I had a 800 rpm 6/1 in Texas I ran on waste motor oil at 300 rpm and got 8 hrs to a gallon. After 3 years and 4800 hrs zero carbon on the piston. I ran it through a centrifuge to 5 micron, heated it to remove water and brought acidity down to neutral. Will keep in storage indefinately.
Bellissimo video Mi piace tantissimo il motore Lister Nel mio stato Italia non esistono questi motori Ho fatto dei video di quello che faccio io con quello che trovo qui . Complimenti bel lavoro
@@hamadilawson4396 they are illegal in the state (epa regulations) but you can import an air pump wich is exactly the same as the 6/1 without the fuel system ( which you can easily find on line).
For sure you can, the trick is to have a dual tank that you can switch back and forth. One of the tank with regular diesel to start and warm up the engine then switch to bunker oil to operate the machine and just before shutting down switch back again to diesel to diesel to clean up the fuel system
would bunker oil, properly heated to good viscosity, change performance or leave buildups? should maintenance change? affect on power or g/kwh? no.6 bunker is 151-155k btu/volume and no 1 diesel is 132-137k btu/volume
Greetings, I am having a hard time getting a lister 6/1 clone here in the US. I heard that you can buy the air compressor model and change the head. I use a Yanmar diesel. It is very fuel efficient but I dream of something quiet like the 6/1 @750RPM.
Hi I know those guys ship in the great USA, www.justliveoffgrid.com/ and from what I understand the air compressor is exactly like the 6/1 without the fuel system. For the fuel system check out Central Maine Diesel (State of Maine) www.centralmainediesel.com/
If you buy a new Listeroid in a crate remember to go through it with a fine tooth comb before start up. The crankcase will have sand in the castings which will destroy your bearings etc..! Once cleaned they are a strong reliable engine!
