schaller will sell a new coupling kit for the lockmeister... which is supposedly the same as an OFR, but doublecheck dimensions. I have that couplingkit retrofit to my pre-2016 lockmeister, can recommend.

Schaller makes the German Floyd Rose for Floyd Rose. The original German Floyd Rose Pro has a narrow string spacing .400 which I prefer has been discontinued for the Pro 1000 .420 I wish someone made the .400 inches spacing tremolos. Really want to build a Fu-Tone FU2 trem or upgrade an Original Floyd with Fu-Tone parts.

@Ikillintel1
@Ikillintel1 5 месяцев назад
@@GuitarDudeOfficial what you’re hearing is a bunch of parrots 🦜 who don’t know what it’s made of making up their own specs because Gotoh doesn’t list anything about materials and construction except that it has specially processed steel saddle. Problem with that is, the only part of the saddle that is steel is where the string lock screw goes in to connect with the string lock block, the foot as I call it , where the saddle screw holds it down to the baseplate, that’s ZINC! I also suspect the baseplate is not hardened steel though and though and only SPOT HARDENED at the knife edges as Gotoh makes no claims of hardened steel on their website. Thus avoiding falsely advertised products. It’s not a fraction of the cost for nothing, you get what you pay for so I’ll just stick with my OFRs and 1000 series.

cool video would be interested in a weight and a hardness test on the metals, you can get hardness tester file kit at harbor freight for like $13. I'm also interested in how compatable the floyd roses are with the ibanez edge systems i've never measured the post widths and it would be great to upgrade some of my ibanez with floyd or gotoh bridges.

Have you tried the Graphtech String Saver Saddles? They're made by Gotoh for Graphtech who assembles them and impregnates them with whatever that "string saver" material is but they are zinc saddles. I have those on a 1997 OFR when they still came stamped Original Floyd Rose anyway, got the Stone Tone on that with titanium string lock blocks, Hollow Points and I like it. I've known Rob at ST for while and been using the blocks for a long time. I also love the FAT blocks, tungsten and brass... I need a titanium block, I'd like to check those out. I have a few OFR's and 1000's sitting around that I swap in and out of guitars at string changes and I've been using those Tone Claws...you need to get one of those...I always say go brass...but the other option just like the FR sustain blocks are just nickel plated brass. \m/

Is that the Het set emgs? I have a Jackson soloist from 1991 that I bought in 1991 and had emgs installed when I bought it. I put an 85 in the bridge and two SA's for the singles. I recently just bought another Jackson soloist that came with stock Seymour Duncan that I didn't care for. I also decided to put emgs in as well. However, it is also an HSS setup guitar, and I put an 81 in the bridge and two SA's. Most people love the 81 in the bridge but I found I didn't care for it and swapped it out for an 85 in it sounds darker and heavie. My original 91 soloist professional XL was made in Japan. It came with a Charvel stamped made in Germany by Schaller, Floyd Rose tremolo. The guitar is 33 years old and one of the problems with those bridges is the plate. The intonation screws stripped a couple of years ago. A total bummer! Just replaced it the other day with a lockmeister. As far as I could tell that's the only drop and go for that guitar. It seems like the cavity isn't as long or as wide as they are nowadays, and so it was either that or by a vintage one from somebody else that may or may not already be stripped and that will just end up stripping the intonation screws, so I went with a brand new lockmeister and wow, it performs amazingly! The flutters on it are absolutely out of control now! They used to be weak😂😂 now if I want I can actually sound like it has a low Pro Edge in it LOL. That's what I compare a good tremolo to if it flutters like an edge Lo Pro then we're good

You know Fender and Schaller got together and made the BEST Strat bridge. My 93 deluxe plus Strat has a F Floyd Rose bridge and Fender would put a Hipshot Tremsetter in the case brand new. I installed mine cranked the bridge to whammy up and down 27 yrs ago. Play the crap out of this guitar and have never needed to mess with it again so far. But will need some fret work soon so will set the intonation after then. Amazing set up and no one knows about it. Fender/Floyd Rose.

1000 is made from softer Flow Steel and hardening process is faster than what Schaller does. 1000 was brilliant earlier, i have still few and they're great stuff, no probs, but 2023 i see folks having probs with them. I had to send one ESP Edwards E-SCYTHE back and seller responded they've never seen such wear in a new trem. My friend bought Jackson RR24 with 1000 and same probs, otherwise great axe but Floyd didn't stay in tune,. Always pitch up or down after trem use. Also gotoh springs made some hella noise, had to replace with Schaller springs after getting guitar back. FR1000 used to be great trem, but quality deteriorated somewhere 22-23. Its funny Harley Benton sells gits with FR1000 399€. I believe there are peeps saying 1000 is as good as OFR since 1000 used to be just OK, no probs whatsoever. I believe Korean factory has done some changes to quality, & that is if i believe seller and my own experience. Same dimensions and overall looks off course, official FR-site isn't obviously saying all the details but as we speak, FR1000 isn't as good as OFR. Otherwise OFR would be in cheaper gits
