It’s a risk being a landlord. Tenants can either be good or utter trash - whether on Section 8 or not. Just watch a load of JJ cases where the tenants either didn’t pay rent for months or trashed the place or stole everything. None were on Section 8.
The same can be said about landlords. There's just as many cases of landlords withholding security deposits for absolutely no reason except they think they can lol. I've personally had to sue 2 of them for just that. 😂
@@KiKi-lq8cc every state requires it for a certificate of occupation , especially for section 8 since they have their own requirements to consider it a “section 8 eligible building”
My family rented to section 8 , it was the worst thing we ever did to our property…. I’m sure there are good section 8 renters but we were unlucky for 20 years with section 8
I literally came to the comment section to type “that’s literally the fastest she’s evert kicked anyone out” Lmao.. at this moment I haven’t watched part 2 but thanks for the hint 🙏🏾😂
I'm glad jj saw right through that woman's lies, she didn't have a copy of the police report because her ex police officer husband called in for a favor and she.didnt want them to be found out
I think its because he's just skittish and nervous. She's clearly a scam artist and is a quick speaker and absuing more section 8 housing. They're horribly entitled tenants
@@HelpPoetryplease stop with the racist remarks. I was a landlord and I would never accept section 8 tenants regardless of skin color. They destroy your property and move on to the next. My bf made a mistake accepting section 8 and he said never again.
From what I’ve seen, and from experience, section 8 recipients see it as a right or their actual income not temporary assistance. Secondly, when most people don’t actually pay for things, they don’t take care of it. That’s just a fact. And third, the fact that they move in, destroy and move on says it all. Finally, those of us willing to work however many jobs it takes to pay the bills will never be on assistance or section 8. We actually work.
Really, get a job, and don’t have kids if you can’t afford them . My husband and I came to this country legally, never took a dime from the Government worked 2 jobs and SAVED , and have 2 kids that we can afford to go to private still. I don’t want to pay for anyone. Sorry no , o sympathy
She has a point: If she still has/had Section 8 after all of this, the house could not have been destroyed. My parents own properties and have tenants who are on housing and others who aren’t. They’ve never (as of yet) had a “bad” Section 8 tenant 👍🏾
Dude is a lousy liar, Section 8 would have stopped if everything was torn up. He is full of it cause he decided to take in a section 8 and thought he should have more rental money from someone.
@@kathrynnassar4579 omg I know several people like that! They live in filth. One girl kept passing the section 8 inspections, but when the apartment complex did their inspection, they ended up taking it to court to have her evicted due to the damage & guess what section 8 did? They gave her another voucher for her to go on and trash someone else’s house! It’s insane!
@@kathrynnassar4579 exactly. This is how it is here in Idaho anyways. Fewer and fewer homes are made available for this program because the owners are sick of their properties getting destroyed. Never do the people get kicked out the program, they're already in another home by the time an inspection is done on their last home. So they just destroy every place they go to. Trashy people ruining what's meant to be a helpful program for them.
Not true! In New York they destroy their apartments and section 8 does nothing. They force landlord to fix everything. Every state is different and those ran by democrats can care less about landlords. I know.
Wrong. TANF or cash assistance otherwise known as welfare has a low threshold for income. Unless you have a large family and are working a low paying job you won’t be below the income threshold.
@@LadiiRis793 If they have jobs, then they shouldn't be on welfare. You people depend on the government way too much and don't seem to realize it's people like me who have to pay for your programs. I would love to keep that extra $400 that they take out of my paycheck in my pocket. You don't deserve it just because you've "fallen on hard times" or disabled. 🙄
This still doesn’t change the facts that there are 49 million kangaroos in Australia and 3.5 million people in Wales which means if kangaroos were to invade Wales each person will have to fight 14 kangaroos. 😃
Landlords owning more than 2 rental properties in Ohio are required by law to accept Section 8 applicants. However, the applicant must meet all criteria established by the landlord regarding credit score, wages, criminal background check, evictions, etc. just like any non-Section 8 applicant.
He has to change the carpeting anyways. Why would you want to use carpets strangers been on. Usually Judge Judy calls ppl out for complaining about having to change or fix normal wear and tear between tenants such as carpeting. Idk why she didn't this time.
Hmm well ideally you should just do hardware floors or tile especially if you’re renting but landlords are definitely not obligated to put new flooring down in between each tenant. Judge Judy knows that. No one wants old flooring. If you want brand new flooring then buy your own house or pay for it yourself. Not the landlords to make you feel comfortable unfortunately.
I only accept Section 8 for seniors. I refuse to accept it from anyone else, especially those who decide to have multiple kids by different men. It's just completely disgusting how people act when the receive "free money" to them. Because of their poor planning, we as Americans have to pay for it.
That's actually discrimination which is not a good thing morally or legally. Say it forget it write it regret it as now they have proof of your actively practicing Housing Discrimination. Good luck to ya.
Why do the defendants continue to have comments when they’re not the ones being asked to question they always have to have a snide remark they just can’t shut their mouth
Because she lives and works in our country and ppl are entitled to support from their community. That is what comes with living in a society. We are not solitary creatures, although you are more than welcome to move into a cave in the woods by yourself.
So glad I’m not a landlord because I would be in prison for serious crimes. One is not allowed to replace anything without permission. She has no case.
What a filth bag, sweet Jesus the dirt and filth that some people live in and the audaciousness of people who destroy other peoples property is unbelievable, had the same problem myself in my case they interfered with the gas supply water pressure and electrics, the city turned off the supply. Never ever rent or lease to social tenants again no exceptions despite pleas from the city.
I’m on section 8 in work & go to nursing school, with children, car that I own, & my place was not furnished when I moved in. Security deposit was 1,800 that the government does not help you pay. You can’t have any felonies or be a scammer,if you’re on section 8. So do ya homework before you start judging someone. Half of you ppl wish you could get help , just these gas prices alone makes me appreciate the fact I am receiving assistance because only the lord could save me if I had to pay full rent plus all my other bills that the government does not help pay.🙄🙄 ugh ppl with no knowledge be the loudest ones.
The government paying for you? And you talk about being educated. The government seizes money from the same tax payers you are complaining about being uneducated and then give THEIR money to YOU. You are living off other people ... not a faceless government money fairy.
I was on section 8 forty years ago and they are very picky when they do an inspection. Everything has to be in excellent condition and spotless. The landlord is not telling the truth.
I had my house inspection done by a very reputable engineering company before I bought it. The inspector had all kinds of notes about stuff that really didn’t matter very petty stuff. He said the roof was in good condition with a minimum 10 years left on it. In my garage the one section of drywall looked odd to me he said it was fine I said are u sure it looks puffy like maybe it was wet before but he said no. He noted the door sill next to wall needs repair. 3 months after moving in there is mold growing out of that wall. My father inlaw came over and said the roof of the garage wasn’t built correctly causing water to leak into the wall. I had a couple roofing companies come out and they said not only is the roof shot so is the plywood on the garage roof and half of the house. I called the inspector and he was super rude. So I had to have the roof done soon after buying the house and the framing in the one wall of the garage re built.
There’s a percentage of tenants regardless of circumstances that will be good or bad. I needed govt help for a while but was a good tenant and quickly got on my own feet. Paid tonnes of taxes since. Lol
My uncle took section 8 tenants but got fed up with it. Cost him a lot on repairs.......huge holes on the walls....counters tops used as cutting boards ....leaks that were not being reported and floors and walls ruined...closet doors broken ... . cracked windows etc etc. Sad that because of some spoiled apples everyone pays.
They really need to put a time limit on how long you’re allowed to be dependent on these programs. Welfare was originally intended to be a hand up if you fell on hard times, majority of the time anymore it’s a hand out & there’s no incentive to do better. I know people who have fallen on hard times & needed help getting back on their feet; however, most of the people who get on these programs NEVER get off of them. They make it their lifestyle. They will purposely work less hours or not ever get a job again just so they can keep the food stamps/ section 8/ cash assistance whatever it is. Then the people who lose their job or get injured aren’t able to get anything even though they’ve worked & paid taxes for the last 20 years. They need to change the whole system.
One of the problems with getting off welfare is they do not stair step it, it is all or nothing. If you make one dollar more than what they allow you get cut off even if that comes no where near what welfare was paying. They need to set it up so that if someone makes $100 over a certain amount then Welfare cuts back by $100. That way the person is not left high and dry.
Is it a form of government assistance in the USA. People who are low income go through a process and if approved… the government helps them find housing and the tenant pays a small portion of the rent and the government pays the remaining balance each month.
Isn’t anyone ashamed that they have section 8 housing and trash the place? They get a good portion of the rent paid and the treat the property like crap.
It’s not just section 8. It’s a risk they take with any tenants. Saying it’s because they’re renting to section 8 residents is inaccurate and classist. In his state, I also believe he’s required to accept applications from section 8 residents and cannot turn them down on that basis alone. He can turn them down if they don’t meet his other requirements, but he can’t legally turn them down solely because they are section 8.
These types of cases JJ should recuse herself from given her negative public opinion which borders on classism. She has expressed these opinions in her many books.
@@cynthiaholland13 She has expressed a strange “dislike” for people on public assistance. In her professional life she tries to hide it but in her politics, as in her supporting a man who pushed “stop and frisk” in New York, it shines bright like a star. After listening to that and still watching, every now and again that “dislike” warrants a little extra focus from her. Still entertaining though and she mostly makes reasonable judgments.
Public assistance quickly becomes public reliance. And there’s not enough oversight to ensure abuse of it is taken seriously and ended. The reality of such services is that it doesn’t actually benefit people long term.
@@elvickRULES Yes, I agree but that’s separate from my concern about JJ’s opinions on social issues ie her motivation for being a public supporter of NY’s stop and frisk law. Which wrongfully imprisoned many and destroyed families. One of her books was based solely on her dislike of a particular group.
@@DonAllen80 I totally agree with her. Grown, healthy adults on public assistance makes me sick. It's called getting a job or 2 or 3 until you can support yourself. And you should darn well NOT be having kids of you can't afford them.
