When we booked our Celebrity Cruises Infinite Veranda Cabin, we weren't sure if we made a huge mistake! These balcony cabins might be the most controversial, with many people hating them. However, we had to try the Infinite Veranda cabin on our cruise on Celebrity Beyond, and judge for ourselves.
In this video we share a cruise cabin review of the Infinite Veranda on Celebrity Beyond cruise ship. We go over the pros and cons of this type of cruise ship cabin, and share if we like this cabin, and if we'd book it again.
If you're planning a cruise on one of Celebrity Cruises Edge class cruise ships, this video will help you decide on the best cabin for you.

Stayed on the Celebrity Beyond same room as you's 6 weeks ago. Love the room. As for the mirror. We moved the chair and slid the table into the fridge. That gave us a full length mirror. We love the full view of the balcony.

How often was it locked? Part of the reason we always book a balcony room is that I’m extremely claustrophobic, so the idea of being unable to open the window gives me some anxiety…

@@itsme-vx6fg we were on a transatlantic cruise in the Edge. I only remember is being locked once or twice. Honestly when it was locked I wouldn’t have wanted it open. I'd never seen this type of cabin before but it looks like a great idea to me. It gives you that opportunity to use the balcony space as interior space if you want to. Making the cabin feel more spacious. And you can still pull the window down if you want that "balcony feel". Really looks like the best of both worlds to me.

This is an excellent analysis of the veranda (large window) vs. an actual outside balcony. I LOVED sitting on the balcony each morning with my room-service coffee, fruit, and muffin. Thus, balcony for me. You covered EVERY detail (including possible noise from others w/balcony).

This was incredibly helpful as i was torn between the deluxe port hole and the infinite veranda. This wins! I can sit on my sofa with the window down for that balcony feel, close the doors and sit on the chairs watching the sea and the best bit is that it makes the room larger bringing the outside in. Thanks so much for your help with this 😊

3:29 One thing I enjoy about a traditional balcony is that I can stand at the rail and look down the side of the ship to see the bridge, and more importantly, to get a 180-degree view of the port and its surroundings as we sail away. With the top window open, can one still lean forward on the divider to see down the side of the ship (forward and aft)? I've enjoyed watching the pilot come onto or off the ship if that occurs on our side of the ship. I feel like I'd miss a lot of normal sights with the IV setup. We have booked the Beyond, but went with a traditional balcony (one of the 18 or so on the ship!). I think the AC issues would be a deal breaker for me.

Just got off the Apex and had an infinite veranda… loved it. Loved the extra space and the sound proofing from neighbors… however a couple times I came back to the room and the room steward left the blind raised and it ended up getting pretty warm in the room and took a while to cool back down.. We had some rough weather so it was locked often so I did miss being able to walk outside and just see and experience the waves and hearing them crash against the ship….

Well... We just completed our 9th cruise (it took us 23 years to do those) and went to Alaska on the Celebrity Edge! Although we'd cruised before, we found that watching (Ok... binge watching) your videos was Very Helpful! Thank You Ilana! We booked the controversial "Infinite Veranda" and.... We Loved It! Ours was set up with the couch closer to the window, but we both agree it would still be a great choice, even with the bed closer to the window and the couch closer to the door. That setup would allow easier walk-up to the closets too. We loved watching as we sailed into and out of port and we saw whales and a bald eagle from the room. We don't normally go to coffee shops, but Loved getting tea at Cafe el Bacio and watching the scenery go by outside. The martini bar area was also a great place to sit and enjoy the music, wine and watching people having fun. We did hear some passengers complaining that the weather was cold and rained in Ketchikan. It's Alaska! A little homework before booking might have helped them select a different cruise. All in all, the Edge was a great ship for us and Alaska's beauty is Fantastic!

We just wrapped up a week on the APEX, and we stayed in an infinite veranda room (Aqua class) for our first time. Our take-aways...for the most part, we loved it. Sailing in the Caribbean during the cooler months, made the use of the veranda quite nice. It never got too horribly hot or cold. We honestly left it closed for the most part because the floor to ceiling windows were so nice. HOWEVER, there was one day where the sun was just beating on our side of the ship. Our A/C was cranked, but our room just wouldn't cool off because of that "sunroom" effect. I tried closing the blinds about halfway which helped a little, then I closed the bifold doors to see if that would help...and it did, a little. I finally closed the blinds all the way, AND the bifold doors. That did the trick. The cool thing about that (pun intended), is that it made the room feel very elegant. If I would've had to do that for more than the hour or so I did to cool things off, I would not be as positive with my statement. We both loved being able to control things from our phone. We loved how the veranda just gave us more space in general, and I loved having a bit more privacy as this guy likes his nakey time 😀 I'm not convinced that I would stay in an infinite veranda room in the dead of summer with the heat/humidity. I think I'd prefer a traditional balcony then. But, we loved the room, loved the ship, it was awesome. If you haven't tried one, it's worth a shot...at least once.

I have booked an infinite veranda cabin on Celebrity Edge for a 19 day voyage from Honolulu to Sydney in October 2024. There are certainly worse rooms on a cruise ship. The room was not BAD. (I was in one on the Celebrity Apex.) But I missed having an actual, separate balcony. My biggest gripe was that you couldn't feel a breeze at all when you were sitting by the window. Also, I'm short, and my line of sight was right into the crossbar when I looked out from my chair.

I just booked a cruise on the celebrity beyond for August 10. I think the infinite balcony is a great idea. It makes the ship more aerodynamic which lowers their operating costs. The entire wall of the room is a window that allows you to see the ocean Unobstructed by an outside balcony. Also, I’m not sure everybody thinks about this, but when the window is closed, your room is larger than it would have been with a regular balcony. Your balcony furniture of two chairs and a small table become an inside space for additional seating.

Have you ever had an Aft balcony to compare to the infinite veranda? I’m going on my first ever cruise (an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle on May 23rd, 2025). I booked the infinite veranda but keep wondering if I should do the sunset veranda (aft), but it will cost me $1,300 more and not sure the sunset veranda is worth that, specially if it would be cold and/or rainy.

We went on a repositioning cruise on the Celebrity Apex. We absolutely loved the infinite veranda.. the one exception is that with the veranda door opened, the air conditioning is disabled... We appreciated the privacy and the view (except for when the bar in the middle was in the way)... We would definitely sail an Edge Class ship again.. also, the veranda window is disabled during really bad weather at the discretion of the captain. Our Concierge Class infinite veranda cabin felt like a beautiful mini-suite...

I would love this type of cabin, especially the privacy from the neighbors left and right. Since I read many people on Carnival are smoking whatever on their balcony. Carnival are dealing with violators, but I was shocked from "The Shiplife" video that many are not being caught. All that to say is that I would love that type of cabin. I'm a loyal Carnival Guest almost Platinum, so maybe their new ship Venezia, Jubilee, or Luminosa might have that kind of balcony (Veranda). I just sailed on the Celebration and it was Beautiful and the balcony was a lot more private than the older ships. So, maybe! Again, L.O.V.E. the Veranda🛳🥰

Another great video, Ilana! We did Apex twice in Europe and we've decided that we like a "real" balcony over the "sliding window" that is the Infinite Window. We will be sticking with Solstice or Millennium class for now. We also had reliability issues with our infinite window as the shade had "racked" and the window wouldn't go down reliably. To us, Aquaclass in a conventional cabin > Edge class infinite window. That said, we love Eden and Rooftop Garden Grill.

Book a sunset veranda on the edge class ships then you get the best of both worlds. All that the edge class has to offer with the traditional balcony of the other class of ships.

We loved the infinite v when we sailed in the Carib in the summer. We kept the window up and just enjoyed the view. However even with the window down we just did not feel like we were outside but rather like sitting in your house with the window open. For say an Alaska cruise I would much rather have a traditional where you feel more "outside".

@@jamess5154 I'm a retired engineer from the merchant marines sailing container ships all over the world for 32 years and I love cruising. Eating, drinking and a casino. What's not to like. Unlike the merchant marines and the Navy, on a cruise myself and my Navy brother don't have to worry about the phone ringing in the middle of the night. And the Infinity Cabin, people are just overthinking this thing. It make the room almost 25% bigger, has a great view and opens to the ocean sounds. Some people complain when their ice cream is too cold.

@@joentexasPart of what I enjoy most is being outside and enjoying the breezes, especially in the morning. There is also nothing stopping you from using your balcony any time of day, unlike this window setup. I did a 14 day Atlantic crossing on the Edge. I had booked an oceanview and was upgraded to an infinite veranda. I loved it. My _only_ complaint was the two chairs and small table that were on the veranda were in the way. I had no use for them and there was nowhere to stow them.

Cruising to Alaska on the Edge with my sister & brother-in-law next year. Normally when we cruise together, we choose veranda rooms next to each other so we can open the partition between & enjoy one big veranda. Since the only option for that on the Edge was the sunset verandas which were significantly more expensive, we decided it would be a good time to try the infinite veranda. I liked that there was an option for single travelers like myself that was less expensive than paying double for a regular room, but I wasn't really sure how I'd feel about not having a full regular veranda. I seriously though about changing my room but decided it wasn't worth the extra cost. After watching your video, I feel much better about the infinite veranda & am looking forward to being in one on my cruise. I may end up still preferring a traditional veranda, but I'm excited to try something different. Thanks for your honest thoughts on this room.

I keep wondering if I should keep the infinite veranda or go to the Sky Suite but that cost $1800 more! I worry that it might be so cold we won’t spend much time on the balcony and therefore wasting that $1,800.

I’m planning on booking a cruise on the Celebrity Beyond with a host of friends this Nov 2024, and getting ready to book soon. Trying to decide between veranda and oceanview cabin. We were on the Apex this summer in the Baltic and really enjoyed the infinite verandah. The weather was cooler at times such that it would not have otherwise been conducive to sitting out on a traditional balcony. With the infinite balcony, we could sit and feel like we were on a traditional balcony but without it being cool. We also found that it was great to have the added space as "part of the room." We would book an IV room again.

We just finished a cruise on Celebrity Summit. We had the oceanview with the ciircular window. We have sailed in suites, minisuites, ocean view,, and interior cabins. They all have pluses and minuses. We are usually only in the room to sleep or shower and dress for dinner. It really depends on the kind of cruiser you are. I have never been unhappy with any room. We just booked a cruise to Greece from Rome on the Ascent. We have a concierge suite with the infinite veranda. It may be a little hot in July in Greece. But we will be gone most of the day and can cool it off for sleeping. I'm looking forward to the new experience.

We leave on the Apex in 11 days. I was feeling pessimistic about our IV choice, your review made me look forward to this more. Things I know I will miss: peaking out of the blackout curtain while my husband sleeps to check out the view/weather, sneaking onto the balcony in the early morning to read or scroll my phone while my husband has a snooze. If you like to nap, the partner would have to leave the room. Also, the hanging space is criminally small, we use cruising as an opportunity to dress up every evening. That being said, the decor feels fresh and modern. Now I'm getting excited. Nice, concise video.

Thank you for your review. We just had a cruise on Celebrity Eclipse, and loved our veranda cabin. It was midships and on Deck 8, in the perfect location. This was especially helpful as we had a rough crossing across the Tasman Sea. We did not feel the swell very much because of where we were. So I definitely do not want a cabin aft. Sadly you have confirmed my reservations about the infinite veranda cabins. Even the things you mentioned as pros are negatives for me. I loved the openness of the veranda, and being able to see and chat to our neighbours. My partner had COVID and had to be confined to the cabin for 5 days. This was much less of a burden became was able to sit outside. We cruised through some of the fjords of New Zealand. His being able to be outside on the balcony meant he got to see almost as much as if he had been on a deck. Also the blackout blinds would make me feel claustrophobic. I think I will stick with traditional cabins. It’s such a pity as I would have liked to book another cruise on Celebrity, but next year they are going to bring Celebrity Edge to the Southern Hemisphere. So I won’t be booking another cruise until it is a Solstice class ship back.
