I'm a Lightroom Software Quality Engineer at Adobe. I also share weekly videos for Lightroom users who want to edit on any device, take better photos with any camera, and streamline their gear.
Great tips. Does running Denoise AI change the results? I have read on DP Review that Denoise AI deletes all edits, does Denoise AI, then adds back edits and AI removals can be altered. Is this true?
As a person who is traditionally a tech bro and does photography as more of a hobby I do not want to sync anything to the cloud ever. I have my own backup solution across multiple locations following the 3, 2, 1 principal adobe and other cloud providers have lost too many people's data too many times for it to be reliable. I wish i could have the superior lightroom CC software that is faster and nicer looking but entirely local no cloud at all I was hoping this would work for that, but having just a file browser without proper organisation doesn't help (if you want to use albums you have to sync to the cloud, no local catalogue file, no ability to choose how the catalogue file is managed)
YES, please do more of these!!!!! and I agree with @rml... You are a born talented teacher.... I am always helped by your videos....Do you. use a tri or mono pod?
Brian, once again, this is GREAT information..... you are the BEST,,,, You were very helpful, and you increased my knowledge and understanding of the power of AI and Gen Remove..... Truly appreciate itl
Curious if Lightroom on the iPad or iPhone is ever going to see AI denoise? Seems odd to me, the iPad Mini 6 I've got has an M2-equivalent architecture, a new iPhone 16 Pro Max has an M4 equivalent chipset, and of course you can get iPad Pro's with the M4. And yet none of them can do denoise, but my Macbook with an M1 can? Seems like some artificial product segmentation to me for some reason.
Great tips on how to optimize the use of the tools and let the AI help yourself. Especially the tip about multiple selections in one removal attempt. Am I right or wrong in assuming when doing 4 areas in one Remove it will still cost you four credits?
I KNEW I forgot to include something in the crop tip! Definitely apply gen remove BEFORE using lens correction because that will also apply a minor crop when fixing distortion issues. Thank you for the reminder!
Yeah, I think the whole "using gen remove after cropping" has been one of this biggest culprits for users not getting optimal results. Same with not including shadows/reflections.
Hi Brian, the ability to edit in 3rd party apps seems quite limited in its use or, at best, extremely awkward. While Topaz AI and Gigapixel AI allow saving to original album, other apps such as ON1 and Luminar Neo require you to select a specific folder location for saving rather than just specifying 'original'. As such, you would have to save to a local folder then open it in the Local browser in Lr and copy it to the cloud folder. Am I missing something here?
Hi again. I've found a solution to this. I created a folder on my desktop titled 'External Edits for Lightroom' and when I've finished editing in Neo or ON1 I export to that folder ( i'm doing the same for Topaz as well because I find it seems to be hit and miss). Back in Lightroom, rather that hitting save, I hit Browse and then select the file from the folder on my desktop. So far it has worked flawlessly with the different files and apps I've tried.
I have iPad Pro M1 and I have Lightroom on it I can’t see this new icon that I see in your video and I have an account for Lightroom on my Mac also Any advice ? Thanks
Great video, very informative. Would love to see a video on how best to use an iPAD for photo editing. For example what would a 2024 iPad Air offer that I can’t do on an iPhone? What do I still need a desktop for? Thanks
