Thank you for sharing your findings. At the moment my lawn repair is at day 9 since seeding, day 4 since germination (PRG). Areas in the shade have amazing germination while some fully sun bathed spots have almost zero, and tend to get dry after almost an hour of watering (daily highs in upper 80s, low temps around 60). Last night I doubled on the overseed and added more peat moss on the trouble spots. Looking forward on seing your update on the next itteration. I hope we will get through it nicely

Storm hit Wilson on my bare seeded front yard 😢 3 inches Sunday. Got home from vaca to shovel up dirt and seed from driveway and redistribute. It could’ve been worse. I’ve enjoyed using you Pete and home lawn care with Greg in my new lawn journey. Thanks for great content.

I watch soil temperatures in fall and wait until they are 67-70 before seeding. I have found I get better and more complete germination. Fescue does best at these temperatures I have found.

Great video. Is there such a thing as too much water? Temps here are in the low 90"s and this week we'll have days over 100. "Baby grass" is just poking it's head out. Currently running 4 cycles (6:00,11:00,2:00,5:00) putting down about 3/4" total per day. Been checking for any dry spots. Am I getting it about right? Thanks.

@@HighlifeSAP yes. You can put too much water at time of seeding. You can put down so much it floats the seed, which isn’t ideal. The purpose is just to keep it moist, and wet. Totally different than watering the entire lawn due to no water.

I watched your video when you began your renovation after an 18 hole morning. I can’t believe how much work you put in after playing. Your video pushed me to start my lawn renovation here in Long Island, NY. My yard is small compared to yours and I was gassed after all the work I put in. I’m following your advice and hoping for the best for yourself and me. Thanks for the great content!

Thank you for your videos this update makes me think I got lucky. I planted for the first time GCI TTTF on Aug 23 and now 10 days later 10 days later, my baby grass is between three and 4 inches. Unlike you I didn’t throw down any starter fertilizer when seeding. I waited until I saw germination and used a liquid fertilizer mixed with cytogrow. I’m 40 mins north of charlotte so not to far from you.

check your local big box for a Grass Seed Germination and Erosion Control Blanket ...redid my entire front and used the blankets to help make sure seed didnt wash away or become food and couldnt be happier

Last year and this, I've overseed and had a 3ksf total renovation in soil temps at 75°. Daytime air temps in the low 90s. I used Regenerate TTTF and Everest KBG, both pregerminate. I had germination in 4 days and overall very good results, very good. The key as always is...keep it moist

I have also noticed about an 8 day germination period. Also using gci tttf. Grew some grass in a container 3 times over summer before my overseed which i just did saturday. Each time the germination period was 8 days.

I just got done yesterday cleaning dead grass out, pocking holes all over my yard and today is seeding and I got 40 bags of top soil at WalMart for a buck a bag! My yard has taken a beating and I'm sure all my neighbors think I'm crazy but in about two weeks they will be going " I get what he did now" . By the way when I first did my yard, killing off everything it came up in 5 days but over a two week or so time it really popped out. My yard look like the church almost in many places. we had a ton of rain sun about 5 pm, needed it bad!! Im trying to level a few small areas then seed in a few days...man has it been humid!!! So ready for fall.
