The love of my life and I call this song ours. I knew what it was really about from the first time I heard it. At the time, him and I have been dating for a little while and we both noticed we didn’t have “our song”. I believe it was my junior prom when he said, “the next song that plays is our song, alright?” I laughed because we both knew we might be in trouble. And this song played. This was before him and I were ever really intimidate with each other, but this song just clicked. We are still together. Over 5 years. Engaged now. I’m nervous about playing this song at our wedding because it’s really about “the dirty”, but it means so much more. And Bentley puts it into so much more meaning. And this song still means so much to me, and I believe it will for a long time with him. At the end of the day, the little argument you had earlier won’t impact a thing if your loved one means that much to you. Love each other like it’s the last. I always thought that Tracy Byrd or Johnny Cash or George Strait would bring me “our song”, but nothing will ever compare to this song we share together. I love Dierks Bentley a little more every day.

I’m not kidding. This is my first year of listening to the horizon music award and that’s when he won singing this song for the first time ever on a show I think. He was so talented and so much more than one of the greatest singers ever to be nominated for the best horizon award in my opinion. Not to mention he’s so sexy singing it

She sang this incessantly. 2 days post release for her, a friend of hers mocked her. She was dead in 6 hours with this in the background. I thank God she had this song, a talisman, to smile for.
