Swedish self-reliance! Excellent and thanks for the video! ...you must also have an all access pass to all the heavy equipment in your town - airport, quarry, supply yard, etc. Cool.

You certainly know how to make it difficult for yourself. A 6” diamond core bit would have made mincemeat of it ideally drilled from the outside in before lowering the concrete ring into the hole.

Call me a smartass for saying I would have cut the hole before putting the ring down there! Still, you are a one man show of DIY determination! I Thought it was funny that the poor little car is still under the conveyor! 😁

Just wondering why you didn't dig a bit deeper, lay a foot or two of washed stone at the bottom for filteration, then build up with the concrete and surround it with the rock as you are doing??

(Yes, late comment) It wouldn't have made sense to dig deeper because the intention was to use the pump in the existing well to pump the water out, which was only so deep. Digging any deeper wouldn't have helped to get more water up to that level - that's why he dug wider instead.

Oh wow yall high a high water table there. We lived very close to the Mississippi River. And our wells had to go down 150 feet with a 48 inch pipe. To feed our pivots on the big one that cover all most 700 acers it had to have a 56 inch I believe. Our old house next to farm headquarters our water well for the house was about 20 foot. And had the best water you could get. It was very cool but not to cold to drink and enjoy. Seeing how it was in all most pure sand did a great job as a filter.

Hooklift trucks are truly amazing. They are usually capable of lifting/pulling WAY more than a medium sized excavator. There are containers that have a capacity of 30 to 35 cubicmeters and if those are filled with dirt, rubble or other stuff that can weigh easily a few tons.

I so desperately want to move to whatever economy this dude is living in, the sense of community displayed in these videos genuinely has me shook. How do you just go to the local giant quarry, grab the keys to the loader and take what you want? Its obviously not *your* operation and you already have a rock crusher on your own but just the fact that you all work together as a community to support eachothers projects is just so... dreamy. Its really frustrating that I cant even imagine what my life would be like with this level of support network. I'm so envious. Your channel is really giving me a mid life crisis over here.

You need a portable axle extractor fan and a flexible duct = the duct is fitted to the outake of the fan, and the other end is hung down the side of the hole/restricted space, then with the intake of the fan facing away from the hole and quite a distance from it and switched on = the fan will blow clean air down the hole - an air supply, and you would be able to use that petrol drill for much longer. I knew that dust mask wouldn’t work for the fumes

I felt your pain with the short chisel. I keep a long medium chisel and long narrow chisel in my tool bags. Cutting off a stub of pipe makes it a lot easier to mark your hole. Once you have your hole cut, you can make more holes inside and use the chisel to break out chunks with wedge action, it doesn't take much to get started.

Nice work again, thank you for the video. It's so easy to relate to your videos as a Finn as everything is so similar as here - the machines, the ways of working, the attitude of people and so on. I just hammer drilled a hole in a well ring on my yard last week, now it was surprisingly relaxing to just watch someone else fight with the same thing 😀 Why didn't you use the cordless hammer drill in hammer mode? Wrestling with the Pionjär in horizontal work is horrible, no need to go to the Cross Fit gym after that.

if i may, i was a plumber for 20 years before i broke my back. when you were punching your hole through, you could have drilled a few more holes inside the area you wanted to remove, a bit more mindless work with the drill, but it takes some of the "tension" out of it and gives the concrete you are trying to break somewhere to go. not sure im making sence but had done it many many times working in sewer man holes.

When you were trying to bust through for the pipe, you should have drilled a row of holes down the center as well and the piece would have easily broken out. As it was the webs of concrete around the entire circle was supporting the whole piece you were trying to break. then again, it was probably thicker than I thought. You should have made the hole before you put the concrete section in the hole, but you probably realize that now. Cliff

The water travels through the ground between the two new reservoirs. I'm no hydraulic engineer, but here's my take: The pump in the old well is more than enough for a modest house like this. We saw how much water it can supply when the excavator was being washed. The problem is that the well can't keep up with the pump. A well retrieves water from ground water beneath and from under the well walls. Both new wells work the same way. The first new well is now directly connected to the old well, so the potential new flow rate achievable by the old well is governed by that pipe, which is easily capable of keeping up with the pump. The first new well must have maybe ten times the potential flow rate of the first, because it is well over three times the diameter. More than enough to keep up with the pump. The second well was an afterthought, we saw that. I can't see much in the way of a gain unless a new pump was installed with a much higher flow rate. If a need arises, I think those covers will come off, and a pipe will be installed between the two new reservoirs. Maybe we'll see in a few years!

excellent video, just out of curiosity, i am not sure if you have said it before, but is there a reason you push the sprinkler hatch to the side when tipping instead of mounting two bolts on the top, making it into a flap and just dump it straight out?

Thanks for sharing your project. Why does the well need such a wide hole? Is it for winter ice?

Thats correct. The rink will be covered with a big sheet of ice.

Next time rent a core drill and you’ll save time and hands and with wet cut even rebars can be cutted smoothly

can you tell us the horsepower , torque , and displacement of your truck engine and mfger ? Also , what is is the maximum amount of weight in pounds it can carry ? The takeahuchi is close to 30,000 lbs I believe . Is this kind of work what you do for a living to pay for all your other personal construction projects ?
