#cars #corolla #toyota #cruisecontrol Did you know some old cars you can just add cruise control to? I didn't find out till I added it to this 2009-2013 Corolla Merch: alphashark-sho...
I've just done this to our 2011 Toyota Verso. £20 and around 30 minutes job later, it's all working as intended. I have no idea why they didn't do this at the factory if all wires and ecu work been done.
the way my heart sunk when i saw this, was incredibly excited to try it, and realized my 2002 corolla was too old to have cruise control even as an option on the wheel lmao
@@AlphaShark :O how can you tell? My Corolla is a super basic CE, no rpm meter, no cd player, and when I look at the wheel there's no panel to remove to install the cruise control. I'd have to rip a new wheel cover from the junkyard or cut the hole myself
highly depends on the car though especially with some older cars you gotta take apart half the dash lmao but overall most cars come with all the options just a lot of them are not plugged in if not spec'd haha
Hi, I have installed cruise control in my 2010 Toyota Corolla CE. The button works and the cruise indicator shows on the dashboard, but when I tried it on the highway at 100 km/h, the car slows down when I remove my foot from the accelerator, even though the dashboard still shows "cruise." How can I fix this issue? Thanks in advance
@AlphaShark from Amazon. Realized that my car vin starts with 2T1 so i think i need to give a wire connect from ecu is this the only way or do i have any alternative? Please confirm. Thanks
Hey dude, great video. I have a 2016 corolla (JDM model) that looks "more modern" than yours however on startup when all lights in the dash are lit I do not see a cruise control symbol (but so is yours). So is there a way to know whether my car has the cruise control function built in? is opening up the steering wheel and looking for that spare connector the only way to do determine?
I have to imagine a 16’ has it built in, but as far as I know opening the wheel is the only way. I know there are some other tutorials on newer Corollas on RU-vid, maybe those videos speak into it?
I've got a 2010 toyota Corolla s version that comes with the switch but has never worked for me. I wonder if i just gotta plug in the cables or something. Lmk if anyone knows anything.
Kudos for the video and setting me on the right course to adding cruise control very economically to my 2010 Toyota Corolla base model. Two feedback recommendations: 1) You harvested your switch component from a salvage vehicle. As an alternative, for basically the same price, I was able to purchase a new switch online. 2) A critical element in my application was removing the electrode pin from the original connector which was underneath the air bag providing the horn function. It had to be inserted in the empty port of the connector of the new cruise switch. By doing do, you keep your horn while adding cruise. Here was the helpful video that made me aware of the issue and the way to fix it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RmB3kU1uEU0.html Again, thank you for posting your video.
All the features are built in, there is no front sensor on older cars. The sensor on newer cars is for radar guided cruise control that automatically slows down for cars in front.
Mine out the door was 895 plus I had to pay a deposit and I have the pay the remaing blance when the work is done never going back to this place I don't care about your 5 star rating
Does anyone know the part number for this specific wire that plugs into the cruise control lever and the horn? I found the cruise control assembly but not the wire.
same thing for me did not work even with new clockspring and CC switch tested all wire !!! nothing happened no cruise light nothing corolla 2010 e140 3zz-fe
You’re the second to ask that, I do not know since it is not available in the U.S. market, the easiest way to tell would be able to take the front part of the steer cap off like I instruct in the video and see if you Hi-Ace has the plug.
I have a huge challenge for anyone interested! I want cruise on my 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser Prodo and I can't find a thing in all my searching. Anyone know?
I recently did this for a 1998 rav4 that had a broken cruise control. You should be able to do it, seems like Toyota back then wanted to make things easier on the customers
I have to imagine it must since it uses Toyota’s infrastructure. I would Google it to see if someone else ever has, and if someone has then it’s a green light!
