This is the first time that I have written a comment for a RU-vid video in all my years of viewing random videos on RU-vid. I grew up in a loving LDS home. All my family is LDS (Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents). My parents have always served in leadership callings, myself included. I was the best example of an LDS member. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true as Moroni instructed, and I felt warmth in my heart. I turned 19 and sent all my papers to serve an LDS Mission. I was called to serve in Veracruz, Mexico. I would pray every day to better understand His word so that I would follow it even better every day, and that's what He did. I was in my mission about a year when I began to get a tremendous urge to read the New Testament. I had read the Book of Mormon many times but I had never truly read the Bible. (I knew that Joseph Smith had said that the Bible was not translated correctly, that it had many holes, contradictions and that not all the books in it were inspired of God. I had never taken it upon myself to actually study the Bible because every time I read it, it would contradict the LDS church. A big issue was about salvation. I knew that what I did on earth in obedience to the restored gospel that God would reward me and make me a god like His god made Him god. The bible would always get me angry because it said that there was no God before Him and that there would be no God after Him. The bible said many times that if you believed in Jesus as your Savior that you would be saved. That sounded like blasphemy to me because what would happen to all my good works that I was going to present to God to be a god myself.) I knew that God wanted me to read the Bible and so I did with an opened mind and heart. I read from Matthew to the end of Hebrews, that’s when I knew something was really wrong with what I believed in. I prayed and accepted the Jesus of the Bible as my Savior and gave my life to Him. I was and am nothing. No good works that I could do could save me. I understood that the Blood that Jesus shed on the cross was the payment for my salvation and anyone who will believe. The LDS church had taught me that Jesus paid for my sins in the garden of Gethsemane and that he sweated blood because of the pain; the cross was just His death. I know now that it was on the cross, a living sacrifice, the Lamb of God, the Son of God as it was always represented in the sacrifices before Christ. I could no longer teach the LDS lies. You can keep your warm heart feeling, I want Jesus. I left the mission, was excommunicated from the church (Hallelujah, Glory to God). I feel so guilty for the people I brought into the LDS church (people are very easily strayed away when they don’t truly have the word of God in their lives.) I pray to God that they will open their hearts to the truth as I did (I wish I could go back but I don’t remember the addresses.) Praises and Glory be to Him on High!!!! Always read is word because everything you need to know about anything is there. I hope that God blesses us all in these times.

My my how saddened I am to read your fall....There was NO God before him Isaiah 43 did you forget Gen 1/26? ....And Yet Christ was acknowledged by his Father in Matt 3....declared to be ' god ' in john 1/1-12 and prayed to his Father for his apostles in john 17 and said to Mary AFTER resurrecting this NOW read it plz.... (New Testament | John 20:17) Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. BUT isnt Jesus God [Jn1] and NO OTHER [ Isa 43] God before him ? YOU have been deceived [1 Tim 4/1] and you blame the church on your inadequacies and your lack of faith ...shame on you, hope to God you repent and seek HIS forgiveness for your lies......last quote for and to you below! (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 122:1 - 3) THE ends of the earth shall inquire after thy name, and fools shall have thee in derision, and hell shall rage against thee; And thy people shall never be turned against thee by the testimony of traitors. You have the chance of the parable of the prodigal son, use it!

Hi, Linda! I know what they taught us. I know what I believe. You know what you believe. We can both bash at eat other, which will get us no where. We have the ability to choose as we wish, one of God's many gift to us. You have faith and follow what you have come to believe, as I have too. Others have posted about my "fall" for the LDS faith, it doesn't bother me at all. I know where I stand. Religion causes many divisions, I don't like that, I wish I could just hug everyone and show them the love God has shown me. I will do my best to follow Jesus's example while he was on the earth, and I know you will too, we will not be perfect at it, but this world needs more of Jesus Christ. If your right, then I will be in outer darkness for having denied the Holy Ghost and you will be a god, with endless possibilities. If I'm right, I will be able to praise God for all eternity, which is all I wish to do. God is great, He is good. My lovely God. Surprises me every day, too. God bless you!! Merry Christmas!!!

@@jedbyers1124 Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians several years after the death and resurrection of Christ. Nephi wrote that passage 600 years BEFORE Christ's birth. If you read the entire 25th chapter of 2 Nephi, you will see what that verse is saying. Ephesians does NOT say that good works make no difference. If you read the 17th chapter of Acts, and see what they decided as far as the Gentile converts to Christ. Then read ALL of the 2 chapter of Ephesians. So, comparing one or two verses to one or two verses could sound like contradiction. But taking all the verses in context, they do not contradict each other.

Walter Martin on Mormonism: “With one dogmatic assertion, Joseph pronounced everybody wrong, all Christian theology an abomination, and all professing Christians corrupt-all in the name of God! How strange for this to be presented as restored Christianity, when Jesus Christ specifically promised that ‘the gates of Hell’ would not prevail against the church (Matt. 16:18)! In Mormonism we find God contradicting this statement in a vision to Joseph Smith, some eighteen centuries later!”

When the power of God moved at the moment of deliverance all emotions of fear, emptiness, confusion, excitement, glory, amazement, relief, humility, and wonder sunk at once instantly contemplating my family and life as a Mormon. I thank you all for your courage to put your testimony out for the world to hear. God bless you all. I am very grateful the Lord loved me so much to save me by His grace and praise the Lord Jesus Christ who delivered me from false doctrine. This is such an encouragement. Before I was saved I had mormon friends who sent the missionaries to speak to me. I was at a very low point in my life and their message and their church sounded good initially. They brought me a copy of the bible as well as the book of mormon. I read both. The more I read the bible, the more I believed. The more I read the book of mormon, the more I realized it was false. The mormons appear wonderful on the surface, but deep down their religion is heretical. They put down the bible that can be validated by the ancient manuscripts and historical evidence and instead they turn to a lie created by a false prophet. Joseph Smith was a fraud and a charlatan. I pray for the mormons that they will turn from their heretical gospel and see the truth of Christ and His saving gospel.

If you read in Matthew 24:13 & Mark 13:13, you will note that the Saviour himself said we must ENDURE TO THE END TO BE SAVED. If you are still alive you cannot yet know that you have been saved. Feeling the spirit is likely what you felt. I once attended an evangelical meeting as a 16 year old, in which the preacher said those who want to give their lives to Jesus to be saved should come forward. I felt the burning in my bosom, but thankfully even at that tender young age, knew it was not as easy as just believing in Christ and thinking I had been saved. I realised I had a life to live according to the way He wanted me to live, and was being told false doctrine, (and by a vicar who preached for lucre)! Obedience to Him, follow Him. Christ said "If ye love me keep My commandments." Conversion is not one experience but a life of struggling to bend our will to God. But you, I and all who proclaim to love the Saviour must endure for our WHOLE LIVES in obedience to God's commandments to be saved.He cannot look upon sin with any degree of allowance. Good luck in holding fast to the iron rod - the Word of God, treading the path that will lead to Eternal life IF you and all must endure as best we can, to the end. Then his Grace, his enabling power will make up where you and I & the faithful have lacked as mortal beings subject to temptation .

@@trevorhinkley2291 Endure to the end literally means to keep your faith in Jesus to the very end. It is not about works - your own righteousness cannot save you, that will condemn you. You must trust in Jesus Christ to be saved, as it is HIS righteousness, the righteousness of God imputed to you, given to you freely, that saves you, not your own. If you trust in your works to save you, you are trusting in your own righteousness, not the righteousness of God that comes by faith. You will never be good enough, you'll only be condemned by your works in the end, because that is not the righteousness of God that he requires. If you truly believe, you will receive the holy spirit. If you truly believe, God will guide you towards righteousness, convicting your heart along the way, and providing you with peace, love and joy in your heart the more you draw nearer to him - he'll keep drawing you to him. Works are a by-product, a result of faith. But your works do not save you. You are fully justified only in the blood of Christ, in Jesus's righteousness. It is salvation by grace through faith alone, not of works. Ephesians 2:8-9 Colossians 2:13-15 Ephesians 1:7 Romans 11:6 Romans 3:24 Romans 5:1 Romans 3:28 Galatians 3:24 Romans 5:9 2 Timothy 1:9 Galatians 3:11 Galatians 5:4-6 Galatians 2:21 Titus 3:5-7 Romans 5:1-21 Philippians 3:8-9 Romans 4:5-6 Genesis 15:6 Romans 10:4 Galatians 2:16 Romans 9:31-33 It sounds like you did not fully trust in Jesus, but rather turned to trust in your own works. If you truly believe in him, in the gospel (his death burial and resurrection for you), then you can come to know him in peace. By his grace you are saved! Praise him and love him because of his love for you, and hold onto him forever in your heart, stay close in faith to him and go to him, in his presence and in prayer, always to stay close, and he will keep you and hold you in his hand always. God bless.

I feel a deep connection with my Savior in the LDS church. To the people in this video, honestly, whatever makes you feel closer to Christ you go do it because that's more important than not feeling a spiritual connection to him and doing things because of what you're told. My experiences in the church have been great. I love it and I love Christ's teachings. I have a firm testimony of the Book of Mormon. It's an amazing book and it is what it says. It's Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It's another witness of Jesus Christ. It's not the onlly witness but it backs the Bible in the way that Jesus did in fact live, performed miracles, and died for us. I'm studying Church history right now and you can see the wisdom of God as he helped Joseph Smith in his role as the Prophet. I have felt the Sprite multiple times witnessing to me that it's true. That Jesus Christ is the Savior, Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. As a missionary, I had decided to read the Book of Mormon in my mission language (spanish). I had studied Spanish a little bit in high school but the MTC helped me speak more fluently. Even though I didn't understand everything in the Book of Mormon completely when I read it in Spanish, I felt a peace and calm. It was amazing. As I started understanding more Spanish the Book of Mormon started making more and more sense to me. I learned and relearned things which had been taught to me before but this time in a personal setting.

World religions all have at least a few things in common ... They are founded by a human being; most of them claim to be the one and only true religion/church, their doctrines contain un-scriptural fabrications mixed with some truths, and they all induce their members to do certain things in order to earn favor with God. Some of them have come up with their own Bible twisting words to fit their doctrines or like the Quran. Thing is ... it is impossible to please God without placing one's faith in Christ ... God's Messiah and Savior; God's provision for all mankind to be forgiven of sin and granted a personal relationship with His Creator through Christ. God has desired a personal relationship with every man and woman since the beginning. This was made apparent with Adam and Eve and in His relationship with the Israelites. The Hebrews were God's chosen people, and through that relationship - living example to the onlooking world. Through this relationship with the Hebrews, God was able to introduce Himself and show the world who He is, what He is like, how He thinks, what He desires, demands, and expects ... Then, when He gave the Laws, He gave the Hebrews time to realize that man cannot keep Gods laws; not without help. Once this was accomplished, He promised ahead of time to send a Messiah and Savior. It can be surmised that the Hebrews were expecting the Messiah to arrive in a dramatic and obvious, recognizable way. But that wasnt the case. He was born to a Hebrew young woman in a lowly stable. Scripture tells us that Jesus was all the fullness of God, bodily. He is referred to in scripture as the Word of God made flesh. Scriptures, Jesus is God: carm.org/bible-verses-show-jesus-divine Before Jesus came, the Hebrews had to sacrifice animals to atone for their sins. There could have been no forgiveness available for fallen humanity without the historical incarnation and ultimate death of the Son of God. Without the shedding of blood there would have been no pardon for sin (Hebrews 9:22). But the blood of animals could not provide actual atonement for sin (Hebrews 10:4). Those animal sacrifices under the former dispensations were merely typical (pictorial representations) of the “lamb of God” who was to come and provide a sacrificial offering for humanity (John 1:29). Had Jesus not died at Calvary, those offerings of ages gone by would have been worthless. If you're reading this, just know that God loves you and wants you to know Him through His Son Jesus; the last and final sacrifice. He reveals Himself to those who sincerely seek Him, or seek the TRUTH. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man goes to the father except through Me." If one sincerely asks Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your life, you will not only have His forgiveness, but you will begin a personal relationship with Him. He restores and changes lives, still today. He's alive and real and He reveals Himself to those who seek Him.

No one ever needed the Mormon Church to have forgiveness of sin, and eternal life in the presences of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That is through repentance, faith and trust in Jesus Christ only. Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) “For the wages of sin is death; but THE GIFT OF GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

Whoever said you need the LDS for forgiveness? In the Catholic Church they confess their sins to a priest, and then do rosaries. With LDS you repent directly to God the Father in the name of Christ. It doesn't say we are saved by works. Faith without works is a dead faith. Everybody in this Church has a faith in Christ. We are saved through His atonement. Works don't save us. Does that mean not to do good works? Have a faith in Christ and do good works. God plays the most important part. That behooves us to play our part. A proactive Christianity. At the end of the day God knows our heart. We can't work our way into heaven. But, without works, how can we be judged? There is no excuse not to do good works. Jesus said: 'If you love me you'll live the commandments. I give you one more commandment: Love one another'. That's works to a tee.

I am a convert from The Southern Baptist. I don't want to settle for less either. I went to church all my life. My parents raised me in the church. When I was 18 I even went on a mission for the Southern Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board to Kenya Africa. If there is one thing that my dad always told me, it's that I should always go to the church that God wants me to go. Not to base it on where they attend, or where my friends attend, or because it's big or small, but because i've prayed about it and sought God's council only. I did seek God throughout my whole conversion process. He told me that I am suppose to attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My life has not ever been better. From the moment I was baptized and confirmed I was healed and my life is for the first time ever one of great happiness and most importantly....inner peace...a peace that surpasses all understanding. Works do not get people into heaven...we all know that...only the atonement of Jesus Christ makes us worthy. The works in our faith are for the rewards we will receive once we enter into the realm of heavens and only because we have confessed with our mouth that Jesus Christ is the sacrificial son of God, believed in our hearts without a doubt, have been baptized for the remission of our sins (Acts 2:38), and have received the Holy Ghost.

You mean Like Brigham Young, 2nd Mormon false prophet, who shows he had nothing but disdain for Christians as he preached to the self-proclaimed latter-day saints. “Do the Christian world know whether God has eyes to see, ears to hear, or hands, or a body? They are as ignorant of the true God as are those islanders, and all whom we call heathen.” This was part of Brigham Young’s Sunday Service Message to the self-proclaimed latter-day saints, in the Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, Feb. 7, 1858. (Journal of Discourses V6 p195)

When Mormons refer to Jesus they are not referring to the Jesus of the Bible and Christians. Mormons are referring to a Mormon jesus who is the brother of Satan and they are two of many sons and daughters of a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god, the Mormon so-called heavenly father, who himself is one of a myriad of Mormon tiny polygamist exalted men god father, grandfathers, great grandfathers, etc., according to Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, Brigham Young, 2nd Mormon false prophet. Jesus of the Bible and Christians is not the jesus of the Mormon Church, nor a son of a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man, nor the brother of Satan. As it is written, “For God so loved the world, that he gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)”

Charla Cobb And I've heard the exact same things, such as attending a particular church which made one's life a whole lot better, getting baptized, healed, and finding an "inner peace," using Acts 2:38 to justify that baptism is necessary for salvation, etc., from not only Mormons, but from Roman Catholics, Moonies, Jehovah Witnesses, Oneness Pentecostals, Churches and Disciples of Christ, The Way International, Muslims, plus other Mormons besides the LDS ones such as the RLDS, FLDS, as well as the many other Mormon sects. So what you state is nothing unique or special.

As an ex-mormon, I can attest to the feeling of security the LDS culture can bring. It must have been very difficult for these young men to go through what they did - I understand the pressure they were under. I am not born-again, but I can respect the strength it took for all these people to follow their hearts out of Mormonism. It is a very difficult thing to separate oneself from a church whose influence is so pervasive and heavy. Joe Smith is by far one of the greatest con men in history - 180+ years later, people are still buying his "truths." The dude looked at a rock in his hat!!!!!!! I am glad for them that they are out, and happy. On another note - eternal families? What if your family members are jerks???? I've always wondered about that. ;-)

The question I ask Mormons is this, "When Jesus died on the cross, how many brothers did He have?" Mormons believe in a Jesus who was brother to Satan before the world was inhabited. But, scripture says of Jesus who died on the cross that He was "the only begotten son." I ask them, "In which Jesus do you put your trust for salvation? Because only one of these two men is God's plan of salvation."
@paceme
@paceme 10 лет назад
As many Christians believe that a fully-formed spirit enters the body at some point before birth, Mormons believe that God created our spirits first. So, they differentiate between: 1. spirit brothers and sisters (where we are all siblings, including Jesus and Satan, all children to the same Father in Heaven, since Jesus was God's son in the beginning even before he was born to Mary, and God created Lucifer, the son of the morning, who was good before he fell and became Satan, the father of lies), 2. physical brothers and sisters (by blood or adoption in this mortal world, like James the brother of Jesus, son of Mary and Joseph), and 3. brothers and sisters in Christ (where repentant believers in Christ are in a family of fellowship with Christ, the Father of our Salvation). 4. All these are separate from The Only Begotten of the Father, Jesus being the only person born with God as the Father of his physical body, just as all the "begat"s in the Bible are saying who the father is. The distinction causes confusion. Mormons don't believe Satan was born of Mary, so if that's the question, Jesus had as many brothers as Mary had other sons with Joseph. If you are asking about children begotten of God through Mary, he has no brothers or sisters. If you are saying children of God before the world was created: maybe more than 100 billion brothers and sisters. If you are saying brothers in the fellowship of Christ, God only knows.

Pace Ellsworth The claims that are being presented here are based upon non-biblical dogma that is NOT accepted by Christianity or anything close to it. Most such claims of preexistence are usually dismissed as esoteric dogma by would-be prophets or apostles who tout "special" revelations by angels and the like. All of these claims are nothing more than neo-gnostic smoke and mirrors. Just believing such claims doesn't make them valid or add strength to the arguments concerning them. Of course, you are free to continue in these professions, but only the naïve and deceived would do so.
@paceme
@paceme 10 лет назад
Robert Allison Thanks for your reply. I can't assert that Mormons are right by terms of logic. They are either right or they are wrong, and yes of course, they don't agree with mainstream Christians on the subject of premortal existence, among hundreds of other doctrines. My opinion doesn't make them valid or invalid. I was simply clarifying their doctrine on the "Only Begotten"-ness of Jesus Christ for everyone's benefit, because Mormons only worship one Jesus. The Bible doesn't say explicitly who created Lucifer, but seems to show that he existed before the Garden. Mormons draw support from their additional canon to believe that all spirits, angels and men (including Jesus and Lucifer) were created by God as His children. It's my understanding that almost all Christians believe that God created all the other beings in the universe, so they'd agree that we are all siblings in at least a Creator-creature figurative sense.
@TheJpgr1958
@TheJpgr1958 10 лет назад
Pace Ellsworth"The Bible doesn't say explicitly who created Lucifer," Ummm, yes it does. Colossians 1:16-17 states the following: "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." This is speaking of Christ who again, existed before all things and who created all things. Now if you take the position like what the Jehovah Witnesses do, and state that God the father created Jesus first, and then both He and Jesus, as a junior partner, created all things, this would make Jesus a "thing," which would render the above passage meaningless. How can Jesus be a thing, but existed before all things? So in contrast to your assertion, the Bible does explicitly tell us who created Lucifer, and it was Christ.

I have read several sources about this story, and it's all suspect. First, this family joined the church over 40 years ago. They claim that the LDS church does not follow the Bible at all, that reading t he Bible led them away from the LDS church. However, the church, be it Sunday School, Institute, or Seminary, spends two of every four years studying the Bible. And they know this, so in that, they are lying. Second, This Micah, while on his mission, claims to have talked with a pastor/s alone, without his companion, which is very much forbidden on a full time mission. It's no wonder he got into trouble. And another article claims he was having problems with a girl. Also verboten. Yes, his mother did teach at BYU, but she did NOT teach any religion classes. So, people should not be impressed with those credentials.

@@corianne2099 I pray for LDS missionaries all the time. (I was one of them.) I pray for them to go home to their family, friends and school. Many LDS missionaries are doing exactly that---leaving their missions early. Mission money is money *ILL SPENT!!* What I mean is, that it costs families an average of $10,000 per year to send their missionary out. Multiply that by 60,000 LDS missionaries, which amounts to about 600 MILLION dollars. (That's on TOP of the 10% tithing each family pays.) THEN there's the 3 or 4 hundred MILLION dollars spent by the LDS church for their Missionary Training Centers, their building, maintenance, literature and staff. That's a total of over 1 BILLION + dollars per year. Divide 1 billion by the number of converts the missionaries bring in (abt 200K), which amounts to about $5000 in costs *PER CONVERT!* (AND GROWING!) I believe the LDS church would be better served to offer all potential converts an incentive of $5000 for joining....$1000 up front at baptism, another $2000 at their 2nd year of membership and the final $2000 at their 3rd year of membership, as well as a 50% discount on their tithing bill for 10 years (or whatever). The idea being...an incentive to join AND an incentive to stay. Same amount of money spent but a double or triple (or more) the number of new members joining. Advertise this incentive in local news papers and LDS would have MILLIONS of members in Africa and South America and other impoverished countries. PLUS---LDS Inc would be actively contributing to the economic growth of those countries! LDS Inc. would have people FLOCKING to join! After 3 to 5 years, the money spent will be returned in tithing revenue from those very "converts". An impressive WIN, WIN!! (Note: The numbers presented here are just educated guesses...because, the LDS church refuses to disclose it's financials. If you want accurate numbers, demand them from your church!)

The problem with Mormonism is the beginnings of this church is close to our own era and it is possible to examine texts and the early history of Mormonism from an accurate and not too distant point of view. It’s easy to recover evidence and disprove the Book of Mormon; to examine the lives of the so-called saints; to understand the social context of the time that led to reliance on superstition and magic, and to see the early church and its founders as flawed. If you look at the history and some of the horrific episodes in its foundation it doesn’t stand up. It’s the so-called family values that keep people stuck in the church. And I can see that the social network is designed to shame not to support. This is a false faith. The idea that the Bible wasn’t translated correctly puts suspicion on it. Not all the Gospels are there; historical evidence says more Gospels exist. It’s the editing of the Bible that is suspect.

"It's about love first, not works. :)" It sure is. The works are second which would naturally follow suit when one truly loves Him and strives to do the things asked of us. It is another testimony of how much we are willing to do for Him. Works are the fruit of our love for Him. Mathew 11:28 is referring to after our resurrection as we labour all one's life.... we will have rest. Yes, being LDS sounds labour laden and it is. Who ever said it would be easy to achieve a highest glory one can to become like our Father(s) in Heaven. The Quality of salvation will be at various levels according to our faith and the fruits of that faith. I am a lazy Christian myself but I cannot and will not deny the truth of LDS knowledge. When it comes to cults, a lot of people outside of their organizations know more about their religion than members do. It is hard for members of these cults to believe this because they have been in it many years if not their entire lives. It makes them hard headed ass hats to get through to them all the while they are selling their religion to others. It can best be described as a social illness humanity suffers from.

I recently saw an LDS film depicting the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. as about the most humble man who ever lived. In honor of his deep humility I would like to post some humble words of encouragement by this great, humble man. "Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409) Now, I ask all who hear me, why the learned men who are preaching salvation, say that God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing? In writing the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith Jr. tripped himself up very severely. Various errors UNIQUE to the copy of the bible Joseph Smith owned (1769 KJV) are in the Book of Mormon ! This shows, undeniably, that Joseph Smith used the 1769 KJV as a reference and plagiarised text from that Bible. Refer: 2 Nephi 19:1, 2 Nephi 21:3, 2 Nephi 16:2, 2 Nephi 23:21-22. We are told that the Book of Mormon was written and buried in the 400s AD, and that Joseph Smith discovered the plates in 1827, some 1,400 years later. The 1769 edition of the King James Bible contained some specific ERRORS that are UNIQUE to that edition. In other words, those particular errors occur ONLY in the 1769 Bible, nowhere else, so they are easy to identify. Refer to the Book of Mormon: 2 Nephi 19:1, 2 Nephi 21:3, 2 Nephi 16:2, 2 Nephi 23:21-22. How is it that those unique errors from the King James 1769 Bible appear in the Book of Mormon, which was written and buried some 1,300 years earlier? HOW is that possible? HOW could the writer of the Book of Mormon know what would be written in the 1769 King James Bible some 1,300 years later? The fact that those unique errors are found in the Book of Mormon is overwhelming proof that Joseph Smith himself wrote the BofM and copied material from his 1769 King James Bible. What other possible explanation is there? Here are the sections I have mentioned: 2 Nephi 19:1 Nevertheless, the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterwards did more grievously afflict by the way of the Red Sea beyond Jordan in Galilee of the nations. 2 Nephi 21:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears. 2 Nephi 16:2 Above it stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 2 Nephi 23:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. 2 Nephi 23:22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces; and her time is near to come, and her day shall not be prolonged. For I will destroy her speedily; yea, for I will be merciful unto my people, but the wicked shall perish. As I said, Joseph Smith tripped himself up by plagiarising. He obviously did not know about the unique errors in his 1769 KJ Bible... just as he did not suspect that one day Egyptian hieroglyphs would be fully deciphered, proving his "translation" of the "Book of Abraham" an absolute fraud. /

Mormon jesus: "And again, I command thee that thou shalt pray vocally as well as in thy heart; yea, before the world as well as in secret, in public as well as in private." (D&C 19:28) Jesus of the Bible: "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret."(Matthew 6:6) What is wrong with this picture?

I was a born again Christian back in the 70s, but I became LDS because modern, sectarian Christianity lacked everything that early Christianity offered. In fact, sectarians classify as evil everything that's been restored and which were a central part of first century Christianity. The wonders of Christian atonement these people found in the Bible and were so deeply received by them is all in the Book of Mormon! Works are not inconsequential. Although works do not save, one cannot be saved without them. There is no salvation by works alone. But to say works like baptism are not essential is foolishness. And to hear some of these stories, I'm frankly skeptical. That a BYU professor couldn't answer that question about marriage is inconceivable. I've read nearly everything that Joseph Smith ever wrote about doctrine, priesthood, keys and covenants, and they fill the void left by centuries of apostasy. If these people were open-minded enough to read the epistles of the ancient apostles, they ought to be open enough to read the stories of modern apostles -- like the AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF PARLEY P. PRATT and the writings of Orson Hyde, Heber C. Kimball, Wilford Woodruff and others. One of the premises of this video is that the Bible is very Christ-centric, but the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants are not. It makes me wonder if these people have ever read the Book of Mormon! The saints are imperfect and that's a central part of the faith, but these people sound as though it's the complete opposite. It's all foolishness. If God can do anything, as these people claim, why did He not simply speak the earth into existence? Why did it take him more than six "days"? And why was there a need for the atonement? Why did He not remove the bitter cup? Why does he subject man to the horrors of mortality? If Jesus suffered and died to negate the effects of the fall, why then are people still being born subject to death? Why is there still death and misery in the world? To abandon the restored gospel, one must return to the ignorance that the fall of man was a horrible mistake and not a planned event. It is to deny the precept that man could not become perfect without both the fall and the atonement! This is only taught in Greek/Eastern Orthodxy and Mormonism. Mormonism answers all the questions the Bible doesn't. If God honors man's free agency, why are we forced to endure earth life and mortality? And why are we subject to an eternity in hell? If God made man imperfect, then why must man pay the consequences of sin -- why must _anyone_? And why would God need a Son? All of these questions are answered in Mormonism, but are left open in secular Christianity. According to the scriptures of the Restoration, no man comes to the earth without his or her consent. Earth life strengthens and disciplines men and provides testing that we cannot receive in Heaven. There are no angels in Heaven who were not formerly people or will be people. (As the angel told John, "I am thy fellow servant and of thy brethren the prophets....") Instead of finding answers in the Bible that aren't answered in Mormonism, I (and others) find it just the opposite. Mormonism fills in the blanks of who we are, why we're here and where we're going. That these people can't see that is indicative of a far greater problem. They should awaken, find the iron rod and follow it, for it leads to CHRIST and to eternal life. They need not change their love or appreciation of what they've learned in the epistles, for those writers all tutored Joseph Smith and perhaps others in our dispensation. We have the fullness of the gospel, and I could never go back to believing only the Bible. .

This video is very well put together. It has been edited in a coherent and effective manner. The premise "Difficult Questions that every LDS Mormon needs to answer" is clever. However, the presentation is very one-sided. There is no appropriate context offered. No rebuttal. Therefore, one needs's to be careful about drawing an objective conclusion. The editor has created a bias. That may not be a good thing for some. It follows that those being former members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints "Mormon", "LDS" have been chosen to be interviewed. They are giving a true presentation of their changing from one church to another. It is implied that they are changing religions "Mormon" versus "Christian". That in itself may imply to some that the "Mormon" Church is thus not "Christian". That is a poor conclusion. I am sure that if you were asked to list some Christian denominations any of the following might come to mind: Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, Baptist, Calvin, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and many more. In fact there are over 300 different churches that would correctly claim themselves to be "Christian". Of course, depending on your choice of religious affiliation you might argue whether they are "Christian". But, that is merely your opinion. In the dictionary it says "Christian" is: "a person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Christianity.". So technically, all these churches are "Christian"...Including members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You may disagree but...that is your opinion. Christianity is one religion in an array of Major Religions in the world. You would probably argue that the adherents of any other Major Religion: Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and several others are on the wrong path. They, by your definition, are not on a path of salvation. In, effect, they are all lost. That is a poor conclusion. We have an answer to that. But that's another conversation. To an atheist or agnostic most everyone else is confused or deluded. Of course you would just smile and walk away knowing who is confused! One of my concerns is how it appears that those in the video seem to have misunderstood what the LDS Church actually teaches. There seems to be the impression that their knowledge of the Bible while they were Mormon seems marginal or that there was a minimal emphasis on studying the Bible. In the LDS Church there is a four year study cycle. 1) The Old Testament, 2) The New Testament, 3) The Book of Mormon, and 4) The Doctrine and Covenants. A year is spent focusing on each of these books of scripture. Notice that two years are spent on the Bible. The Bible is a foundational work to the Mormon. Of course the Book of Mormon has a significant emphasis to us. But keep in mind that the Book of Mormon text includes many references to the Bible: The books of Moses, Isaiah, and others are referred to extensively. The very premise of the Book of Mormon is "...to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God...". So, there is a strong affiliation in the Latter-day Saint mind and heart with the Bible. However, that does not seem apparent in the minds of the people in the video based on the comments in the video. Another concern is where some in the video seem to have been easily convinced by some they perceived to be authoritative by the logical arguments they were given. Some of these arguments they were convinced to be contradictory to LDS teachings. In fact many of the claims they suggest are not contradictory with the teachings of the Bible. Most are in harmony with biblical teachings. You will recoil at my statement! However, many of the teachings we Mormons propose were current teachings in the original Church of Christ. In fact these teachings did not change for over 300 years. After that time significant and radical changes were made. Over the years the newer changes were accepted as being the "original" teachings. But that is not true. Some Bible scholars discuss this as historical fact. My point is that relying of solely "logical" or "right sounding" arguments or "proof" can get you into trouble. If you follow the same path these people took they could also be swayed by someone else outside their current faith - outside of Christianity, in another major world religion - or even by an atheist or agnostic. One of the young men mentioned his flirting with that concept, although briefly. In a word a "good argument" can put in a good place. But, it can trip you up. Someone in the Baptist camp or the Evangelical camp will concede some common beliefs. But after a conversation they will walk away knowing the other poor soul is confused, perhaps at his own peril! My suggestion is to keep an open mind and heart. There are MANY things that the Mormons can learn from a Baptist, Catholic or "Christian" - and we do. Essentially, the Catholic preserved that majority of what we call the Bible. But, some "Christian" churches would dismiss that church. Not good. Also, some can learn MANY things from the LDS Church. We offer that freely and with a spirit of enthusiasm. None of us get paid for doing it. You can share with us. Let us share with you. Interfaith exchanges are a good thing. The former BYU professor, a doctor talked against putting up walls. It should go both ways. Some claims were made against the LDS church and its history. Every church has had some "problems" with its history and leaders. Some people would consider Peter's denial of Christ (THREE times) as being problematic....That's another conversation... The concept of modern day revelation, of a living prophet is pivotal. For a very long time (milenia) that concept was not a problem. Around 315 A.D. it was arbitrarily decided that revelation and adding books as scripture was not to be tolerated. You need to sincerely address that concept. Having a living prophet in Moses's day was acceptable. It was okay during Abraham's time. People didn't have a problem with what Isaiah had written. Accepting the habit of the Twelve Apostles writing to the church members over a period of time to address new questions and problems...acceptable. But, today that is not acceptable... If God is the same, yesterday, today, tomorrow..... What it really boils down to is there is a living prophet. All the scriptures the Mormons teach from are true and teach good things. The teachings of the LDS church are uplifting and honorable. If you study what we have to say with a sincere heart, do your homework, you will be blessed. Plant a seed, as it were. Give it a chance to take root. Then, and this is the key, you need to pray about it. Then you need to listen - to Heavenly Father. Don't rely on the logic or understanding of those that deny. Like that one young man, you could end up an agnostic or an atheist. You will end up confused maybe angry. One young man, after leaving the LDS church says that he finally read the "Bible for the very first time" concerns me. I am glad that he is finally reading it. But, he should have done that before he went on a mission - shouldn't he? Any wonder why he was easily swayed? In the Bible there is a parable that Christ taught. There is mention of seeds being sown. Some fall on good soil, some not. When the sun comes some seeds take root. Others don't, they wither. Learn from that. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True church. Jesus Christ is at the Head of this church. The Bible hints of a falling away. His Church was restored in the latter days. It is organized in the same way that He organized His Church two millennia ago. We depend on the Atonement of Jesus the Christ. Without Him we are lost. That is what we believe. That is what we teach. The video closes by quoting from Ephesians 2:8-9. We also subscribe to what Paul is saying. Unfortunately, some misrepresent our understanding of Paul's words. As I said in the beginning "There is no appropriate context offered." If you are having doubts about us, include us in your assessment. Get both sides, objectively. Study, do your homework, pray, listen - sincerely. There are no easy answers. It requires earnesty and work. It is meant to be that way. If you take shortcuts...well... Thank you for your time. If you were living in my area I would love to have a conversation with you. I would drive a reasonable distance to listen to you. We are all children of God. Therefore, you are my sister or my brother! Take care.

Richard Bonilla the problem with your assessment of this video is your church’s Christ is not the same as every other Christian church’s Christ. The LDS church believes that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are three separate entities, and that God (Elohim) has multiple wives in heaven and that God has a mother and father God, and that if you as a human are good enough you will get into the top tier of heaven and become a God yourself and create worlds. This belief structure isn’t even monotheistic. By definition the LDS church is Polytheistic and legalistic in the sense that the blood of Christ is NOT enough to get to heaven. Also, one of the LDS “apostles” Bruce R. McConkie has stated that there are certain sins which cannot be covered by the blood of Christ’s atonement. That’s a verbatim quote from his book. I urge you to really take a look at your beliefs and see how they line up with the Bible. Because even the KJV (which is the only version your church claims is true and correct) disagrees with your doctrine and covenants, Book of Mormon, etc.

@aileen c Aileen. You don't know what you are talking about. First of all the name of the "mormon" Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". Including the name "Jesus Christ" should be your first clue that we believe in Jesus Christ. He is central to our faith. Use your dictionary: [Christian, "The term “Christian,” as we understand it, refers to anyone, man, woman, or child, who trusts in Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and Lord and who strives to follow Him in every area of life. ".] You can read from any of our publications that we believe in Jesus Christ, we love and adore Him. We strive to learn and abide by his teachings. Every Christian Church does this too. Now, you may disagree with what any church teaches but, if they believe in Jesus Christ. They are, by definition, Christian. If you are a Baptist you are still considered a Christian. If you say that you are a "member of the [Baptist] church....you are still a Christian. That is just common sense. It is obvious that you have been indoctrinated by an anti-"mormon" group. Doing so, by its very nature is not being very "Christian". It lacks respect, love and tolerance for others. It is judgemental. All four of those qualities go against what Christ taught. Didn't He say not to judge others? So, to me you are either confused, uniformed, or just plain angry. All, not very Christian. But, you are entitle to express your _opinion_. But, you _opinion_ is not a statement of fact. If you are going to make a claim at least explain yourself. You say members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint" "aren't christian they don't even call themselves christian". Ask any "Mormon" if they are "christian" they will happily say yes. Please explain yourself...

Being dismissive also doesn't help your cause...
@richardbonilla1921
@richardbonilla1921 3 года назад
@aileen c Okay... Let's start with some basics. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not worship anyone other than God. We have a great sense of admiration and respect for him but we do not worship or pray to him. The church does not teach us to worship him. Prove me wrong. Send me a quote from an authorized "Mormon" source that does. (include the link). Another concept is just the idea of erecting statues. People erect statues for many reasons. Some of the reasons is to remember them. True, some religious groups may erect statues and worship either the statue or the object of the statue. They have the freedom to do so. In this country they have certain freedoms of religion. But, as I said the LDS church does not. (Prove me wrong). We erect statues to notable people, heroes, etc. Like Washington, Lincoln, etc. Do you have a problem with that??? We do build statues of Jesus Christ. We do not worship the statue, but we do worship Him. Only Him. As for "holding Joseph Smith to a high role". Yes, we do. Why not? In the day of Moses, he was held to a "high role". Same for Abraham, Noah and other notable Christian figures. But, WE do not worship any of them... Note: ["Idolatry is the worship of an idol or cult image, being a physical image, such as a statue, or a person in place of God. - Wikipedia , (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idolatry)] Now the God of the Old Testament had a problem with idolatry. So do I, so does the LDS Church, as I have explained several times. Praising Joseph Smith, or George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln or anyone else for exceptional achievements does not equate to worship. BIG difference. If you don't understand that I can't help you. Some children praise their parents. Is that a bad thing? You need to rethink this. You seem to harbor bad feelings about my church. I can understand that. But your opinion is just that, an opinion. It is not necessarily a statement of fact. You need to provide a better argument to convince. I will listen to you if you are reasonable.

I didn't grow up in a good LDS household, I'm more streetwise than you Saints who have dwelt all of your lives in LDS bubble. I do appreciate that you Saints are polite and courteous. I encourage you to stay that way. I know what we really are up against here and on top of that I know what and who I really am. Soon you will know what and who I really am and appreciate the efforts of the Mighty Warrior King of Zion. Actually I'm here to clean up a major mess. All false religions shall soon be cast down before the Eternal Throne of David and purged from the Earth. I hope you're studied up on LDS eschatology. You Saints should be expecting the appearance of the Lord's final servant born unto mankind.

Terry Tippets Like Moses, Sampson, Samuel, David, John the Baptist, I'm a monumental servant of the Lord who was personally set apart, called and ordained by the Lord as young child. I happen to be chosen because of the choice ancestry I have in Israel. I'm of Northern European and Jewish descent. I'm of twin Royal lineage; a hybrid Hebrew / Jew. The Root line traces back to the Royal house of Jehu in the tribe of Ephraim. The Rod line traces back to the Royal House of David in the tribe of Judah. My calling in the Lord involved my death. I died and went to the presence of the Father. I was informed of my stewardship and of my own freewill chose to return to the Earth as the Lord's servant to prepare the way for His return. I was personally ordained a High Priest by the Lord Himself. He preformed my coronation as an eternal King. The final persons I saw before my eternal body was laid down for my special "stasis" was Joseph and Hirim Smith. Joseph Smith placed the keys of my mantle of authority upon me and the Lord placed His personal seal upon me. My spirit was jettisoned and returned back to Earth where I was raised back from the dead engaged as the Lord's servant. Like Moses had to grow up the house of Pharaoh, the house he would come against, I had to grow up in the House of Mystery Babylon the Whore riding the Beast that I get to come against. I'm here to fulfill the promises that our Lord made to our ancient ancestors. I'm going to restore the government Zion and bring forth the Eternal Throne of David and establish it's sovereignty. Like David, I'm the Warrior King who establishes the throne, subdues the enemy and then hands the Throne over to He who is greater than Solomon who shall rule in peace and sit in judgement. I'm Isaiah 11:1 coming at you live the Rod taking Root right before your eyes heir of Joseph and Judah born to synchronize with the signs of the times to materialize I'm Ephraim's house with David's Royal Dynasty Bring forth the Branch in Millennial Glory Jesus Christ King of Kings shall set His people free And rule over Israel for all eternity Got the "multi-colored dream coat, I'm the Prophet King bearing Angelic Ephods as I dance and sing in preparing the way before our Heavenly Kings The eternal Throne of David I here now bring

Mormons have the "fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ'' in the four Standard works of the Church, living Prophets and Apostles, Priesthood Authority and temple and missionary work. They strive for Exaltation in the next life, for the highest blessings, which is difficult for people of other Faiths to comprehend.

+Mike Powers - And that's why I said that LDS have the ;fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide them. It doesn't make sense to folks like you right now because you don';t have the fullness,... yet! You don't have Full Knowledge re exaltation, the 3 degrees of glory, other Gods and worlds without end and so forth. After all, Mormons have the Standard Works (and living Prophets and Apostles,) etc, to enlighten and teach them things of an eternal nature (i.e. the nature and true character of God), whilst you have only the Holy Bible to go by as tangible Scripture. I also believe that God reveals certain truths to and inspires people of most all other Faiths. We will all live for eternity, yes, but Exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom, God's highest heaven is the Ultimate blessing!

+Mike Powers "Because all you say are Lies!" Plenty of Mormons here have affirmed that the Bible is a true book, and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. I am sure you are exaggerating when you hastily say that all we say are lies, yes? On the subject of the priesthood that you brought up, 1 Peter 2:5-9 is referring to the fundamental truth that without Christ (our High Priest) we could not ever approach God, similar to how the Israelite Priests (as a symbol of the Messiah to come) were required approach the Lord on behalf of the people under the old law. So what the scripture is saying is that if I believe in Christ, I have the same right as the Prophet to approach God in intimate prayer. It is only through Christ that we have a relationship with the Father. When we begin speaking of the Priesthood (or the authority and power of God) in New Testament times, it is important to notice that Jesus Christ placed authority with the Twelve that he did not place with all of his disciples(followers). Furthermore, when we recognize what many other Christians refer to as the "five-fold ministry" it becomes apparent that there was, in fact, some structure of authority within the Christian church of old that was tied to actual authority from God. At the beginning of Acts, it is even demonstrated that the structure was important enough that the Eleven went through the effort of filling the vacant place left by Judas Iscariot's death. There is so much I learn about the Priesthood from the Bible that I could not know without it. The Bible is truly indispensable to my knowledge of God's power.

At first when I found out the actual and honest belief system of the LDS, that THEY are the True Church, and all the other "churches" that believe in Christ and follow historical biblical teachings are not gonna reach Heaven with Father (but the middle terrestrial heaven), I was pissed! I laid into a sweet Mormon friend...she is sweet, but her pride and arrogance came out when she finally, FINALLY was honest with me. I was consumed with offense and indignation out of Love for "my" Brothers and Sisters who are looked down upon by Mormons. I vented on her then railed on FB about Mormonism for all the world to see. Wow. I was wrong to do that. Was I wrong, technically, about the LDS? No. But the spirit in my heart was more of fiery condemnation instead of the Truth spoken in Love. I repented ( on my Wall! ) and have reaped the deeper revelation of His Love for my friend, for the LDS. I reflected more upon Mormons and realized that, of course, they are like every other human being in that they trust those above them as "authoritative" and that such leaders are obviously telling them "the truth". I mean, to question their parents and teachers and priests would fundamentally potentially shake up their whole world view, their whole paradigm. That is not simple for anyone, right? But I do feel it is intrinsically offensive to the Holy Spirit who testifies to the Truth of Christ. I do feel that Joseph Smith was quite charismatic and persuasive; it is not surprising to know of his "new" revelation as "the" religion, building impressive numbers in membership. Then throw in that the Christian Church committed evils against him and Mormons and you have a self-fulfilling prophecy: the "truth" is validated against the acts of criminals by "those apostates". The Church didn't help the Cause of Truth by sinning against the LDS. ( Have we truly confessed and repented of those terrible sins? ) My Love now is at a deeper level for the LDS, for Mormons, and I truly respect their spiritual desires to honor God, to build their Testimony, to seek God's approval and Ultimate Heavenly call. I also feel genuinely sorry for Mormons in that I think the inner Temple and rituals and deeper meanings of the religion are not borne of the One True God, but a deceptive, dark, distracting influence...a sinister source. With all due respect, I am not better than anyone on this earth, Christian, Mormon, Atheist, and so on. It is the Saving Grace through Faith of Christ that brings Salvation and Favor through being washed by the Blood of the Lamb...of being born again. The only difference is that His Grace has blessed me unto that Salvation. Again, it doesn't make "me" better than anyone in and of "myself". It is God. It is His Glory alone. I wish that for all of the LDS church. I wish them only the Best.

The disappointing thing about them leaving LDS, is that they still ended up believing in an ancient book that no one even knows who wrote it. While Joseph Smith was clearly a fiction writer, putting your entire life's belief in religion without "any" basis in fact is a big assumption to make. Religion is a artifact that I think will eventually disappear. It helped the human race in many ways but also proves very destructive in many ways. Humans can live moral, fulfilling, and productive lives without religion. There is no basis to believe we survive the termination of our brains.

Atheists are nothing new. They've been around since shortly after Cain. Funny how the scriptures testify to such true things and here we are *THOUDSANDS* of years latter with you Godless souls right before our eyes STILL in the 21st century. One of the very reason we are advised to believe in a higher IQ and Beings of such that make Einstein look like a one celled organism and guys like AronRa, Hitchens and company a true antichrist. - Throughout eternity, Mankind(s) is how GODKIND reproduces and when an atheist can *RATIONALLY* explain how the ancients knew some things that they never should have........ you might have a chance to overcome the truth of GOD in the minds of those who know better. Here's three examples that come to mind........ - 1) How would the ancients reason that a man's body is made of star dust?? Hence created from the dust of the earth?? What observations could they possibly have had to experience that reality to actually be correct by which THOUSANDS of years it took us only today and developed technology to see and realise they were correct?? This is where an atheist does a nose dive in the IQ department. Only one rational explanation and they said so as well........ Our Creators told them...........By the way..... The 59 elements found in the human body are all found on the earths crust. This is amazing because what the Bible says perfectly match the scientific composition of a human body. - Here's another stumper....... - 2) How did a bunch of old donkey riders THOUSANDS of years ago reason that there is an invisible, all governing, all powerful, non accessible by mortal means reality?? We call it the Spirit existence and the Power of GOD. Now....... THOUSANDS of years later we see OBSERVATIONAL and RATIONAL evidence of an invisible, all governing, all powerful and non accessible reality. It is reasoned and observed to dictate the nature of the atom to every galaxy in the observable cosmos. Science calls it Dark Matter and Dark Energy??. What observational means could the ancients have had to know of such a thing and been correct?? They said God told them. Logic is not an atheists best friend. :>) - 3) And the land was gathered unto one place..... How did the ancients know that?? Genesis 1:9 9 ¶And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. - The waters being in one place puts the land in one place as well. Modern science agrees that the land started out as one land mass. Now..... anyone with a half assed IQ should see that there is no way a bunch of ancient donkey riders knew that on their own. Somebody told them just like the scriptures say.

+happy winnings We read both throughout the year, each year in sunday school, not only that leslie I am 63, I read both, I came to be baptized because I read the book, I felt what is called the holy spirit, which I didn't know was, at the time. I grew up around these people, but wasn't happy with some of the kids I went to school with. But this was different. I know it's true, I know Joseph saw the father and Christ, and I know of studying for 42 yrs that, it's true, and that the bible brings us to christ, but after interpretations and such it is simply not a book with a perfect understanding, it also is confusing, everyone knows this, it's why we have multiple faiths and why expert bible scholars who are not biased, will simply state what I say. It's got many things in it, but stating it's simply the word on god, that's just not true. Apostles were writing with influence of the holy spirit, but it confuses at times and some things are left out. THe final thing is that you can see by someones works if they are doing what christ asks of them. Most people that leave the church, do so because they don't understand, they don't have to be perfect, Christ died so that his grace helps us return. But people struggle with this and at times, leave, because they feel they can't match up, that is satan that influences them. And then they bring their whole family with them at times. There are more people that stay in that were baptized as adults than any of these folks that find their voice suddenly and want to tell the world. It sort of reinforces and helps them to tell others. One thing is for certain, when someone sins against the holy spirit after receiving perfect light and knowledge, and takes others with them, they can't just leave the church, they will never stop speaking about it. Because that holy spirit once it bonds with yours, you can't deny it. It is unmistakable. THey will spend their lives explaining why they left, it becomes the center of all they do, it's an interesting phenomena that I've watched many times. It is an unpardonable sin, hopefully those that leave will come back. Staying in a faith when you don't nurture that word of god that you hear weekly is a sad place to be in, it's laziness but I've those that do this, that's when satan creeps in and suddenly they leave, not having known what they had. It was difficult for me to change a life style of a 21 yrs old, but I did it, and the Lord helped me every step of the way, I grew strong, and that helps me now, it was difficult time, in a new city with a new job and a new faith, but he helped me, he's always answered my personal prayers, I love him and I love my savior.

Faith is such a sacred thing. We should cherish everyone who has faith from whatever walk of life they come, Christians, Jews, Buddhist, Muslims etc. We are all imperfect, lacking a perfect knowledge of all things. Before we reach out to proudly to correct others we should reach to God and understand His will for us. A sign of pure religion is an educated humility.

I am a serious member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ive studied all the 4 standard works incl the Bible since I was baptised at the age of 8. My mum was brought up on the Bible and taught us from it. And with studying the BoM it sealed my testimony in the Saviour and His true Church on the Earth. All these questions you say are difficult I have answered for myself through my own personal study and research but i don't feel this is a forum to share my personal experiences. No one in this world is perfect and the Key to Real Truth and Real Faith is Obedience in the Lord, Jesus Christ and understanding how He answers our prayers and our questions (which I have asked all the ones these persons mention in this video). I do appreciate your testimonies of Jesus Christ though. He is the God of the Old Testament, came to Earth in the New Testament to Atone for our Sins and appeared to His followers in the Americas and in the isles of the Sea after His death. we are saved exclusively by the grace of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice alone without any works, and without the principle of repentance and turning away from sin then I ask:- Why did Paul write so often to Christian congregations admonishing them to abandon their sinful ways? Why did Paul have to tell believing Christians that those who committed various sins could not be saved in the kingdom of God? Why did Paul teach that Christ is “the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe?” Why did Paul say that “godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation?“ Why did Paul tell the Philippians to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling?” When discussing “the grace of God that bringeth salvation,” why does Paul say that it teaches “that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world?” Why does the epistle to the Hebrews say that Jesus was “the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him?” Also, and this is critical. Have you had the same experience or a similar experience as did President Lorenzo Snow when he prayed for a reassuring witness of the truth? I testify to you that I had the exact same experience many years ago. I would sincerely recommend to you that you ponder upon what he wrote in 'Teachings of Presidents of the Church' Lorenzo Snow ,Chapter 3. Its in LDS Library. You see the world is full of delusional influences specifically engineered to throw you off the path which could lead you back to your Eternal home. Some of them seem most attractive and appealing at the time, particularly when conflicting verses continually show up in the very Holy Bible itself. After all, you can pick and choose the ones you prefer, and reject the rest. None of your so called Christian friends will agree with me, but if you have already been party to that experience I am referring to , then in view of the actions you have taken in spite of that experience, you may find that you have unwittingly put yourself, and your family with you in extremely perilous circumstances. Maybe the bible scholar who translated from the original Greek had a late night out before he translated Titus 3:5. But whether he had or not, the Bible is replete with directly conflicting instructions? If you were a barrister defending the scholars' translations of the Bible in a court of law, and your submissions to the court in defense of truth were based on scripture with conflicting verses, then the prosecuting attorney would take both you and your scriptures to the cleaners. But I'm sure everything you are doing now feels perfectly normal, even beautiful and wonderful to you. You see, it was all subtly designed so that you would feel that way , through the philosophies of men, mingled with scripture.. The Lord said of such individuals " They draw near to me with their mouths, but their hearts are far from me".

Thousands of people have sincerely prayed to God and God has told them that Russell Nelson is a false prophet and that Warren Jeffs is a true prophet. Thousands of other people have sincerely prayed to God and God has told them that Russell Nelson and Warren Jeffs are false prophets and that Stephen Veazey is a true prophet of God. There are 100 sects of Mormonism. Obviously going by your feelings and even praying is not the way to determine what is true. The Bible never tells us to pray about spiritual truth. Instead, the Bible tells us to compare all things with Scripture (Acts 17:11; 2 Tim. 3:16) because it is through the word of God that we have spiritual truths revealed to us. Furthermore, the Bible tells us that our hearts are desperately wicked and deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9), and that we are to be very cautious about trusting it--which is why praying about truth and getting a feeling is so dangerous. Praying about what is true, is counter to Scriptural truth, and it essentially subjects truth to a feeling. Because of this, the Mormons have believed in a false God (who came from another planet), a false Christ (who was brother of the devil and us in the preexistent), and a false gospel (deliverance of sin by faith and works).

I cannot believe the light weight nature of all the comments made. All of their questions that they say stumped them, shocked them to the core, caused them to depart from the LDS Church are so very basic. It surprises me that so much time was dedicated to the production of this message when the substance is so piecemeal and lacking in substance. It is a shame. It is only by the power of the Holy Ghost that man may know for himself the truth of any thing. This is the defining and only perfect source provided to us by our loving Heavenly Father that we may embrace, so that in turn we are never deceived. My young children fully understand the key points that are being used as the basis for the decisions these folks have made. It is sad that so little understanding is being manifest by the words of these fine people. Although not surprising, it saddens me that in my personal experience and supported by this body of work too few understand let alone possess the Gift of The Holy Ghost. Additionally, I have witnessed far to many that have been given the Gift but have never utilized the power that God extends to all of his children through this priceless gift. Overall the most disturbing are the numerous statements that are just completely false as to the beliefs of members of the LDS church. Christ is mentioned more in the Book Of Mormon that any other record upon the earth.

What is even worse Brother Darrell McAdams is how Satan is for the "dumbdown". What goes hand in hand with the spiritual retardation of these masses of apostate Christians is Biblical illiteracy. Most apostate Christians as I have observed just carry their Bibles around. They let "ass clown" theologians tell them what to believe. They don't seek to ask or inquire for true knowledge and search the scriptures on their own as us Saints are directed by our Leaders to do. They just mindlessly parrot what has been declared from their pulpits. What it boils down to is they cling to the BS of the dogma crap of state instituted of the Dark Age. It induces he need to be told what to believe and it's has been pounded in the heads of mankind for so long, we are now faced with a bunch dimwits who won't see the light. Then on top of that, any kind of fear-mongering punk can induced hate and disdain for the supernatural truth with lies about the Saints and misrepresenting what we actually believe. For example, the "Mormons believe Satan and Jesus are spiritual brothers" routine. Isaiah 14:12 tells us that Lucifer is God's son of the morning. We know that Jesus is God's only begotten Son. Now obviously two sons of the same Father God are brothers. So all these apostate Christians can lay this issue to rest. For it is established in the Bible that all of us and Jesus and Lucifer are spiritual brothers and sisters. Personally, I have no problem with Satan being my spiritual brother. As long as the Devil doesn't try to become my spiritual daddy and try to inseminate my throat with lies and make me orally defecate this "lip service salvation" BS and the dogma crap of state instituted Christianity of the Dark Ages, I'm ok!

I don't feel I'm missing anything. So many doctrines of the church have been proven false. And once part of the foundation of your faith has been proven false, how do you believe any of it? I'm not a big fan of closed systems of thought. If you are afraid of holding your beliefs up to the bright light of reason, then you have to really question your system, don't you? Translation of Book of Alexandria, proven false. The age of our planet being between 5,000 and 7,000 years old, proven false. Adam and Eve as actual persons, proven false. And so on, and so on.... I have no ill will towards any person of faith. Still have many friends who hold various faiths and beliefs. But, for me, there is nothing there to believe.

Trevor Adams" If you are afraid of holding your beliefs up to the bright light of reason," Do you really believe in God?? If so and you believe in the Bible as the Word of God the light of reason, is precisely why LDS theology is the most accurate there is. "Closed Systems'??? That's interesting. Can you elaborate?? " Still have many friends who hold various faiths and beliefs. But, for me, there is nothing there to believe." So it looks to me you really don't believe in God. Do you believe in others out there in the universe??

Closed systems.... Being told to only read, listen or watch church approved material. Boyd K Packer said you're not allowed to criticize church leaders, even if the criticism if correct. I don't believe God lives as a man of flesh and blood on another planet. I don't believe, no matter what anyone does, that we become like unto God when we die. I don't believe anyone has a direct line to any God, through prayer, revelation or other means. I can't believe in a God that would let millions of children die every year, especially when their parents were crying to the heavens for help. There's no mysterious plan. Its up to each of us to find meaning in our short time here. And I don't believe that anyone needs religion to find it. I do appreciate the discussion. Many thanks for your willingness to debate. :)

We do good works BECAUSE we are saved, not TO BE SAVED. Works do not justify our faith, works are evidence of our faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast." 2 Nephi 25:23 "...for by grace ye are saved AFTER ALL YOU CAN DO" Two completely different gospels. One is good news, the other not so much. The true gospel is surety, the other is not sure. I care for the LDS, and I pray that their hearts and eyes will be open to the truth and can see the contrasting difference.

+Maemond Prokaide If you really cared for the LDS, you would stop lying about their teachings and doctrine. Now, you and I have been through this situation before, and you have refused to be honest and learn what LDS doctrine _really_ is. "After all you can do" does not mean that LDS think Jesus is not necessary for our salvation. Just the opposite, in fact. Jesus is our ONLY means of salvation. But as the Bible says, he expects us to do good works so that others can see them and glorify God. We do good works because that is what Jesus wants his disciples to do. Everything thing the Book of Mormon says about Jesus Christ, the Bible agrees with, and vice-versa.There is no "contrasting difference" as you claim.

JediMormon I have made every effort to be honest on LDS teaching, however do not confuse honestly learning LDS theology vs ACCEPTING LDS THEOLOGY as truth. Now you state that there is NO contrasting difference with the BoM vs Bible, Correct? Now correct me if I make a mistake on LDS teaching, but Mormonism teaches that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers, Right? Well, the Bible does not teach that. I cannot find that anywhere in the Bible, and matter of facts, the Bible teaches that Jesus is ETERNAL(Revelation 1:8,17-18), not created (John 1:1-3,14) and he created EVERYTHING (Colossians 1:14-16) So we have an ETERNAL Jesus, who created Lucifer along with everything else in Heaven and Earth. vs Jesus who came into being from Heavenly Father, who was not a god, but became exalted to godhood, and is the spirit brother of Lucifer. If you can provide scriptural Biblical evidence of Jesus and Lucifer being brothers, please let me know, so I can review it.

Maemond Prokaide *"Now you state that there is NO contrasting difference with the BoM vs Bible, Correct?"* Not correct, dude. I said that the in the matter of Jesus Christ, everything the Book of Mormon says about him the Bible agrees with, and vice-versa. *"Now correct me if I make a mistake on LDS teaching, but Mormonism teaches that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers, Right?"* No. "are" is not correct. This is where your lack of knowledge of LDS beliefs falls short. We believe that Jesus and Satan _were_ brothers in the pre-mortal existence. Satan rebelled and was cast down to earth, losing all familial ties to the family of God. That's why Satan is still a spirit, and not a mortal being. So, no...Jesus and Satan are _no longer_ brothers. *"So we have an ETERNAL Jesus, who created Lucifer along with everything else in Heaven and Earth. vs Jesus who came into being from Heavenly Father..."* Here's what LDS doctrine says: In the beginning, we were all spirit children of our Heavenly Father. You know the bible account of the creation, and it's the same as what LDS believe. There has been speculation among some LDS in past times about various events events that may have transpired, but speculation is not official doctrine. Read the Biblical account, and you'll have the LDS belief/doctrine on the matter.

-Hello, I'd first like to thank you all for your opinions, concerns. and research of religion. I am assured you are all extremely intelligent and I value all your opinions, beliefs, cultural opinions, backgrounds, and I have my own to share with you. I was baptized at the age of eight into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My family has been active in the LDS church for at least the past four generations and then some. One of my recent favorite scripture from the Book of Mormon is "11We Claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship, how, when, or what they may." (Articles of Faith 11, Book of Mormon) You may choose according to YOUR mind whatever you want., please allow me the same courtesy. -We are one as a church. Not everyone will act the same way or follow all the rules the way they should. No one is perfect and we are not all the same. Thankyou. -Who are we to say God didn't use some form of science to create the world? If he created all things didn't he give us science? Then why couldn't he use it himself, is it below him? Science is limited by technology(defined as the application of practical sciences), God is only limited to faith, it is your choice how you limit Him in your life. How or if you let him in is your choice. "7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:5-13, King James Version Bible) -Do Mormons believe we have and yield God's power? Power is administered by God to his worthy disciples, anyone worthy of the priesthood, these 'powers' is blessed with it and as long as their actions reflect God's will they have certain power to call upon God. "The word priesthood has two meanings. First, priesthood is the power and authority of God. It has always existed and will continue to exist without end (see Alma 13:7-8; D&C 84:17-18). Through the priesthood, God created and governs the heavens and the earth. Through this power, He exalts His obedient children, bringing to pass “the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39; see also D&C 84:35-38)." When Mormons refer to god, the heavenly father, they do not mean the God of the Bible and Christians. They are referring to a mythical Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god has not always been a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god but was a man that became a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man by obeying the commandment his Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god gave him and Mormons claim they too can become a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god or a goddess wife to their Mormon polygamist man god husband. I watch this beautiful video of former LDS members. I am so glad they have found Christ; because truly ONE MUST seek out Christ whom the prophets have foretold and spoken of. Now, leaving the LDS church is definitely a choice. I was a born again believer and NOW almost over 24 plus years as a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. It doesn't surprise me that these people or better yet, my brothers and sisters who left the LDS church because the word of God is a double-edged sword; one must take it within the full context of life. When a member who leaves the LDS Church as the above video suggest; then, they no longer accept the pre-existence, pre-mortal, and post-mortal doctrines which Christian Churches do not accept. And, they begin to accept "paid ministers" or what LDS members call "Priest Craft" preaching the word of God for pay. Nevertheless, it is important to be SAVED by GRACE for GRACE alone will ALLOW men and women to be AWAKEN in Christ! Then, once AWAKENED in Christ, we become NEW CREATURES, but one MUST be Baptized and Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost (John 3:3-5); hence, one cannot enter nor see the kingdom of God. Amen to these brethren and sisters, for they have NO LONGER Slumber BUT are awakened Spiritually. This first in order to live the life of For By GRACE one SAVED after ALL one CAN DO, is the road to Celestial kingdom. To be saved in the many mansions of God is by GRACE, but to be in the presence of God, it will require making and keeping covenants as one follows the discipleship of Christ.

The MORMON CHURCH is NOT NEEDED to have forgiveness of sin, and eternal life in the presence of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Unless you feel like paying them 10% of your total income to PRETEND that someday you perhaps, might, become a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god or a goddess wife to your polygamist god husband. All have sinned. “For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.” (Romans 6:23)

Brother Forrester, We pay 10% because tithes and offerings are a commandment of God's people (Malachi 3:8-10). You need to stay with the fundamental of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Salvation come by way of Faith in Christ, Repentance, Baptism for the Remissions of sins, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost (John 3:3-5). With just believing in Christ one is saved; but you must know that there are MANY mansions in our Father House, said the Lord; and if it were NOT SO, He wouldn't have said so. Because everyone is at different stages in their spiritual walk in Christ. When you suggest 10% as some kind of burden to pay; it is NOT, I'd rather pay a 10th then to sacrifice an offering of my only son of which I only have one. The tithes and offerings of the church is what allows temples, church buildings, and feeding the needed. Without the LDS Church there NO proper authority with keys upon the earth. Even Christ told Peter, upon you will I build my church (Ephesians 2:20). Regardless, what is important is that we are SAVED by Grace; but NOT Grace ONLY because even those who do NOT believe are SAVED from death and will be Resurrected because of the GREAT Gift of Christ. It is ONLY those that will Come Unto Christ that their sins may be forgiven; for in Christ ALL things are possible. Continue to believe in Christ because He is the Truth, Light, Life and Way back Home.

DR OSSIL V MACAVINTA If Mormons don’t pay 10% of their total income, endlessly fulfilling of other numerous requirements mandated by the Mormon Church and Mormon so-called prophets, then no “Temple Recommend.” No “Temple Recommend” then “Temple Endowment Ritual.” No “Temple Endowment Ritual” and handshakes, no admittance to the Mormon polygamist exalted man god’s celestial kingdom. No PRETENDING you can also become a Mormon tiny polygamist exalted man god or a goddess to your polygamist god husband. In the New Testament and therefore in Christians Churches tithing is not a requirement for forgiveness of sin and eternal life in the in the presences of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Through a Christian may tithe it is not a requirement.

When I found out that non Mormon Christian churches condemned babies to hell that were not baptized. I was appalled. These people do not understand the fundamentals of the gospel. The book of Mormon explains much of what the Bible has lost. Joseph smith is a true prophet of God and the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is the one and only church upon the earth that has all of the true doctrine of salvation. God has hidden much happiness in work. We do good works because God requires it of us. Makes perfect sense because he wants us to be happy through work and service. When we learn this mystery we become true servants of Jesus Christ by serving his children with love and patience.

I think the Wilders and the others in this clip should wholeheartedly follow the dictates of their own conscience. I know it takes a great deal of patience and constant truthful self assessment to allow the Lord to help us change, as this is something , many times, we cannot do for ourselves (we are human). I feel a deep gratitude to Jesus Christ, who experienced the incomprehensible task of atoning/standing in our place for all of the horrible sins and weaknesses and hurts and confusions and on and on and on I have done and had done to me in my life. I do everything in my power to do better each day and still fall short. Coming to trust Him and not fight against what He's trying to do in my life for me has been a turning place for me. It has brought me a greater peace and happiness and less self depreciation. I love Him with my whole being.

What I find really troubling about the mormon teachings is how these ex mormons for the most part needed to hear Christian arguments, I am guessing primarily through the internet to really understand the contradictions of their faith. Doesn't the mormon church use the Bible as a foundation? Why haven't these mormons ever read the passages in the Bible that clearly contradict mormon teaching? Does the LDS only focus on the teachings of Joseph Smith? Sounds to me like Mormonism hides a lot of things from their members....
