Mr Drummond (Conrad Bain) doesn't want Willis (Todd Bridges) to spend time with his girlfriend Charlene (Janet Jackson), so he has her sneak in their house and it's up to Arnold (Gary Coleman) and Kimberly (Dana Plato) to help them out.
From Season 3 Episode 7 "First Love" - With his grades down, Drummond forbids Willis to see his new girlfriend, Charlene. However, a love-struck Willis is determined to see her, even if it means doing it behind Drummond's back.

ABOUT DIFF'RENT STROKES: Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis? Gary Coleman became a child superstar playing the lovable, mischievous Arnold in this comedy series that brought issues of race and class into American living rooms in the ‘70s and ‘80s. The series begins with Arnold and Willis; two African-American brothers from Harlem going from rags to riches, overnight.

RIP Gary Coleman, Dana Plato and Conrad Bain ❤💕🙏

Yeah, we grew on her up these people. They were such a staple in our lives, coming through our living rooms for years. And now they're gone. It's heartbreaking to this day. And the way Gary and Dana died makes it's more sad. At least with Conrad, it was natural causes. He was almost 90, having outlived Gary and Dana. Now Todd is the last man standing from this show. I wonder how that must feel for him. We could have lost him to drugs. Thankfully he survived and pulled it together.
