I just got my SF120 heater last week and i'm in love. Works great in an older shop where you may have a little bit of a draft. Will also be usuable for most people with a non insulated shop as it can grow with you and be used once you do have an insulated shop.

The drop test to assess quality. Nicely done and it survived. Directional infra-red heat but heated floors would be nice. Thinking an oil burner convection heater would be more akin to a space heater but it's all about venting. Make sure there's carbon monoxide alarms installed in lower dead air spaces.

Radiant solar floor heat in NC isn't something that's very common simply because we don't get the extreme temps my brother. If were in colorado...heck yes...I'd have a geothermal floor heating system...but here the temps outside can be 9 degrees and the shop is 46 without any heat. It all depends on your location my friend...we determined it wouldn't be cost effective

These work different than those heaters. Behind the front "dome face" that looks like a glowing "sun", there is a cone shaped cylinder and inside that chamber is where the fuel is circulated in a vortex like a tornado and is sup so perfectly that it burns every droplet of fuel to leave no residue, smell, or fumes behind. The flame heats up the front dome that glows bright orange red that makes the infrared radiant energy to warm objects and people in front of it without having to blow air.

2 of my neighbors have them and they totally suck!!! They eat wood like it's nobody's business, heated floors in NC are a waste of time and money because we don't get that cold out. Both my neighbors go through about a truck load of wood every week/2 weeks to run a darn water heater and heat 1500 sq ft homes. Smoke, trash, ash, mess and time....there's a reason why there are abandoned outdoor wood furnaces all over the internet for sale...they are simply a pile of work and expense to spend more burning wood that you'd spend running with electric or gas, however...I might eat those words one day if we can't get electricity lol

$3k for this seems a bit steep. What's the difference between this and the regular "torpedo heaters" that can also run on kerosene or diesel? (Besides the $2,500 difference, that is)
@Sunfireheaters
@Sunfireheaters 6 месяцев назад
This one is $2,395 but these have no smell, no fumes, and are more quiet. They are also built to last about 7-10 years longer than a torpedo heater. we understand it's not for everyone, but for those using it for their commercial shop or farm, many love it since they no longer have to smell the fumes and get headaches. We also build in the USA instead of China which comes at a cost as well.

@emolasher
@emolasher 4 месяца назад
Those are $2500... diesel is 138,000BTU(40kwh)/gal which is $4. 15 cents per kwh is common for electric, add in the cost for buying a good humidifier so everything doesnt rust, and the electricity for that. Plus the hassle of refueling, dealing with carbon monoxide, proper ventilation, fans to move air, fire risk, and insurance issues. AND this only works for heating not cooling.. why?!? Get yourself a 36BTU ductless minisplit for $2000. It has a heat pump so its usually 3-6x as efficient as just using the electricity with an electric heater. If you have a smaller garage, workshop you can get by with even just a $700 minisplit. It takes a couple hours to install, and the lines are precharged.

We get this quite a bit. The carbon monoxide from other products comes from an inefficient burn. Our technology burns every droplet of fuel without allowing fuel particulates escape that are not fully burned. The burner must be kept properly tuned and the fuel needs to be clean and not dirty of course.

@@Sunfireheaters will these run on Jet A?
@davidsmith-pz3qg
@davidsmith-pz3qg 5 месяцев назад
Carbon monoxide is produced when the fuel / are ratio is not efficient. I have a wall heater in my sun room. When it first lights up, it doesn't burn very clean. It produces flickering orange flames. Once it gets going, it's only crisp blue flames with an occasional orange flicker. That's a sign that it's working efficiently and not producing carbon monoxide. I'm no expert, but I assume there's still a very small amount of byproducts, but the amount is negligible.

Your "Fair Share" comment struck a nerve, I live in a CO county ran by sheep herders and ranchers, the county contains the #2 natural gas reserve in the nation as well as a healthy oilfield that produces a fair amount of oil. Whenever Oil & Gas attempts to do anything 100 layers of expensive permits / inspections and fines are common. On the other end of the county if a ranch building is needed just pay a nominal fee and get a "good luck with the build call us if you have question's".. No inspections ever unless he wants to stop by and chew the hay with you about hunting on their land.. The "Greedy" end of the county goes out of it's way to make the O & G Co's and their employees pay their "Fair Share" they even coined that phrase for the "stick it to em grin" they share with one another at the local shops.. So if you dislike your heating / fuel / food bills thank the local, state & federal gvt (They make more profit from the energy than the energy companies do). What i pay for a 2,000 sq ft shop on a 100 x 120 ft lot Is the same as what they pay on 2,500 acres of prime farm land with buildings. they inform me it's commercial so you get charged more.. Well the same rate should apply too you as your making money off your land / buildings as well (most sell expense hunting or offer the pay too play a cowboy vacation packages) some even get federal farm subsidies thrown in on top of that... Like you I'm smart enough to know where food comes from how it's delivered and what heats the houses & factories and what's on the backside of the light switch. Grazing on public lands drastically reduces wild fire hazards. But why do we penalize productive people and the Companies that pay good wages, while rewarding the lazy? I guess I just said my "Fair Share" on the subject. PS I Love you content, keep it up.. Oh and rather it be code enforcement or law related the "We got a call" must be properly vetted and documented prior to the response. The next time that is thrown at you ask for the caller ID log number on the complaint.. Most of the time it is "Little Lies" which they are allowed to tell to gather information..

Nice but $2,500.00 is a lot to think about.

how much does a good wood stove cost? Man...I know it's expensive...and there's some good ol cheap chinese garbage out there that will heat a space, but having the peace of mind of a quality product, made in USA that will last a lifetime v/s choking on the fumes of a cheap heater is priceless

As expensive as diesel is now , Not happening.. I rather use waist oil heater . Easy to build and cost is zero for fuel.. Can heat the entire place remarkably with no fuel cost at my place, and it will have no emissions inside.

Dumping a $3,000.00 heater off a loader to see if you can break it is pretty dumb ass......but did enjoy the video.

He paid $0 for it and gets paid by views, so it's actually pretty smart.
