How I long for South Africa. Her beauty and her people. Her freedom and prosperity. I ache for the days where it was safe enough to walk on her beaches, mountains, forests and valleys, and be immersed in her magnificence. To walk the friendly streets of her towns and cities, where things worked and were properly maintained. The houses, so unaffected by crime that there were no perimeter walls and often no key for the front door. The corner Portuguese grocers where a Rand still had worth. Magnificent parks and recreation areas, competently kept and safe for children to play in. I miss the yellow police vans carrying policemen you could trust. I dream, about travelling on well built and maintained roads, through spectacular scenery, using fuel that is not taxed so heavily, that a bank loan is required to fill your tank. To be able to stop and breathe in the views without constant threat of murder, rape and theft. I miss feeling safe in my home and work environment. I experience deep sadness when i remember how I felt, Saluting our flag and singing our national anthem. I am a South African. The soil of South Africa is my home. I will not be told that i do not belong here. To reminisce over the past is healthier than to fume over the future. The future makes me rage. "ons sal lewe, ons sal sterwe. Ons vir Jou Suid Africa"

as a dutch person I could understand him very easy but afrikaans is 95 precent dutch so i guess mensen hou van jullie taal ons nederlanders respecteren jullie en jullie voorouders want jullie zijn toch een beetje Nederlands.
South Africa has a rich and varied history. I believe in equal rights for all races in the world. Blacks and whites should be equal in South Africa. But under dictator Zuma, equality is being thrown into the dustbin. White South Africans have a right to their heritage, whether it be Boer or British. The statues and monuments are a part of that heritage. If South Africa isn't careful, it will become another repressive country like Zimbabwe.
The question that you must ask what is coming and why now this distraction. Why now after years and why go all out when Mugabe is in South Africa what are they planning and are every one ready??
