Emptea... as a friend of you for a long time now, the truth is that... I moved on from you. You may start to notice that I don’t join your games when reset hits anymore like I use too. And there is a reason behind it. Because... I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed and i think it’s best for both of us to... idk... just not see eachother as much. You know, being popular is a big thing, Emptea. It’s both a blessing and a curse. Because you all have these people who want to be your friend, and praises you. It’s bad because it quintessentially starts to become overwhelming when you have way too many people you don’t know because you accepted random QRs from people. Also, I’m moving on because maybe because it’s for the better. Maybe (to me) because you want to be with your close friends and I’m more of an acquaintance or a fan than an actual person you know personally. Emptea, it’s been a fun ride being friends with you. It’s better if I just let you and your close friends have fun candle running and hanging out without me.
I am so sad after reading this because today I friended a moth and I thought we were the best of friends but, we accidentally got separated so I tried to return but, I had to go take the trash out quickly and by the time I came back and he made a new friend. I decided to leave them alone because I wanted him to go out there in the world but, since I was also candle running I needed someone to open the door in prairie and then when I asked for help he told me to go in caps so I got sad. I get too sensitive 😩😭

Same. Most annoying thing ever when you find you won't be able to get a particular constellation or seasonal spirit or winged light because it's stuck behind a multiplayer door and no one's helping you out with it.
i am not sure i cant think of a time i was confused... oh wait i didnt know where to go at one point on my first time committing die (tho i dint know iwas goingg to at the time), i thought the building ruins where checkpoint of sorts not the place you need to go to to progress
At first when I was a beginner in the sky, I always said the wrong thing about "moths" I said moths were mouths, and once someone in Benches asked "are you new?", Then I said "yes I'm mouth" 😭👎

Fr though i was trying to help this one moth get stars and "blues" as he called it but he kept letting go of my hand and going home and kept saying "over here" while i was doing the candle run and when I told him to please be patient he just left lmfao. That was an interesting day. OH! Another one. Met them in eden, i helped them ovbiously. But, they kept crashing and going home because they "were scared" AND ANOTHER ONE! They wanted help candle running vault bcuz fr though that place is a maze 😭🤚 And another one of his frienda came along and he just ditched me. FINAL ONE! Wanted help to "get wood" (no clue what that was) and when i was confused she told me i was stupid and was a fake veteran. When i tried asking where it was, she said "dragon" (still no clue) and so i decided to take her to wasteland. She started spamming "no no wrong way idiot fake you will get me killed!" And this moth was pissing me off and i know i shouldn't have done this but i just fed her to the krills. She blocked me.
Sameee buuuttt I founded a friend and I telled her to help me finish the wasteland of the burnt crisply hotdog -shrimp krill and she said “let’s do it together!”and then me and my friend flyed through the krill and that’s where the story-endstheend U-U
When I went through golden wasteland I literally zipped through it as fast as I could once I saw the krill. I guess I’m the moth that faces my fears. I also used the same tactic for Eden, except I scouted out a way beforehand because I wanted to help my mum(also a moth, she’s the one who got me into the game in the first place) through the place cuz I heard it was easier with a friend.
Fondly enough, I played Journey when it first came out, so I am a "Knows what to do" moth. I am also a moth who tries to friend people after an adventure, but my social anxiety ramps up when they take me to the bench.😰
LMFAO i always act so confident but when we get to the bench i always get so nervous, even tho in the majority of cases i was the only taking people to talk in benchs lmao
I get anxious when I'm not able to chat with people bc idk wut to do, so everytime I friend ppl I just follow then around and hopefully find somewhere to sit and talk
I was a lone wolf when I first started, definitely. Led to some Krill anxieties that haven't gone away though. I was intent on finishing the game with no guides- I gave out a few candles, never made friends. Chatted with one person and continued. I was terrified of Eden for a solid week- since I refused to ask a vet to guide me/tell me what to do.
Even having gotten to the Eye of Eden, I still feel like a moth. I have no idea how to proceed into the Eye without dying, every time I go unsupervised, I lose at least two winged light by getting hit by rocks. I'm just too nervous and inexperienced to feel comfortable there, but I *know* I need to go there to get the purple cape I've been dreaming of since I started. It's just too scary. Edit: I've now been there a couple times and it's still a little nerve-wracking, but now it's in a good way. I quite enjoy going up there on the days I'm feeling bold. Still want that purple cape, so that's a motivator lol.
Can relate, I used to panic in eden, but now usually i sit on some random rock where the krill can find me but can’t attack, like it flashes red than turns blue, and help people recharge and maybe launch fireworks if they are scared
If you do Eden with friends, it’s much better! I did Eden with friends (one left cuz they didn’t want to lose winged light) and the friend took me through most of the statues. He made me feel so much more confident and I recently saw him today! He said I was basically already a veteran. Though I still feel nervous, it’s normal when you are new!
The worst part is when you are a lone wolf but you just want a buddy to go on adventures with you, yet when you go to their location you have a mild panic attack and pretend you just happen to be there at the same time. Only to end up alone anyway cause they are doing their own thing.
You forgot the completionist moth. The one who refuses to go to the Eye of Eden till they've found EVERY. LAST. WINGED. LIGHT. DARNIT. They're also super cautious around krill, and almost never get hit because of it. That was me if you can't tell. I was also mad when I finished Eden because of that.
This is literally me right now wthhh 😭 Im tryna get all the winged light needed so I can save all 63 statues before dying. I need to get all the ascended candles possible in the first run so that its worth dying and losing my winged lights >w
The most wings I've ever gotten was a little over 100 then I went to eden and never got those wings back. I don't like eden cause I like flying and when I get eden candles I waste all of my money then I'm broke and flightless. (I've been playing for less than 2 months 😭😂)
I finished the game yesterday. Mainly because a kind stranger guided me to the Eye of Eden. We inevitably had to part at the point of no return; we bowed and waved farewell... I hadn't a clue what I was really getting myself into.
when i was a moth i started off as a solo player. when i watch sky videos and then look at the comments for people looking for friends they always ask for their discord and i don't have discord so i thought i couldn't have any friends until i reached wasteland. another moth saw me sitting in the corner, too scared to pass the krill. they friended me and then lend their hand and helped me get through that krill 😅 that's when i realized i could add friends even from the game. they were also my very first friend i had in sky :3
Exact same vibe - I was stuck in the shipwreck, and a kind player took me and another player to the temple. I wasn't really into the multiplayer thing until that moment of kindness.
I was always the confused moth. Basically I didn’t understand clothe doors, thought everybody was gonna swear at me and bully, insisted on leading, I really wanted friends, thought chat was free and everybody could see it, didn’t know what candles where called almost had a heart attack in wasteland, quit 1 week later and made a new account

I feel like I’m at a weird middle ground between moth and veteran. I’ve ascended three times, I can solo Eden, I got a few cosmetics, I’m saving hearts for the blue cape, but I ALWAYS run out of candles at the worst time and still find myself missing some of the main spirits. Hooray for having no friends😅
I spent most of my first play through holding my first friend’s hand. I spent the whole time on chat going “wOaH” every time we went to a new area. I’m afraid I annoyed them, but I’m so grateful they were there! It was really nice to experience Sky with someone for the first time :)

I usually take my friends who's first time playing the game to places they can't go yet before going to the most difficult part or wastelands I also help them with spirits
U forgot the" moth moth" that likes flying around and picks u up to another dimension and u say ¿ what dat fuck? ¿What do they want to do? And u try to talk with them but they don't want to talk just fly.. and take ur hand..
What about the Babey Moth that comes along your journey to help you and care for ya and goes out of their way to get lost wings and restores light. Don’t forget when they hold your hand even when you u aren’t going anywhere

Once, I found a moth who had only just started, they friended me out of random, and I pointed to the return shrine. They listened and once they left I teleported to them. It was pretty time wasting just standing there while they had all the cutscenes, but by the end of daylight prairie they already new what to do with sprits, winged lights, and bought one new hairstyle ;-; I helped them to the end of hidden forest, because The Valley is pretty basic. I wanted to warn them about krills, but they only spoke Italian so I had to have them find out the hard way. Still in my friend list, every once in a while buying a new hairstyle, but I haven’t seen them online since.
Types of moffs i know: 1. Default Moff: plays sky for the first time 2. Male moff: plays sky with pointing spirit hair 3. Advanced Moff: different cape, instrument and or different pants 4. Disguise Moff: secretely a veteran 5. Rich moff: keeps friending random players and spends candles on benches non stop 6. Kidnapper Moff: kidnappes you 7. Moth Moff: desperately collects all winged light 8. New to wasteland moff: walks into krill 9. Late Moff days Moff: about to ascend into average sky enjoyer
Fr I was in the eye of Eden and had just finished the game and had to collect all of my stars back then this guy with legit RAINBOW WINGS and he was maxed out with his friend but they helped me get my stars back which was nice but I felt like I didn't belong there 😭
i wonder how my very first friends feel about seeing me grow from a moth to a veteran.. the first friends i made were already really rich but they helped me a lot and now im obsessed with the game. Same! I'm one of those moth who managed to get 10th cape wedge & bought a pass in just a span of 1 month thanks to RU-vid. My friends are even surprised by my growth rate
I guess, just my guess but I think they're grateful for you. Since befriending a moth is like a hit or miss... It's either they stop playing after less than a week and just filling up your constellation with dead accs, or they become a regular player that can help you :")
Had a veteran help me at the hidden forest. At that point, I still didn't know that the story was, was lost, and didn't even know that I requested help lol. I thought the veteran who was helping me was a bot at first because I also didn't know that you could play with others. In the end, where I wanted to take my time and not be confused on the storyline, I ended finishing the game (without eden of course) with the help of this kind veteran. I didn't even know that I finished the game! They were a really nice person and I became friends with them. P.S. There was a moment where I was trying to get a winged light on top of the bones in the vault of knowledge, and for the life of me I couldn't fly very well, so I spent about 10 min trying to get up there. The whole time the veteran was watching me and when I finally got the light, they clapped and I felt incredibly embarassed lol.
Tbh i didn't even know the in-game characters were called moths I just installed the game on my switch because it was free and seemed interesting enough • w •

I'm a weird mix of 'honk abuser' and quiet moth. I tend to be quiet most times, don't use emotes(besides around close friends, my fiance or when I can actually find the emote fast enough for it to matter, like the face palm one when I got frustrated at another moth) but when I do mash the button, it's usually either when im doing something, when I found a wing piece and want newer players to come find me for it(which has happened before) or im just wanting company. If you see a moth with a harp and red wings as well as the little horn head piece and a ponytail upon sharing a candle who has 7 wing stars, that is most likely me. I've been going around different areas just doing handstands for the heck of it XD ill be constantly making sound for people to find me.

@@asaichii Usually a player becomes a veteran when they have the elders hair from either Forest, Valley, Wasteland, or Vault cause how long it takes to achieve those hairs (it took me 4 months to complete my veteran look🥲)
I started playing the games a few days ago, knowing nothing and alone. It was a surprise to realize that moth's get adopted and helped in the game, so i now call myself an Orphan Moth, and this Orphan Moth is going to complete the game
Lone wolf, silent moth, and the one that knows what they were doing was me when I first started out, but I only knew what I was doing bc my person was there to guide me lol Also I didn’t discover the other flying mode until a month or two after starting the game it was painful.
My first friends were two veterans and they both guided me until the forest, protecting me with umbrellas while I tried to figure out what to do, I play alone now and whenever we see each other we will spent 5 minutes honking and hugging until either one of us says bye to continue exploring!
Back when I first played the game, I sat in the butterfly field in Prairie just listening to the music and admiring the clouds. It was my dream to live in a place with similar view so I was happy just sitting there.

I managed to learn my way about all thanks to a chibi friend I found while dancing around prairie. I would never have made it this far in the game if it weren’t for them. 💜
when i was a moth i didn't know i was supposed to light the barrier in isle of dawn before they show the cutscene with the first spirit so i was wandering around for god knows how long before i just left for a few days then started again. i eventually had to look up what i was doing wrong and then felt so stupid

I joined a group with people that weren’t moths and I was in that game for about a long time and I knew about everything and they would always ask want me to show u around and I would kinda get annoyed but there like really helpful and I’m great full for them
As an unaware moth, I used to think I could shoo away the dragon by shouting like the crabs. I kept jumping back in there and try until a player spelled it out for me
I've had this game for a few years now. I just completed Eden and learned that you lost all your light (when doing it correctly) bc the first time, I died almost immediately and didn't finish. I am kind of a social moth. I have two friends, but I will go up to people holding candles mostly because I wanna see their design

Gotta say though people, some of y'all veterans really should help more new folks.. ive talked to alot of other new folks who agree that lots of times people will turn and run when they see their wedges and brown cape.
Luckily, when I basically started this game, I knew exactly what I had to do. I had never seen anything from sky before I started, but I knew some stuff, because I used to play Journey, which, as we all know, was made by the same company that made Sky. Since I had no friends to play with me, I quit after Hidden Forest and restarted playing just about a month ago. I played more, did Golden Wasteland eez (because as previous stated, I have played Journey) and did Eden for the first time. Never got krill'd through the first run until reincarnation and uh... within the past month I grinded a lot. I will continue to grind, maybe (hopefully) make more friends on the way, get hearts for csometics, and uh, yeah.
