Did This Copper Scrubber Fix The Low Oil Pressure On My Antique Tractor??? My antique Farmall H has been having oil pressure issues. Can this Chore Boy copper scrubber fix the problem? Watch and find out as I install it!
Thanks for the tip Chris, I now have to check my Super A although the set-up on that side of the engine looks different, in fact I don't have an idea where its breather is
TSC has that mesh in a pack that I have used on my Fordson tractors for the air breathers. But I think what you used will serve you well. Great little repair video.
WOW, when you showed the sludge I thought the intake screen on the oil pump was clogged. I hope scrubby pad fixes for you. I run 30w in my Farmall 400, 15w40 in my Farmall A. I have ran 15w40 in the A for years. I will probably switch the 400 to 15w40 next oil change. That way all my tractors and truck run the same oil. I'm tired of having different weights of oil setting around.
Man yeah, that's awesome Mr Chris!! Boy you sure have some Nelson luck, a simple project takes days to complete!! 🤦🤦🤦🤣🤣🤣 BUT awesome repair and great job on the timing...purrs like a kitten!! Thank you sir for bringing us along!! Look fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I know- I read about it in the manual and thought it would be the most basic thing to try, boy was I wrong! A bunch of time and few bad words later I finally got it back together 🤣🤣🤣 Not the best design.... Thanks Nelson 🙂
I use 15W-40 diesel oil in all my tractors. I'd never recommend Straight 30W in anything below 32°F though. Just look at the charts from any oil company or manufacturer. When these tractors were made there wasn't multi grade oils yet. That's why the manuals say 30W .Technology with all fluids have come along way. There are simply better things to use now.
We've always run straight 30 weight. Once per year we would flush the system using 2 parts kerosene to 1 part oil. We would idle the engine for several minutes prior to a oil change. I have seen this recommended in manual. I don't think that would help in oil fluctuations. Thank you Chris.
A job well done 👍 One scrubber would have probably been fine.. it's just there to keep the oil from blowing out the tube... and keep 💩 out of the engine.. Interesting that it can cause low oil pressure, but.
Wow, that much sludge indicates that the previous owners didn’t change the oil, very poor, you’ve probably bought a pig with lip stick. Go ahead and drop the oil pan and it will be full of the same black sludge you found up top, clean out the oil pump pickup screen while you’re at it.
