It's always interesting to hear about the backstage politics of the scripts and script possibilities. I've said before that it adds so much context to the movie's creation.
Thank you for such an insightful video! As a child in the mid 70s, having seen Beneath on television,I always felt that there was a better movie inside the one that was ultimately released.
Thank you so much David Ryan. I agree that the film has so much in it that is just bulging to express and yet it feels constricted. The final version is less than what should have been made but I still enjoy it despite all its tarnishes. Look forward to your opinion on our part 2 video. Thanks so much for the Super Thanks.
Just watched this movie yesterday (going through the series with my roommate who's never seen them). Glad to see your video in my feed. Very informative!
I often think of these movies as ones I've never seen, but as I watch your videos, I realize that I watched them on TV as a kid, and my long-lost memories of them are coming back to me.
I might have gotten the wrong end of the stick from this, but the more I hear about Charlton Heston the more he goes up in my estimation. I originally wrote him off (as a person) as a hard-right republican with a sinister agenda. Now I'm beginning to think otherwise and look upon him as a man with some intelligence, imagination and a generous spirit. Whether I'm in error or not I thank you for making me think on this.
Charlton Heston was one of the main celebrities behind the 1960's Martin Luther King movement. He pushed for equality and freedom such as gun rights with passion. He shared sensibilities of both parties like many NORMAL people do in America. He was outspoken and sometimes a bit arrogant, but his sincerity was for real.
@@RepresentThis Thank you for the info, I'm glad I mentioned it. I'd much rather think well of someone as not and it sounds as if I was definitely misguided about the gentleman.
Ooof! So many possible sequels, all with their own flaws. I'm not sure the one we got was any better. Not every franchise gets an 'Aliens' improvement - some movies should just wrap up with the original story.
I have to be honest and say I've never seen the television series but since I've started the channel I've only gone back to old media and watching the apes show sounds really fun.
