just wanted to say that's your RU-vid channel has been helpful my girlfriend had a stroke January 7th of this year did not have no insurance so wasn't accepted anywhere for a physical therapy or anything else I've been her physical therapist and 24/7 Home Health Care with no help for the last 7 months we have used your exercises and I've cine great improvements just lacking her left arm on getting better she's walking with a cane and other day today activities that seemed normal for us a very hard for her I would love to get a hold of any free products or suggestions that would help her arm I'm taking her to the pool and try to do as many exercises I can anything that you give me advice on please do thank you so much

God Bless you, Andrew, I hope she is still improving; had a stroke myself ( certainly isn't fun, but I'm still here! My wife has been my main caretaker and I can't see my recovery without her. I'm sure you are more valuable than you may know! Some things take time, but small steps in improving are key to opening things to getting things back to closer to normal. Also, look up Dr. Tara Tobias for great info on good recovery exercises

Bob and Brad - I watch your videos all the time. I'm still not clear how ems differs from tens. I've used a tens device for more than 10 years. It will act as an ems if the pads are placed correctly.

I have a TENS for chronic pain as well. I fugured out there is one special program for the muscles, the pulse is deeper it feels and longer. But indeed you need to know where to place the stickers. I placed them on my bum and turned up the volume while doing some squats . I was sore for 2 days lol. EMS is much stronger imo, i did that at a special gym with body suits that have elektrodes everywhere on the exact Muscle groups. I think i need bigger stickers for the bigger muscle groups. I don’t find it to work well for the pain in my stomach.

I have nerve damage from a neck dissection for tonsil cancer. The muscles on my right side from the neck to the shoulder have atrophied. Will EMS help this?

I use TENS to ‘treat’ my RLS. But I have to turn it way up. Then the RLS is kinda an ahole and it will jump legs. But vibrations work better

This the second video of yours that I watched and neither one explains what the difference is in how they work. Is it a different type of electrical stimuli? A different pulse? A different electrode or connection? Other than that your videos are great.

I’m curious and I’m totally a noob here....you’ll probably feel like you’re explaining this to a potato but would TENS help in any way with pain relief if you just got injured in any way? Hopefully this never happens but say my leg breaks off after a car crash or something. Could that TENS device sort of help with pain relief?

Hope you haven't lost your leg yet, i use a tens for back pain and it seems to help. Not sure if would help with missing limbs or not. Might be a question for any medical professionals on here.

There is a unit called the Bionic Gym that uses these technologies on the thighs for conditioning and potentially supplementing weight loss through long periods of use. Can extended and continual use of these units cause nerve or muscle damage?

Is there adhesive to those? I am sensitive to a lot of adhesive on my skin.. plus allergic to paper tape.

@Shannon Fogarty I have a good tip for you. Get a bottle of Flonase. Before you put on any adhesive, spray it lightly with Flonase. Let it dry, then apply the adhesive. That should take care of your allergic reactions.

Is there any kind of fabric that EMS can work through? All the areas I want to target are behind me so it would be nice to be able to keep pads on a piece of compression gear or something similar, so I don't always have to rely on someone to put them on.

Will this help with disc issues? I have been trying (desperately) to recover (without surgery) from a bulging L5/S1 for almost a year. Or at least stop/reduce the pain. I’m getting discouraged, guys! I’ve been doing your suggested McKenzie, which seems to be helping, but I can’t get in the floor during a work meeting haha. Thanks, Bob and Brad!!

I have /had the exact same problem and a TENS machine helped me a lot with the pain when it was bad. I managed to overcome the pain by conservative measures, but I still use the TENS occasionally when it flares up and also for other aches and pains. It's a reasonably low cost item so I would recommend it.

@@TheMrsWarhol What a coincidence! I am too and took it up when I first had that problem. I must admit for the first year I was in pain every time I ran, but now I can run 7 miles every other day without a problem. I belive that's what made it better, though of course its different for everyone. Good luck!

Moggridge Gah!! You have given me hope!! My goal was to qualify for Boston someday (before I’m 80!) and I have been fearful my running days were over!! A pain-free 7 sounds like heaven!! I was wondering what other passive ways can IU increase my right shoulder size. It's a bit smaller and lesser developed than my left, so I was quickly looking to see if it's all bull that an EMS can increase muscle size. Great content! I'm not sure if either function matches what I'm looking for... I have soreness and tightness in my lats (I train them pretty hard). I don't need to contract the muscles... Would the EMS help relax and work out knots in my lat muscles?

HEY, it's painful to my right wrist I'm unable to twist my wrist. No swelling I'm able to move my hand. I goes to gym. I think it's because of close grip exercise. I took 1 week rest to and medicine also. Help it's 3 week now.

I've got a Tens unit that does both. However, when I put it on to EMS it seems to be acting just like the TENS mode and the muscles do not contract. I've had it on very very high and still it doesn't work. But I've had it on the TENS mode when sometimes it's contracted the muscles. I don't understand!!!!!

You need to set your pulse width and rate. Try lower these settings to 100 us and 2 hertz. Play with these numbers to find the combo which feels best for you.

missee moore yes I take mine in my carry on. Be aware that if it has a lithium battery you cannot have it in checked baggage and in some instances not in carry on either. Therefore I take my battery TENS unit with me when I fly.
