I purchased your Lightroom Everywhere course. And I have switched from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom on the web. I enjoyed your course. It was very educational. And I am glad I made the switch. Glad to see how you are Integrating PS with Lightroom everywhere. I’ve become a great fan.

Right?!? I found it a while ago totally by accident. At first, I was like, “this can’t be real.” I hope Adobe implements it into LR soon!

im glad you addressed the lackluster features in LRM. as someone who prefers tablets/mobile for editing, we really do need the full features that the desktop version has. i dont believe its a processor performance issue because tablets and mobiles now are very capable of running windows apps especially editing tools. i hope we see more improvements in the future with regards to LRM

Another informative video Brian … you explain and display things so simply. PS Thanks for your instructions on how to fix converging lines … I have managed to straighten lots of my images of building frontages. I am considering purchasing Lightroom Everywhere. Cheers Chris, your mate from Adelaide, Australia

G'day Chris! Thanks so much for the kind words - it really does mean the world to me and makes the video creation process completely worth it. Yeah, the geometry correction is SO powerful, but it's also SO hidden. I sometimes take for granted that I know such tools are there, and need to keep in mind that just because I know of it doesn't mean that other do, too. This is a great example of that. And I do hope to see you in Lightroom Everywhere! I've had a blast interacting with the students via the comments module on each lesson. Cheers, mate!

Hi Brian, I am about to start doing some "road trips" and started watching some of your videos to formulate a work flow that will enable me to edit some images while away from my desktop and LRC..................you are starting to convince me to try "just" using LR for mobile and on my desktop. 👍🙏

I started editing using Lightroom on iPad, but moved to the MacBook and using Lightroom Classic mainly for the denoise facilities. I may move back to the iPad if Adobe ever add the denoise to the iPad version of Lightroom

As a Lightroom Classic user, who also has iPad Pro this is very interesting, if only to work on editing photos when out and about without my MacBook. I just wish the denoise function was available on iPad. Being a wildlife photographer my photos are often taken in low light with noise I want to remove and that is big feature missing from the mobile Lightroom, with no alternative denoise apps of which I am aware.
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 8 месяцев назад
I agree 100%. I wish we had the denoise AI functionality on mobile AND I wish it'd work on any image type, not just RAW/DNG. I suspect we'll see that eventually, though. Just remember that if you import your photos into LRC first, it will only sync Smart Previews. In order to sync full-resolution files, you need to import them into LR Desktop or Mobile.

I’m still missing Sky replacement in photoshop on the iPad. Perhaps I overlooked it as it is there on the MacBook and PC version. Also if it is there, is there a way to add your own skies to the library on your iPad for photoshop to work with?

Hello Brian, I purchased your course LR anywhere. Coming from LRC and win11 machine and iphone 15pro max, I would be very interested by a short comparison between ipad versions. I have read that you use a 12.9 ipad pro M1. it is now M2 and very expensive. Do you see any difference between air 5th generation and ipad pro ? i have read that we need mini led of ipad pro for better color rendering...
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 6 месяцев назад
Hey Marc, you are correct in that I use a 12.9" iPad Pro M1 with 512 GB of storage. I bought it used from someone locally and absolutely love it. I don't know enough about the Air to say whether it'd be a suitable alternative, but I suspect that it should do a great job too. My recommendation would be to look for a used version of the M1 iPad Pro (either size) and ensure that it is kept in good condition. I got mine for way cheaper than what a new M2 would cost.

Lightroom even works absolutely fantastic on the iPad mini 6 which I have been using for the last year and a half. I recently got myself the 12’9” iPad Pro (M1) and boy is editing on a bigger screen a better experience. But it will just work. Any iPad that is less then 5 years old will do the job.

Hi Brian, I have recently joined a local camera club which requires images to be re-sized to 3840x2160 pixels so they can be displayed on the club’s TV screen. Frustratingly, I am having trouble with this procedure. Can this be done on Lightroom Mobile using my new iPad Pro 12.9? Would greatly appreciate your help. Cheers, your Aussie mate from Adelaide
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 8 месяцев назад
Hey there, Chris. Unfortunately and maddeningly, Lightroom Mobile only lets you resize the long end of an image. However, you do have an alternative. There is a nifty app called Image Size for the iPad and iPhone (apps.apple.com/us/app/image-size/id670766542). It's very straightforward, allowing you to open any photo in your camera roll (so you'd first want to export the image out of LR on your iPad) and then open it in this app. Once there, you can specify any W and H pixel value, and reposition your photo accordingly. It does serve ads, but you can pay to remove them if it bothers you. I hope that helps, mate!

Thank you . I appreciate content of your mobile editing RU-vids but something that has scared me off is the cost of Lightroom Cloud storage per month / annually at about USD 10 per tb . At roughly 25000 raw per TB ..it becomes expensive for 100000
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 9 месяцев назад
Your fear is 100% warranted. If you have a huge library and want to sync the entirety of it, then that could get expensive (depending on the actual library size). At the risk of shamelessly plugging my course, Lightroom Everywhere, I do go into great detail about how you can choose which photos to sync and which can be stored locally and managed using LRC. www.matiash.com/lightroomeverywhere

What if the original is in LrC and Lr just has the preview? Is there a way to get the original to pass to Ps?
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 9 месяцев назад
As long as the original file is synced to Lightroom cloud, then the app will download it before opening it up in PS. In the video, I downloaded the original file in advance to save time during recording.

@@brianmatiash My originals are all in LrC and the cloud sync put previews in the cloud. Is there a way to force an original from LrC to the the cloud?
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 9 месяцев назад
Ahhh, I see. Unfortunately, LRC will only sync Smart Previews to the cloud if the original files were first imported there. With that said, these smart previews do not count against your Adobe cloud quota. There is no way that I know of to force originals to sync to the Adobe cloud via LRC. If you were to import your photos into LR (Desktop or Mobile), the original files would sync to the cloud, be available everywhere, and would be downloaded into LRC. On the other hand, these original files do count against your Adobe cloud quota.

As Always nice work/tutorial thanks a lot, but besides the main topic I would like to mention one thing which is more about Adobe prices. Please if some people like you talk about this kind of things a lot maybe Adobe finally will change something. For example, I would love to use Photoshop on my iPad, but unfortunately, Adobe makes it impossible, it is too expensive, 10$ a month why ??? Right now I use Lightroom for iPad for 1.99$ a month but why does Photoshop for iPad cost 10$? When they charge for the desktop version 10 or 20$ I understand that, because it is a full version professional program, but for the mobile version they need to cut the price. Not everyone in this world is a full-time professional photographer who has a lot of income from photography and they can afford that much subscription plan. But enthusiasts who want to use very good programs for editing can’t afford that much subscription plan, at least the mobile version can be both Lightroom and Photoshop let’s say 5$ a month.
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 8 месяцев назад
Thank you for watching the video and for taking the time to leave this thoughtful and important comment. The hardest part is knowing that I really have no power in how Adobe determines pricing. I do believe that they take such things very seriously. But, at the end of the day, they are a business with the goal of earning revenue. Now, I do believe that Adobe's offerings are some of the most powerful on the market, and they are priced effectively when you consider what you get. I do agree that having a mobile/web-only plan would be a good idea, especially since there are web apps for LR and PS. My best recommendation is to reach out to Adobe as a customer and explain your frustrations. There is no clearer signal than that of the customer.

@@brianmatiash my point is when a lot of creaters, youtube video makers, photographers like you start to talk about this kind of things very often, maybe they will start to realize that majority of people, enthusiasts, profesionnals and in general a lot of people talking about this, and they need to change something or offer other more affordable options
