I only had the weird adventure version(levels were trying to tell some sort of story, to my memory) as a kid, but I think it was still fun. Might have been part of a namco museum, probably on the gamecube or ps2. Those were good times, even though I barely remember them now-

This brings back memories. When I was younger I played this game a lot. Although, I didn't know it was actually called Dig Dug until a couple months ago. I have always referred to it as Digger Dude and I always will. I was glad to see you played this game guys.

I want to send a sincere thank you to game grumps, (and affiliates: steam train, NSP, etc.) for getting me through so many hard times. Anytime my world is falling apart and I feel like there's no point to anything, I know I can come here and relax. Your videos always take me to another world. It's hard to explain, but it takes me away from the real world for a bit and let's me recharge before I have to go back and fight the everyday demons. You guys give me strength. Thank you for just being your goofy selves, and saving me, so many times. Keep playing games while being grumpy and not so grumpy.

when i was a kid my grandparents had dig dug arcade machine in the basement. Little tip. Its Not how many you kill with a rock that gets you points. Its the earth you dig and how deep you dig. The lowest earth gives you a lot of points. the higher gives less. So you dig while you can and kill before they run away.

I didn't notice that the sound effect from using the pump is also used in Mr Driller in the select screen until they pointed out how "Mr Driller is the guy in Dig Dug's son". Not that it is true, but just the mention of Mr Driller.

The arcade game goes to level 255 and at stage 256 it gets a kill screen and spawns a pooka on you. Kill screens are awesome
