I’ve been abroad for two years now, watching this makes me miss all the ceremonies back home and when my family gather like this. We cooked bulk food, eat together and then I wash the dishes hahah

Why I am crying 😭 Watching them doing this He is such a good grandson,son and nephew A loving brother A loving husband And a loving father now May God continue to bless you jihoon and your family.. Now I'm still crying cos as a daughter I have not done this to my grandparents and my own parents..one day when I'm settle I will do this for them.. We might have differences in religion but the ritual will be the same, offering prayers and good food for them to eat.. Good job 👍👍👍👍👍

@@JJ-yu6og they both died 💔 his father died because of cancer after fighting with it for 2 years & his mom died after 10 days after jihoon dad died 💔💔

I'm so late to watching this video but I'm so impressed with how his wife held back their son physically during the ceremony. She didn't let him run around and create disturbance amongst the elders. Saying this because I've seen many parents let their kids run around during formal or social events and it can be quite disturbing. 🙄

It's kind of similar to our traditional altar in Mexico, we cook the food, drinks and desserts that our beloved ones enjoyed the most. But we don't do this ceremony, we left that for days and it's more to celebrate life, beautiful traditions here and there, keeping in our hearts

i think because Jihoon's father is the first son...so he has to replace his father since he's the only son

No this is Korean culture. Most of the Asian countries have culture of making offering to ancesters despite of religion. How ever the methods are different and heavily influenced by religion.

This is exactly asian concern rn We can't really be alone. We always have those tradition, gathering and such, and we can't avoid it. Since family matters is so much important, and the urge to always respect elders and follow their instruction, younger generation can't change thing that has been there for years immediately or completely.

my friend told me her family got tested even if there are no symptons, to make sure they can still participate in those traditions, I am guessing this is the case with this family too

All I gotta say is, if ya aren't happy with the results. DO IT YOURSELF! This is forced tradition 🙄 They're a bunch of good for nothing relatives taking advantage of their nieces& nephew. 🤬
