I still don't think he created an alternate timeline, because in the 40s he didn't make changes that would affect the fact that he'll time-travel back to the 40s in 2023. Furthermore, in the film we can see old Steve just sitting on the branch there, this proofs that Steve didn't use the time machine to come back from an alternate timeline.

It's just that he was able to spend the rest of his life with Peggy in the past because He Who Remains is perhaps already killed by Sylvie at that point. If it was Peggy who was captured in the first episode of Loki, then she could be a variant of Captain Carter or someone else.

genuinely wish they would make a short series about Captain America returning each stone, one per episode. and the last episode could be the Soul Stone, him meeting Red Skull once more, and how that kind of encounter plays out after all this time would be really cool to see.

I don’t think this to be true as the tva already said that everything the avengers did was supposed to happen . So it wouldn’t have got their attention. Plus it’s already been confirmed that that person was not Peggy carter. It was just a random woman to show us that the tva had been around for a long time.
Renslayer already mentioned the Avengers going back in time was meant to happen. That also includes Cap returning the stones so that there wouldn't be darker alternate timelines happening as explained by the Ancient One to Professor Hulk during the time leap on 2012

I know this is a late reply but he's saying that a branched timeline was created when a time travelling cap was in that period therefore making another cap as well as everyone else in that branched timeline, however he says kang could kill him after sylvie killed he who remains which was after the peggy was brought in and after season 1 of loki the tva is changed and I haven't watched season 2 yet cause I haven't found the time but still due to that the theory would be wrong and not because of him sitting at the bench. hope this makes sense

No no no that’s the TVA’s designated timeline. Basically he’s saying a rogue timeline was created during Steve roger’s time travel (because especially with time traveling cataclysmic events are more likely to happen due to the volatile nature of time traveling) so Kang had to go ham on him.

Kang from Loki mentioned, that timetravel of Avengers in the Endgame was allowed and didn't create catastrophe, because this time travel was intended. TVA doesn't block time travel possibility, it is trying to prevent timeline instability, which happens not due to time travel, but due to changes in reality.

It could also be that MODOK may have told him. Remember MODOK was the one who picked up the signal and pulled them into the quantum realm. Also, Kang may have killed different antmen in other universes who were not necessarily scott Lang. So for the moniker Antman, yes, he may know but for the name Scott, MODOK informed Kang.
It doesn't kill the theory if you think about it. The old Cap on the bench has to be from another timeline anyways because in order for Cap from the main timeline to be there he would have to have returned via the time machine, by living out his life back in time it would start a new timeline which he would be living in even to the point of modern day

Bruno, Actually you are right but you missed a detail Kang was Confused and thought it was another Ant Man Varient from the Multiverse And Captain was Wearing the Quantum suit which was Similar to Ant Mans suit Pretty much just the colours didn't match. So Kang mistakened Cap as another Kang Varient with the Hammer And Ant Man thought he was Talking bout Thor..

He travelled in the past to make sure that there will be always a variant of him which will become new incarnation of He Who Remains. He created a loop for himself ensuring there will always be He Who Remains ruling over TVA. It’s possible that Kang swallowed by the Power Core didn’t really die and was transfer instead at random point in the past and becomes Victor Timely. (That’s why when Loki came back to TVA everyhing was already converted) He make sure that time travel will always be invented ensuring the foundation of TVA in the process. Loki mentioned it to Mobius that he’s a variant of He Who Remains.

When you create a new timeline its not just one timeline, nows theres multiple universes where he goes back in time and one of them is from when kang killed him.
I had to look for someone to say this. Also I'm pretty sure the TVA stated that the Avengers were meant to travel through time so your theory would probably create a plot hole if this Kang interfere with the time flow.

There’s one problem with what you said about Kang following Steve out of the quantum realm. In AMATW Kang has been trapped there with no way out so how could he have left
1. It wasn't confirmed to be Peggy Carter 2. She was framed for killing Cap yet old captain was sitting in the bench with his shield where young captain left 3. TVA doesn't interfere with Avengers travelling through time because the Avengers where meant to do that in order to win. It was mentioned in the first episode in Loki where Loki is pleading that TVA must arrest the Avengers for time-travelling

kang is from 30 th century. and thor can live a thousand years. it is more feasible he met thor than cap. even if kang went to the past. the possbility meeting steve with a hammer is short. steve could carry the hammer at max for a week until he returned it. comapred to thor who had his hammer for thousand years...
Um respectfully interesting theory but not possible because we see and old aged captain America and it was clear he had his happy ending. I'm aware of marvel doing stupid things to mess up legendary moments but doing something this big off camera is not something marvel does and will be absolutely stupid.
But why would they arrest Peggy? She didn't kill him, and even if she did, why would they care? If anything she would have prevented the timeline from being damaged if she actually did kill him.
Actually he did when Scott says he’s an Avenger, then Kang replies and asks Scott if he’s killed him before; implying that he’s killed at least 1 Avenger or more which would most likely be Thor considering he references Thor right after implying he killed an avenger.

We have to remember as soon as captain went to go back to return the stones in the timeline he already created a branch because he wasn’t gonna return where one he successfully returned the stones and tried to come back to the avengers but I bet kang stopped him on that branch in another timeline which could be the reason for the hammer but the shield is important too. And than the current cap. Lived his life and came back to bring the shield and give it to falcon The only thing is strange why he said are you the guy with the hammer, Why didn’t he say you are not the one with the hammer and shield. So base on this assumption I’m assuming Thor was the one that actually died. The Thor variant he fought probably only had the hammer And not the axe.
