I found out I had endo through laparoscopy in 2020. I was on the pill for two years and we are trying to start a family now, so I hope that works out. When I was 15 (10 years ago) I started having this pain accompanied with diarrhoea. I would only eat at specific times in the day and only things like cooked rice, steamed potatoes or carrots, or bananas. I lost around 40 pounds within 1-2 years and my parents did nothing about it, because I used to be chubby. To this day I do not know why I kept it from them that some nights I would stay up, sneak out and walk my dog for HOURS, because only fresh air and movement helped, along with starvation of course. Hope I’ll do better for me and my future family. Luckily my husband is supportive and non-toxic. Stay strong, we’re in this together ❤

Hi I have endometriosis diagnosed laparoscopy from an ectopic pregnancy. Stage 1. After my surgery it seems like bloating and back pains we're pretty much in everyday thing. I don't know about everyone else's doctor but my didn't seem comfortable recommending a diet when it wasn't a for sure cure. However, they had no problem recommending birth control. I understand that might work for some people, but within the next year I might try to be pregnant again. I also have seen younger healthy women on birth control all with dilated veins which makes me even less comfortable with birth control. Some of which have endometriosis and say it doesn't really help with their symptoms at all anyway. Honestly, I'm going to give it up to my own research. Because if it wasn't for me trying things or researching things myself I wouldn't have had this kind of advice from my doctors. I cut out certain foods or just with limit those foods such as gluten, dairy, sugars. I also started running. I freaking hate running. But with a combination of all those things I don't have back pain or bloating hardly anymore if not at all. The only thing I would maybe take away and consider from this video is maybe seeing a dietitian one day. We'll see. I hope they start doing more research as it could very well be the reason I have one fallopian tube right now and no baby. The reason that I have insane anxiety most days.

Hi, I agree...I just had a Laprascopy and realised it was really bad. I even needed a second surgery the very next morning. He wants me to take Visanne...I can't possibly take that due to the side effects. I'm totally confused as to my diet, and I'm basically going to do as much research as possible on my own. I now have 1 working ovary and a csection and no baby. I'm still recovering. I know I'm supposed to cut out sugar, gluten, etc..but it's not helping my bloating. Also!!! No amount of fruit and veg ever helps constipation for me. It just doesn't.

I think that GI involvement continues into menopause. Everyone seems to think that menopause ends endo, but endo is more than misplaced uterine tissue. Also it may be that having one or two genes for hemochromatosis encourages the uterine tissue to migrate in the first place. If you have a gene for hemochromatosis, having a period would prevent over accumulation of iron, but that protection will be lost at menopause. No reason that endo isn’t also more common in women with one or two copies of the genes for celiac disease as well.

I never know I had endometriosis because I never had period pain or any kind of uncomfortable during periods until last year I had ectopic pregnancy and doctor found it during surgery. And after that I TTC but nothing happened so I went to see a specialist about my infertility issues and she straight point out endometriosis need to be removed otherwise I won’t be able easily get pregnant or IVF. So during surgery she also found I have a uterus poly. And my endometriosis was grow on top of bladder and ureter. No wonder I always want to use toilet days before my period.

And ms. MELANIE SAT THERE with her arms crossed basically baby shaming. I literally crawled into her office popping painkiller ....now 15 years later I was in a foreign hospital paying 7k for surgery and a blood transfusion. And I still don't know what to do. I'm not about to take Vissane either. 😒 Anyway.....keep researching and put yourself first. Don't back down.

I can appreciate the "don't do it yourself off the internet," advice, but when you go to multiple doctors and ALL they say "just take Motrin," or "why aren't you on birth control?" or "well, we have this injection that can put you into temporary menopause that should fix it (prescribed to me by a male doctor when I was 25). I took that injection and the emotional side effects were so severe that I was very low and having thoughts of un-aliving myself at the time during the duration. When the Gwyneth Paltrows of the world recommend going gluten-free, they're doing a hell of a lot more than my useless ob who prescribes me birth control, tells me "good, you're thin...you shouldn't have problems" and shuffles me out the door. DO BETTER, medical industry. Stop prioritizing prostate cancer and ED. Listen to women. The severe cramps and awful symptoms aren't just a "normal" part of menstruation.

This is an old thread but in case someone comes across it that is wondering the same thing, dairy can be both. Different dairy products contain different amounts of lactose, which on FODMAP, is what you’re trying to avoid. Hard cheeses might have low levels of lactose while soft cheeses might have high levels. Butter is relatively low in lactose while creams and milks will have a lot more. It’s best to get an app that tells you FODMAP compatibility and check it food by food.

Some of us do need meat agree that dairy makes it worse but meat was important for me as I couldn’t digest what I needed to on vegan diet because of having some of my bowel removed because of endometriosis as well as my gallbladder and appendix and my digestion is rubbish now I can’t eat many vegetables and practically no fruit and beans and lentils and grains all all hard too. I’m on keto now dairy free egg free soy free as those things trigger my pain but I needed meat even on iron tablets I couldn’t keep my health ok without meat. Animals themselves eat other animals and are the cruelest to each other when killing each other to eat animals would die if they didn’t eat other animals so there’s some serious flaws in this animals are as valuable as humans debate. Animals are the worst animal rights activists ever because nature is nature animals understand that there’s a hierarchy and that’s part of nature so yes some animals deserve to die to feed the bear and the wolf and the lion and the dog and the cat or we wouldn’t have any of those animals they wouldn’t have survived to be here today if they hadn’t eaten other animals so if you love dogs or cats so much you ought to be glad that so many animals died to keep those types of animals alive till now when you can torture them and ruin their health by trying to feed them a vegetarian diet because if you don’t think animals deserve to die for humans how can you justify animals needing to die to feed other animals

I think she's talking about cases like where the endometriosis isn't that severe and it's a "borderline" case of "is this about just hypersensitivity like in irritable bowel syndrome or is this the combination of both endo and IBS?". She's a doctor treating patients with it. She is explaining the fact that we need to focus more research on diet and endometriosis. Also, she isn't wrong. What works for one patient may not work for another. It's the same with pharmaceuticals. I was prescribed a hormone to stop my periods and all it did was make them erratic and unpredictable and longer. That's not how that drug was supposed to work, but that's how it affected me. Meanwhile, I have IBS and Endometriosis and low fodmap brought me from the brink of death because my digestive issues were causing multiple nutrient deficiencies.

Hypersensitivity can cause pain. A more well known example for you: Hypersensitivity to bright light can cause extreme migraines for some people. I have a friend who gets nauseous, vomits, or even faints, if the lights are too bright. We're primed to take any hint of "your pain isn't 'pain'" and go on the defense because that's what doctors tell us all the time, to just, "live with" our pain as if it weren't real. Real life people can't do that. If people could do that we'd have no need for painkillers for surgeries, people could just decide to not feel pain and sit through it happily. We all know that response from doctors is bogus and incredibly insensitive. So any hint of it, we go defense That's not what this lady was saying though. She was saying hypersensitivity causes real pain, which is NOT in your head, and that it can be partially managed through diet for some people to prevent the hypersensitivity being triggered.
