Kindly correct me if I'm wrong ? I'm a little confused regards - Transverse inclination of vessel towards port or starboard is termed as "LIST" and longitudinal inclination of vessel by forward or stern is termed as "TRIM" isn't it ? 🙄

Later one (trim) your concept is absolutely fine. While, if I clearify you, list is transverse inclination of ship either port or starboard, it is permanent inclination and ship is not gonna back to it's up right position.

Heel is also transverse inclination but in this case ship is temporary bend to either port or starboard. This bending is due to effect of waves, wind from outside.

External forces such as wind n waves cause the vessel to heel ! The righting arm creates possibility for uprighting the vessel back to its normal position ! 👍 Where as list is caused by internal weights shifting from port to starboard vice versa 👍 thanks 🙏 appreciate your clarification ! Better ur description contains bit unnecessary statements which is not required as per the content....try to reduce that only focus on descrption which is short and simple and straight to the point

Some words are missing in definition. Basically list is due unevenly weight distribution around centerline of ship or due flooding in either port or starboard side chamber. Thanks
