I think that for kids, going to school is their "job". I can't imagine starting a new school year is much different than starting a new job for us- a bit stressful in the beginning!
My daughter always needs a little down time when she gets home from school. We started giving her 30 mins to do whatever she wants. It has helped so much.
Your bringing me back to my childhood with all “The Little House in The Prairie” mentions. I remember this episode too with Carrie. Such tearjerkers! 🩷💕
It’s so wonderful that you recognize what your kids are dealing with emotionally. Especially the little ones are often physically exhausted too even though they don’t take naps anymore at that age they school is still really demanding on their stamina. Hope y’all have a blessed school year! ❤🙏
My boys were the same after school. I kept it easy and chill with food for the first hour. Didn't ask about their day, let them have quiet time or a bit of TV. They would come to me and tell me about their day later then any homework. It's a hard day for them then AHHHHHH when they get home.
My youngest daughter (who is now 25 yrs old) was so shy in school. When she would get home from school, the whole school year, she would talk our heads off all evening. Lol. And it’s because she had been so quiet and shy all day at school. Lol 😂 I had totally forgotten about that.
Oh I totally remember scratch and sniff stickers! I used to have a book of them and we would trade stickers during recess or before school. Back when life was simple! Also, I feel like I ate a lot of green apple jolly ranchers. Did they sell them by flavor?? I don't think I've ever purchased jolly ranchers on my own as an adult! LOL!
Tuna salad kits are perfect for "emergency food supply" stash. (I live in hurricane country so I like little things like that that have a long shelf life and would work in a pinch!)
I wrote this after watching your "I need a nude" video: In case you are interested, a squeaky door can be "fixed" by spraying some "Pam" (spray cooking oil, NO flour formula) right onto the door hinges. I have used this trick SEVERAL TIMES in my home, and I love it!! You just have to move the door around a bit after spraying both hinges (open, shut, open, shut, repeat) for the "oil" to get where it needs to go to stop the squeaking. Just put a couple of short sprays right on each hinge, "work it in" and it should be good to go. I thought this might make your morning videoing with the kitties a little easier! If the squeaking doesn't bother you or your kids, then no worries! ❤ I love you and your videos SO MUCH, Emily! You put so much time, research, positivity, effort and LOVE into your videos. You brighten my days, and with chronic pain, I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET!! Thank you! Love you! Bye!! ❤🎉❤
these day's every back to school time is weird my daughter is 27 today uk schools are not back in yet but it's hard not be still in the mind set between school collage and university I miss it I loved the age your girls are at now their excitement priceless xx
My niece is having a baby and today is her shower. Oh such great times!!! My dad will have his first great grand baby! I pulled out my Maneater palette. Lol
About Eve’s “short fuse” phase-she might just be reacting to people fatigue. She has had to be around all kinds of people all day, and she might just need about 5-10 minutes of “Eve on her own” time. I am glad the girls are enjoying school! 😊❤
My goodness, I second this!!! I’m 45 years old and I can absolutely relate to this! My husband I called it “being people’d out.” Also, with school, it may be the noise. She may just need some peace and quiet all the way around.
@@LindsayD228 As a high school teacher with larger than usual class sizes this year, I totally get it! I have juniors, and I already know most of the kids I have from previous classes they have been in with me, but sometimes a small quiet class is the best thing ever after a class of 35. Em, this content is awesome! Thanks! WE love YOU too!
I love your tangents!! Keep ‘Em coming. My daughter is 39 when she comes to dinner “hangry” watch out. She thinks it’ll be on the table when she walks in!! 😮 I love her lol
A cup of coffee and a video from Emily are great ways to begin my Saturday. Love the cameos (or should I say “catmeows” 😉) by Biscuit, the owl mug and fall decor as well as the recommendations. Have a great weekend all.
My closest WM has never had Hard Candy, Little London and the Milani section has gotten smaller and smaller. My son was always so jazzed after school I had to give him a cool down, like walking a horse....LOL! Such a lovely look and a fun video, thank you.
In the Wet N Wild palette, 6 of the upper right shades reminded me of the Pat McGrath release in Velvet Liaison from earlier this year. I almost bought the PML version a couple weeks ago at Marshalls, but I decided to pass. I think you're right--people would like those Wet N Wild eyeshadows in smaller versions. :)
It's crazy weather my friend, you've got the heat down there, we've got the tornados and rain up in Michigan! Stay safe, stormy season is here! If you have an iphone there's a setting to silence any unknown callers, it will allow anyone in your contacts to go through. The majority of the time I love the setting, it's a little tricky if you're expecting a call from say a delivery person, either you have to watch your phone or remember to undo the setting. But otherwise the silence from robocalls is worth it!
You hit the nail on the head with your observation about the "short fuse". "Your children feel safe at home when they can fall apart a little." Gee, thanks... If you think about it, more than a few grown adults need time to relax and decompress before engaging with the household. And while we are skipping down memory lane, does anybody remember Dial-a-Lash mascara?
I work at a school and I had to take a 30 min nap after school the first day. New routines get to me, and going from no people to an entire school of kiddos gets to me the first couple days. I get it!!! And that cover girl blush….. I’m pulling that out TODAY!!! Same color too! And I’ll be looking for that Milani stick blush… great combo! Thanks for helping us love drugstore Em!!! You’re THE BEST!!! 🥳
My daughter had the transition after school in elementary. Later she was diagnosed with ADHD in 6th grade. She was trying so hard to be on her best behavior all school day and needed that transition to relax at home.
Good Morning and Happy Saturday, My favorite start to the morning is having my coffee with Emily and her subscribers. It feels like the safest place on the internet. I love a drugstore shop my stash!!! Yes and it’s also still hot down here in Florida. Pool day for sure..
I notice that you use your setting spray before you do your eye makeup. Is there a reason? I would think you would want your eye makeup set too. Love your stuff, by the way, I wait for them Tues, Thurs and Sat every week!
Good morning to the person I have been spending Saturday mornings with since 2017! I had just watched your review of ND I need a nude palette and my goodness no one can review a palette like you! Also very much enjoyed the family voice over last week! ❤❤❤❤❤ always a big fans.
My favorite jolly rancher is green apple. I’m just because my mother texted me complaining of an increased volume of spam calls about 30 seconds before you mentioned it!
Good morning Emily, you’re always one the best parts of my Saturday mornings and I’m here to enjoy it for as long as I can! Thanks for being there for me 🤗🥰
I love that Wet n' Wild palette. Big, yes, but I plan ahead so I'm not stretching or reaching for my other eye makeup essentials. It's worth the extra step. "Hey Wet n Wild... listen to what Ms. Emily has requested. I know I'd buy that smaller sized palette! 😍💕😁 Love you Emily...and thank you for sharing your lovely moments and thoughts with your audience. We come for the makeup but we keep coming back because of YOU! 💗🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💗 Get well soon! 🤧😷💕
My kids do that as well. I give them the ride home to air their grievances against the world without any input from me. They just need to get it out. But once we get home they have to get it together. And if they need more time then they stay in the car until they’re ready. It helps to give them a set time to get it all out and let them know it’s ok!!
Good Saturday morning, Sunshine 🌞! Yay, drugstore! 🎉 I laughed when your cat biscuit almost knocked something over. I have 4 siblings Cats 🐈 i have to have eyes everywhere. I just love them so much, though. Enjoy your weekend ❤.
Coffee, drugstore makeup it doesn't get any better! Emily when you came to Chicago for your meet and greet I was second in line! I've been here from the apartment days, I love you!!! You're my info AND my comfort ❤
SUCH a fun video! you always deliver the best! Love the soft mink blush. I like to use it for a natural, healthy look. I picked up that Lottie London mascara a couple of weeks ago. I love it, but I add a little volumizing mascara over it. Doing this gives me great length and awesome volume with no smudging. And...I'm with you: watermelon!!!❤🤗❤
My introvert kiddo always needed some downtime after school. Time to himself before I would try to address anything else with him. After that time he was ready to cope again. Takes a village. ❤🦋
I love these videos, no matter if it’s drugstore, high end, or mid range. I have so much makeup, and tons that I bought and ended up hating, but pulled it out to give it another chance before it goes to the trash, and ended up liking them😂
In canada most schools go back after labour day weekend, so around Sept. 5-6. Our schools do close later than most schools in the US. Here schools do not close until around June 25. Fun fact. Where I grew up in New Brunswick , Canada, schools went back early, around 2nd week of August, then we get out again in the 3rd week of Sept for 4 weeks so kids can help farmers pick potatoes. Its called " potato BREAK'. It was observed by most of the Province, except the southern part of the Province that is closest to the AtlanticOcean. I think it's no longer done as farmers are more automated, but this was done for a hundred years or more.
@@makeuplover6852YES!!! I grew up in Norway, where those were called ‘potato vacation’. Not much of a vacation, though; it was back breaking work. In my mind’s eye I can still see rows and rows of children’s backs across the farmers huge field, seems like yesterday (though I’ll turn 75 tomorrow). Mid day we’d drag ourselves to the farmer’s wife’s looong table for a hot meal.
Emily, your videos are such a pleasure to watch. It is so appreciated that you stay above the RU-vid drama that seems to pop up on my feed. You are adored and trusted. Thank you.
Gosh yes! I remember my kids going through that mini meltdown phase around that age. It didn’t last, but I do remember it. 😂 Also , when my daughter was that age, she said she wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher. Well, she’s 21 now and on track to have her degree to be an early elementary age teacher next year.
I got the palette thanks to you and I use it a ton. I leave it out since it’s large instead of putting it underneath smaller ones. I tend to grab it when I don’t have a specific thing in mind to use since you can really go any direction with all the choices of color and finish. No regrets! Glad you’re feeling better!
Another Amazing video. Loved you did old school makeup with a twist! BONUS PONITS FOR DRUG STORE. Mo letting London or Not much wet & wild at my Wally World in Northern Colorado. Hit 102 here. Broke the state record! Now, driving in a deluge of heavy rain! 😂 Welcome to a wakey summer weather report!
Aww, Bub with the text, so sweet. 🥰 Love these shop my stash videos. I’m trying to do the same, just purged my drawers and rediscovered faves. That CG soft mink blush is a classic and works for any look. I have Wild hearts, I need to pull that out, always gets forgotten as it’s so big, it has to sit by itself. Another good tuna kit is the Bumble bee, I get the fat free version, which is pretty good, a little sweet, but good. Tuna salad, crackers, and a spoon. No mint. 😂 Made these awesome meatballs that were so easy, you might enjoy. 20oz 99%fat free ground turkey (or chicken) 1/4c Pesto 1/4c bread crumbs Garlic, salt, pepper or spices of choice Bake at 350 for around 20-25 minutes or until done. They are great with just some buttered noodles or I made a little meatball Italian wrap thing for lunch one day (tortilla, pizza sauce, mozzarella, sliced meatballs) Making them again this week, plus another version that use stovetop stuffing. 😋
Five below gift cards are a great bday or stocking stuffer. The kids feel like they are getting a lot for the $ compared to most places. It become a full on “shopping spree” for a younger kid. Beautiful look today!
Yay! I love shop my stash videos!! My collection has grown so much over the past year. I've been researching storage options to help me remember what I have. I cannot believe summer break is almost over, and my twins are entering kindergarten next week!
5 below is the store that you go with your grandma and she’s like ok you have a $10 budget and u and your sibling go wild 🤣 dollar tree was also one of those stores
Trying to watch my Saturday emily video with my coffee and my husband who usually works is home and doesn't understand this is ME time😂😂 I'm like you'll get me AFTER my emily vid! Deal w it😅❤
Love Drugstore Videos‼️‼️ Everything is so expensive these days can’t afford high end. IDK if you’ve tried the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink & Vinyl Ink⁉️ Gisela on Grizzly True Crime uses the Vinyl Ink and it does not budge and her videos are LONG‼️ My daughter uses the Matte Ink and wore it to Ed Sheeran, also didn’t move the entire night‼️ Feel better, allergies are bad for me right now too ‼️
Em, thank you! Harkens back to a happier time for me. Tomorrow I will be inspired to bust out my Wet n Wild cream products stash. A ton of new, never used products. Fall has the promise of deeper lipstick shades for sure. Resilience Kindness Graditude Tolerance...sincerely, Brooklyn [ your friend forever ]
School can be a lot on a child so definitely good to let them wind down a bit and decompress; I know it helped me a lot as a child. They have the cutest clothes at Walmart lately! ❤ Love the video and I’m ready for all the fall makeup looks to hit RU-vid… I need a reason to pull out my Tarte Lil’ Toasted palette… it’s time for me to give those palettes from my holiday purchase some love 💕🥰 We are excited for football season here too 🎉 I need that Wet N’ Wild palette 😮 but also I want them to come out with a mini; I love mini palettes 🎨
I remember that age! My son, now 28, in kindergarten, you could not talk to him the 20 minute drive home. I think it was exhaustion. But he needed that down time to just sit in his seat and chill out lol.
Happy Saturday Emily, First thing! I remember when you introduced the physicians formula sculpting bronzer on your channel. Love the Wet and wild and tarte eyeshadow video. One of my favorite videos. Also love the Disney princess lipstick video. The video where you matched a lipstick to a Disney princess’s lip color. Yes please, do more of these shop my stash videos ❤
I'm in NY and we're not back to school until Sept 7th -- of course, we don't finish til the end of June so it's a trade off. My oldest is in college now in the South so we're experiencing both calendars -- she's been in classes for a couple weeks now whereas for her sister it's still summer vacation!
I had my wisdom teeth removed on Monday and I'm just now starting to feel better. Thank you for your videos! They kept me entertained during the worst of the recovery.
I saw a tik tok that made me think of your headband. Apparently, the ears are to use like a hair tie. So flip it and give it a try! I have no idea if that's legit but thought I'd share! Also excited to see your drugstore recs😊
