ABOUT DIFF'RENT STROKES: Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis? Gary Coleman became a child superstar playing the lovable, mischievous Arnold in this comedy series that brought issues of race and class into American living rooms in the ‘70s and ‘80s. The series begins with Arnold and Willis; two African-American brothers from Harlem going from rags to riches, overnight.

Arnold's dad says that sometimes the way people feel affects the way they act. Her parents explained to Mr. Drumman earlier that Suzy is in and out of the hospital so much spending so much time away from school and the kids. It's emotionally hard on her. They explain that Suzy desperately wants to make friends but she just tries TOO HARD. She thinks she has to show off and play jokes to make the other kids like her but instead it usually annoys them and turns them away from her. Since she's not around other kids regularly, she doesn't know how to socialize with them the right way.
@judychang8760
@judychang8760 3 года назад
Yes. But the parents didn't explain that to ARNOLD. Which is why Mr. Drummond is pretty much paraphrasing what the parents already said, so that Arnold can understand.

@dyingbreed5386
@dyingbreed5386 2 года назад
Yeah, because encouraging a little bit of compassion and understanding for someone who is ill is just about the worst thing I can think of... Seriously though. When did it become such a no no to use comedy to open a channel to address serious issues? Its been a very successful tactic, like forever, because blending comedy into a serious situation relives some of the tension which helps to open people up. It can also be a great coping tool for those struggling with a serious, and/ or potentially life threatening condition. Basically what im saying is toughen up buttercup; there was zero malice in this depiction. If its you dealing with a similar issue recognize that this "insult" likely taught thousands of children the concept of compassion and idea of putting themselves in another person's shoes before jumping to judgment. If this issue has not effected you then stop simping for a pre-teen fictitious character. It's not a good look...
