Thank you for not selling your sole to a bait company. I’ve never felt you were pushing baits on us. Your Berkley Texas trip would’ve been too awesome to keep to yourself. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I’ve been used Rapala for decades as well as Berkley , I think there’s success with both at any given time and condition and I will always appreciate someone’s genuine opinion over a sponsored angler. I will be honest, you had some genuine points about the company and the bait itself, but I would not be surprised if you find yourself sponsored by Berkley sooner, rather than later 😜🤷🏻♂️💯. I am not saying that’s bad,and I respect your opinion either way,and wish you well in all of your endeavors 👍👊🍀🎣🍀 I’ve got a few different Dime models and I just picked up the new FFS Krej and the partner ( and forgot the name) 😮😂 Yes, I am a tackle addict😮😂😂
The more plugs I see you give Berkeley the less I want to watch. Of course they make some.good baits but a lot of junky cheap hard baits. And I noticed more and more you advocate that brand. I understand with your sponsored by them that's fine but there are a ton of other brands that get the job done they're way better than those baits and usually that company doesn't copy everything else and try to call it their own like Berkeley
Hey also, what do you know about the Money Badger by Berkeley? I've seen a few videos from a guy on RU-vid and he swears by them for fishing in the winter. He says they out fish the Spro rock crawler 10 to 1. What's your take on them or have you had a chance to use them yet? I bought one but I've not had a chance to fish it yet. Thanks. plastic will never replace wood when it comes to fishing heavy cover with crankbaits, the old bagley will go through shallow timber way better than plastic. Plastic square bills work great, just carry a bunch!
There are definitely a lot of people that think that. Pretty much the whole industry tries to one up each other on certain baits. DT6 is a balsa bait where this is a plastic bait…I wouldn’t call that a copycat
I’ve been trying to get to this event for 7 years now and every year something happens where I can’t go. This year I had a severe sciatica attack and can’t stand or walk long distance. So maybe next year.
I think that’s the same with most bait companies. Personally I think most companies make some good stuff and some junk . Can’t think of any company that’s all great or all crap
Have you ever lost a huge bass because she destroyed your balsa bait? I had a sure double digit break a spinnerbait. I got a good look at her and I’ve caught 4 double digits and know one when I see it.
Hey Tyler NOTHING replaces a wood crank NOTHING. But I know what you're saying sometimes you find a good plastic crank . The dime and the money badger seem to be the better cranks.
Hey just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I saw them at our local Academy back around Christmas and hadn't got any yet. Was waiting to see if anyone would make a video about them. Thanks again. Semper Fi from an old Marine
Thanx Tyler. I don't mind fishermen taken sponsors, They should declare that when promoting the product. Many videos are done by people you know are sponsored by the products they are pushing. That's why I only have 10k in lures and not 100k. I'm a sick person!
Berkeley is definitely my favorite traditional bass lure company. They may copy some stuff but they generally make the bait better and sell it to me cheaper than the original and that's fine by me...plus all Berkeley baits come stock with those killer fusion 19 hooks. So your not wrong by telling people how Berkeley is a far more committed to their research and their final products than most bait companies.
That looks almost exactly like a 40-year-old STORM crankbait i have except the STORM lip isn't transparent. It's a deep-diving rattler that is just as likely to catch a nice rainbow trout as it is to get a good largemouth.
The fuselage on the DT series is legendary and has a place in every hardcore crankers arsenal. Just like some others out there. I agree on Berkeley. Theres a couple i sling from time to time. But, its niche.
Its funny i was looking at them in cabelas. I was thinking similar to you as an alternative to Balsa. I also like how you dont use a lure sponsor. You can dabble in a lil bit of everything
Tyler, i am thinking of making the leap to lithium batteries for my trolling motor (36 volt Ultrex) but the initial investment is making me hesitant. I noticed the Millertech box in your video. If you are looking for subject matter how about lessons learned in your selection of the manufacturer you selected.
The initial investment is a little bit hard but they are so worth it. Especially with Millertech because they have a 10 year warranty…which is super long. Plus j like the app that connects to your batteries. If you click on my link for Millertech you will also save 10% on batteries if that helps
Like I said I found the science behind the bait super interesting but I am not saying it’s 100% better than a balsa bait. Ott Defoe has forgotten more about Balsa then I will ever know
