I’m probably an anomaly but I still come to RU-vid for most of my viewing. I like seeing in depth GRWM’s and reviews and I feel like the format of TikTok doesn’t allow that. Plus I enjoy the “chatty” nature of YT, like hearing what’s happening at cheer practice or on Bold and the Beautiful. I also enjoy shop my stash videos, revisiting past favorites instead of the focus on buying new stuff all the time. ❤

I prefer watching you on RU-vid because it feels more like conversation with a good friend. I like just drinking coffee and doing our makeup together. I love hearing updates about the kids, Bub, family, weekend plans, fun food finds, the singing, etc. OG Beauty Broadcast watcher here! ❤

Hi Emily! I have not jumped on the TikTok bandwagon at this point. I am in my early 40s and have been watching you since 2015. I have really narrowed my scope as to what I watch-however it’s isn’t so much the content as the person filming! I follow a handful of people, and you are one of the only channels I will watch every video posted! I feel like we have had our kids together and share a lot of similar values- so I feel like we are friends! ☺️. That sounds kinda goofy, but it’s true! I love watching you put on makeup and wake up with us in the mornings! I like when you try on new makeup or dig out your older makeup! I love when you have your end of year Emily awards!! Quite honestly, your channel is my favorite of all the makeup channels I've ever watched. I go to your channel specifically for the longer, "sit down and have a cup of coffee and get ready with me" vibe and content. I watch this either early in the morning or right before bedtime as a fun, relaxing way to get your take on new and old products, and to see what the finished product looks like after application. I've followed your channel for 2 years now, and while many of the other channels I watch are specifically for the 50+ crowd (I'm 53), I think what I enjoy most about your channel is that it feels like I'm hanging out with a friend and chitchatting about makeup. I often think it would be helpful to see a video of “product matches made in heaven” where you pair specific eyeshadow palettes with specific blush colors, etc that would compliment them. I always prefer a get ready with me video while I am doing my own makeup. I also enjoy the part of my day where I can slow down and just enjoy the makeup process. I love videos like this. Seeing you test products and hear what you’re expecting or hoping for, hear how you’d try something different if it doesn’t perform well the first time, etc I also come to RU-vid for GRWM, declutters, ranking videos, makeup/beauty chats, behind the scenes stuff, project pans. I also loved to see the video you did about brands to could do a full face - it felt a little rushed, so I’d love to see a dedicated video on each brand with you actually using the products.

I consistently come to RU-vid to watch YOU, Emily! I watch every single video you upload, and that's all I need for my makeup fix. I don't do Instagram, Tiktok or Facebook. I haven't gotten into Tik Tok at all and don't really like YT "shorts" either, but I'm an older viewer so not into the latest social media trends. I started watching you and other You Tube beauty creators from the early days, like 2009-ish, and that's where my heart still is. I come mostly for detailed reviews. Will watch "get ready" videos but not my absolute favorite. I still just love watching reviews the most! Short Tik Tok-style videos are SO short that they end almost before they start.

I, too, prefer long form content that is upbeat, relaxing and relatable. My favorites are collection type videos (with a few swatches) such as rankings, comparisons, reviews, or declutters of categories like palettes, one-and-done singles, blushes, bronzers, lip categories, etc. Anything that shows your wonderful collection (new and old products) and reminds me to dig back out my same (or similar) products! Hi Em, I usually watch a youtube video as I am getting ready in the morning. If there is a new video from you, it is always my first choice to watch as I am doing my makeup. I come to You Tube for longer content. When I want to get lost in one video, for a while. One topic, one person, just more than 3 min can do. 3 min can be fine too, but I prefer to have longer videos to hold my attention. I don't always watch a video as soon as I see the notification though... 🤔 If I'm busy, sometimes it will take 2 days even, but it stays in my mind and I will watch every single video you post, at somepoint! Regardless of the topic or content, I just don't always watch it when you post it. Sometimes I'll let three collect and then come in and watch all three back to back. Because it extends how long I can watch you. Hope that makes sense? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love your content because YOU love your content! Your love of makeup and passion for what you are doing is why we are enthralled with you and your channel! ❤😊❤ It's not the content your talking about, it's YOU talking, that we want to see, your point of view, your opinions, the products are much less important to me. I may be old school but I’m not a fan of tiktok. I follow a small group of people on RU-vid and I watch during nap time or while I run. Social media can be time consuming, sometimes a little annoying, and even depressing so I try not to spend a lot of time on it. However, my notifications for your channel are on and I get excited when they pop up on my phone because I know soon I’ll be watching an Emily video.
