see from the perspective of a casual player they don't use these tricks very often and it results in being dominated by pro players flying in the air killing you. What could be better option is they do a cooldown on super jump and EMP sliding since only movement mechanics shouldn't be the only skill you should master to kill someone. An FPS involves many factors such as Aiming, reaction time, movement, etc. Right now if you have a better movement skills you have a 70% chance to kill someone even if he is better at other things.

Not the games fault that people understand other things that aren't what the games about. Plus you still do need pretty decent aim to be good even with great movement, cause if you're moving everywhere but cant place a shot on target you will lose the battle almost every time.

With the changing dynamics of roblox and the game(PF), devs have to keep the game alive since the skill gap between a new/casual player is too much and people leave the game because of being dominated. Regarding the aim, even if you have half decent aim it is easy because I myself have used it sometimes and I'm a casual player who returns to the game after every 3-4 months.

At this point they're not even trying to make the game balanced, you'll simply peek a corner with an lmg and lay down 100 rounds on someone that had no stamina to run away from it Awful change, i hope it'll never be added
