+TOY Works Autocrafters does it work with all of the 4wd stuff too? I'm on the fence about it but I'm interested in the tires swap. Do you have a website that has all the prices?
Got pretty much the same conversion 97 four runner ALH VW TDI what would it cost to get one of those brackets that hold the alternator and Power steering pump and air conditioning compressor ?
So basically, you made your own mounts to the existing power steering, ac, and alternator bracket to where they were before with the 3.4. I am curious as to how you did the electrical/wiring harness, cause obviously you kept the stock on for the alternator and ac. I'm assuming you just tapped into the sensors with the old harness?
@toyworks, is it possible to swap in the newer 2.0 TDI? I have a motor available for. an 09 jetta tdi. is it too computer controlled to be worth the time?
do you still make the components for this swap? motor mounts adapter brackets etc... I have gotten my hands on a motor and am considering retiring my fuel hungry 3.4 but am having trouble finding mounts online or anything about your company. I'm in Washington state. thanks
Down here in australia aint nobody understand how much i wanna do this conversion...i get loooked at like im an alien from what planet. Please help can i get a kit from you still?
I was seconds away from buying a Cummins r2.8 and I stumbled on this. Im having difficulty find a website. Ive already sourced an r150f and 1.9L tdi. How can I source bellhousing/input adapters, bekt adapters and mounts? Thanks. I did find one website but, it was 30,000 for the kit. Yikes.
Hello Phillip. I don't think I can answer that question. There would be so many variables to figure out which each conversion would cost; price of engines, price of kit, whom is doing install - price for labour, upgrades to engine, etc. If the truck were here at our facility doing a complete 1.9 diesel swap, turn key driving out would start at $6500 and depending on upgrades and which VW 1.9TD/TDi engine is chosen. Could go substantially higher. What I do know is, the torque and fuel economy of the 3.4 will not come close to the 1.9 diesel. Hello Cole Depending on which version of the VW TDi engine you use, you may need to modify the oil pan. Our kits are designed to fit in a stock height unmodified Toyota Truck/Tacoma/4Runner. But as far as we are aware, we are the only people who are keeping the original Toyota power steering pump, Toyota alternator, and Toyota air-conditioning compressor. It would appear we have a very different methodology for installing these compared to everyone else. S.C.Lawrence M.P.G. Conversions thetoydoc@hotmail.com 519-938-9844
