This meta definitely is the "I didn't get scammed" meta. I had not been getting past 8 even on good decks, then randomly 12-1 on a Dr. Stitchensew with reborn location, and a few other similar synergies. I would have been super screwed if I met any of the high tier mages that had Freeze copies, but saw like 0 that style of decks. It got Hexed often, but managed to bait out Hexes often.
Agreed! Good play and skill level still go far (like for example, you said you managed to bait out hexes etc.), but nowadays, there are multiple punishes for things, and taking certain risks to win is important - if it happens they're all punished, then that run is probably doomed.
Are you talking about hero powering the Eye of Chaos, What was the alternative? The opponent had Malted Magma in hand from the tentacle so his Gemtosser was just dead next turn, better to use the 3/1 in combination with his hero power to trade and protect his future 3/5 taunts off of the drake.
That's true. I took 4 (not 5) extra damage there. A little misplay from me. Didn't notice at the time. I'm the first to admit I make misplays too, never denied that. I guess having 99% of your plays be of a top calibre in over-arching game planning to the point where most people would not make similar plays does not matter at all in being a good player if you make 1% error. Makes sense. I'll do better 🙂
