I'm traveling to Prague tomorrow from The Netherlands. I've been to Prague many years ago as a toddler, however I can't remember any of that. So I'm going there again. Watching these videos really make me look forward to going there.
@@pavelmedek3968 you really need to Czech yourself, bud. Go Czech out another comment thread if you can’t handle the cheesy dad jokes. You can consider this a Czech-mate ♟️
Dobrý den! My best friend and I booked a trip to Prague for early next year and we’ve been learning Czech and sharing your videos! Grateful to have found your channel and eager to keep learning. Děkuji 🙏🏻
@@trirain146 hence why it seems so touristy to me, no average czech is paying 350 czk for breakfast, that's basically an entire week worth of lunches for me.
It's nice to return to my old study city again soon. I recommend Zahradní restaurace Lavička in Žižkov. Thanks for the honest guide and best harvest. Now is the time to eat vegetables! Greetings from Finland
Hubby and I tried out Cafe Foyer at the Hlavní Nádraží (Prague Central Station) a few weeks ago. HIGHLY highly recommend. Especially for a lunch (they do lasagne).
The Automat Matuska 6:32 is a great place for a beer. I discovered it accidentally when visiting Pivovar Bubenec, my destination the day I visited that I was going to specifically one day, which is a smaller brewery taproom type pub, which had amazing food.
I discovered the Písecká Brána cafe by chance at the beginning of July. I walked up to the castle from Hradčanská, stopped at the cafe for a lemonade and hid from the rain there before continuing up to the Belvedere and the castle gardens, and down into Jelení Příkop. I was really trying to avoid the tourist crowds and it was nice to see landmarks from a different angle.
Unfortunately, we didn’t visit any of these places this past week. Your city is beautiful and we took advantage of many of your tips. Thank you, Connie from Kentucky.
City is beautiful but as far as mynpersonal experience is overcrowded and city guides are simply bad at thier work. They certainly don't do the city a great service.
It's really nice to get a video from you that shows what a wonderful place Prague is. I appreciate your videos and I think your endorsement of these places is worth so much more. I will definitely check these places out when I am next in the city.
I'm going to Prague next Saturday maybe for the 30th time already as I live in Berlin. I visit Prague on different occasions such as the Polyglot Gathering or the Couchsurfing HospEx Festival (every September) Saved those venues, thanks a lot! Also going to some other places such as Ceske Budejovice, thanks to you Honest Guide. BTW what about those money exchange scammers? haven't seen then for a while on this channel
Greetings Janek & Crew: First time commenter. I've been watching your channel for several years now and your videós and narration are top notch and very helpful. I would like to ask where in the world did you learn such impeccable English Janek. It sounds like you have lived or went to school in the United States like maybe the West Coast like California You literally have no accent when you speak English. Keep on making more 🇨🇿 Czech videos they are highly appreciated. Děkuju
You look stylish in a suit. I didn't know Honza was married! I have this image that you two are both young bacelors, married to Prague more than anything.
These places look so stunning. Even in the city where I live in there are plenty of hidden gems, but unfortunately there are some deprived and abandoned places. The local government actually managed to renovate some of them, but it looks so terrible. Prague has a lot of green areas, not in my city tough.
@@dariusionescu726 and that's one of those things, what these guys are doing...yes, they show you nice places, but also the ugly stuff, turist traps, scammers and so on...
im from Luxembourg :) and in Luxembourgish there is literally a saying about free stuff... now after 24 years I finally know which place that is about ;)
Heading to Prague from Munich in a week. Will be frequenting these establishments. Have watched your videos for years. Your concept is great. You should think about franchising it to other European cities. 😊
You guys should come to Westfest in West, Texas this weekend. Sorry for the short notice, but it's this weekend 😂 Biggest czech festival in the USA. Would be interested in your opinion on it!
Hey, thanks for your tips. I was watching your vids when I lived in your city and it really helped me, you are doing a great job! but always wondering why you never mentioned the place ‘U Sadu’ I think their beer Sadek 11 is very close to perfection😊
I have visited two times Prague from India. I want to travel again but I have no sponsor letter means invitation letter. Can you help me for invitation letter? Please reply me.
At the Prosek district? I dated my wife there... nice place, view, good food, adrenaline. Afternoons are a bit crowded. Check their website event calendar before your visit for sure restaurant or ride will not be reserved. For me 8/10.
I will test your tips out in early October. In the last venue, there were three stripes of (?) what? Are they condiments to eat with the meat. I would hate to do a faux pas while dining in Prague. Love the videos btw.
Yes, they were condiments. These lines aren't the usual way you'd get your condiments, you're more likely to get them in small bowls. They were just being fancy.
My parents told me about the Automat, about how it was good food, for cheap. There was one across the street, and down from Smichov metro station, where they had the best meatloaf. Is it still there?
Maybe 10 years ago when I was in Prague, a professor showed us a great coffee place in the opera near the Charles university. The city is full of gems most of the tourists don't know about but I guess that's why they are gems. If everybody starts crowding at those places, their charm will be ruined.
You are misinterpreting. Honza has a wife and Janek has a girlfriend. On that photo, there's also the back of Honza's wife's head. Janek is just congratulating him there as a groomsman, possibly even his best man.
@@vladimiradoshev5310 If you look at the page history, you can see where a random anonymous person just came around and changed the article to say that. It has now been corrected.
@@vladimiradoshev5310 They've mentioned Honza's wife in several videos, and also Janek's girlfriend. To make claims about their supposed marriage to each other, you'd need more than a picture of Honza holding Janek's arm, with Janek in typical groomsman attire and a random person changing a word on Wikipedia. For an edit on Wikipedia to have any weight, editors are supposed to add sources. There was a source for them being friends, but it didn't support the change to them being a gay couple.
Good. They will still be gems, but they may also get more visitors. The train station coffee place or the gate restaurant being so empty is almost criminal. Just so you know, they always make sure that the places are okay with being featured on the show, so they never show a place where they would hate the extra attention.
does anyone have any more information on the guided tour he mentions at the main railway station? cant find any info about this online but interested to find out more
Hnedka vedle automatu je bezvadne moderni vietnamske bistro, sofa japonska kavarna, Silq asijsko- arabska restaurace, a v diplomatu v podzemi asi nejlepší japonska restaurace!
Tourist trap is burrito loco. I went there twice and I'm from California. It did not hit the spot. It's a good attempt though. You can only do so much with the ingredients available.
Hey, i saw in an earlier video of yours about the pid litacka and wanted to ask if it is possible to use it to take a train to dresden. I cant figure it out for myself because the app is mostly in czech. Thank you.
PID litacka only covers the area around Prague (the Central Bohemian Region). It's possible you could get part of your ticket with it and the rest elsewhere but it would be more complicated and it may also just not be available on these long distance fast trains.
