@sakuramakoto4261 if your going to be staying only in Tokyo and using only metro trains then get any to the following: Suica Welcome Suica Pasmo The suica card will have a 500yen admin fee when you fist purchase it on top of the money you put in to charge, the good thing with this card is that there is no limit on the days you can use it for. If you are planning to go to different towns you might need a JR pass or Shinkansen ticket. It would be best to go to the JR station and ask the JR desk. Hope this helps

Glad you found the video helpful! Since you’re arriving Tokyo first, you can get the welcome Suica card and use it in Osaka too. If you have an iPhone, you can even add it into your wallet and load it prior to your Japan trip 😊

Just get any of the main IC cards the locals use. Literally no difference. Suica (Tokyo), toica (Nagoya), icoca (Osaka/Kyoto) or kitaca (Sapporo). They are accepted all over Japan and you can use them again when you come back to Japan (within 10 years). You can refund the balance in a jar office. There are tourist IC cards but expire at 28 days with no refund on the remaining balance.

Does this work with non Japanese phones too? Because suicanand pasmo don't, because they depend on some specifications that are only met by Japanese market phones...

I thought you could use suica in Tokyo/kyoto - I’m pretty sure as I used it in the bus on Kyoto and on the trains in Osaka 😅
@itsgracechin

You can use Suica anywhere in Japan! You just can’t use it to travel from one region to another (separate train/bulletin train tickets) 😊
@mofo02

@@itsgracechin yeah that’s a shame, it would be so easy just using suica everywhere lol. Although when I was travelling back in March, even with the JR pass there was so many people at the kiosk then we just went straight to the train but had to sit in the unreserved section of the train which is where a lot of people was in … 🤪

If i get a Passmo in Tokyo...can i still use it in Osaka, Kyoto & Nara?
@TitillatingCosplay
@TitillatingCosplay 3 месяца назад
Yes you can, the only difference is where you get them. They are all Integrated Circuit cards and can be used and recharged in any city. The only places you cant use them are places that just plain dont take IC cards for payment (restaurants, little shop stalls, and the like). You can use your Passmo for trains in any city. Source: I used my Suica card bought in Tokyo for the trains and buses (and 7-11s) in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara!
