Good comparison. But for the guitar part. You should place the mic at the top and bottom not L and R.

Probably depends on the application, but I do like the clarity of the 105. I really like the way it sounds in certain mixes usually on female vocals, there is a cover of What Goes Around by Justin Timberlake by Keys (and some thing) where I feel like it works really well and it just sounds really good. I think in your case, the transparent sound works well, but I think the 58 works better when you want a hard grunt character to the sound, like rock where too much clarity in the vocal can be distracting, like rage against the machine’s first album

I liked the KMS105 a little better. It sounded more musical to me.

damn i been using the sm58 for years and it so amazing to know that sound quality from back in the 80s is still competant beating all the new mics being made like 80s mics are destroying 2024 mics putting our new better tecnologies to shame even shure cant compete with its own OLD gem of a mic and releasing some of the worse mics- honestly they both sound good but dang the ksm105 sound like a condenser sm58 with more power and mmmuuufff . what shure should have done and focus there attention on they know the sm58 is a great mic but they just wouldnt do any upgrades or anything to make that mic more standout - want a upgrade go for the ksm105 thats what im doing cause its time to retire my old friend sm58 and put it in my collection display - using my sennheiser ie900 earphones you immediately know the difference in sounds. i have a hard time figuring it out when im using other earphones or stereos if you do a blind test definitely ksm105 just have more presence then the sm58 and that is a good mic already thuis a perfect upgrade
