In this episode we get to know the title track from Robert’s most recent album from 2017. Ably supported by The Sensational Space Shifters, it's another whirling blend of sounds and atmospheres, but lyrically it's a mysterious one. There’s definitely a romantic heart within the song somewhere, but who is it beating for? And why?
This season will be accompanied by a limited edition vinyl single box set which collects 16 tracks from across his solo career across eight 7” singles. Pre-order now: lnk.to/RP_Digg...

''A sad thud of an old heart''? Oh, no, never! The soul can be old, but a heart doesn't, is forever young! Also, the brain can overthink but the heart always knows the truth! Your loving and romantic nature so beautiful and wild is visible in every word, every rhyme, every song you ever wrote or sang. So, please Sir, respect your heart as we respect You as a human being, Man, Artist and everything else you became because of all the above and so much more. I love these Podcasts! I can't wait for the next one! Thank you!

I remember the critics saying Robert Plant couldn't sing. Hah! I guess they had to criticize for job security. How wrong they were! Here is more proof that this man has pure talent. I have so enjoyed these Podcasts. This song is beautiful beyond words! Thank you Mr Robert Plant for sharing these pieces of yourself with us. We, your fans, are still here and are still very interested in what you are doing and of course what you have to say about it all!

Love "Carry Fire", so relatable. It's rare to find the sadness and poignancy combined with such rhythmic fire. You have that fire, Robert, may it ever burn brightly ❤

This song is pretty damn amazing. Lyrics interpreted by the listener can often be incorrect. Looking forward to Mr. Plant's insight on this one. Beautiful track that I listen to while offroading my Jeep as well as others. Beautiful and soothing. His voice in all its many variations all these years has been an absolute joy to listen to.

One of the best things I've heard all year; the song itself ~ and proof points re: "how to 'make' music that way" ~ is impactful for the future of rock & "approach" to music creation. That said, Robert's a timeless artist: imaginative, instructive, inspiring, real, of good humor and collaboration ~ and British: "That'll do" :D lol lol Appreciate x 1,000,000 !

Stop being so hater. As John Lennon said: don’t hate what you don’t understand. Is just different tastes. Some people like Justin, Taylor Swift and others don’t but is completely fine, no need to hate.

Thanks for posting, I am in need of music that is new to my ears. yes...southern Morocco or the valley of Roses is beautiful, personal I need to be as near to the ocean as possible, if not in it. Were I blessed with three weeks off and the beauty of a place to go ohhhh the things Id paint. Instead I'm in a house reeking of sewage. For you my prayer is that you keep making music with those true brilliant artists who have proven to be the sort able to flow creatively, lovers of music as an art and understanding that each member of the body of work plays in such a way as to enhance one another. Flowers bloom in the fullness of their own nature. True musicians are this way as well. Neutrally zoned recording studios for live sessions if the need be home yet away. May there always be made a way to connect the true music makers no matter from where they hail. Many have been life savers and heart strengtheners. There is no reason for sorrow when love transcends time and the smallest act that is done with a greater love than many good deeds done from common sense will always cover over much. The end of torment and total horseshit is the beginning of all yet to come and music with instruments which have yet to be. The old songs are never lost nor would any be thrown away...there is a repository of the stuff so vast and it will need steerage and loving experts to steward it - thankfully not my area.

In the quiet place of stillness, between the sometimes painful contractions of life, one finds gentle sweetness in moments…..Like flakes of snow falling onto an upturned face they dissolve on contact with the warmth of the skin. Randomly woken from a Dream one morning with the sound of “The Rain Song” in my head almost 5 years ago when I first moved to Longformacus. The song had always confused my feelings so that for a moment I didn’t’ know whether I was going to laugh or cry, throw up or orgasm. Years later, I think it was Dave Grohl also said something similar about the song. I wanted to know what it was about that sound and lyric that does that? It led me into an interest in the effects of sound on the Physical, Emotional, Psychological, Spiritual, Light body. Rain in all its forms allows the release of emotions as does the sound of a trickling stream, a flowing river or the experience of being by the sea. The fall of snow allows the gentle release of emotions, but at the same time with one’s acceptance of personal life events. Time slows down and a safe space is provided in the soft silence that accompanies the blanket of snow on the land so that we may process and focus what requires to be healed in our lives. As we enter the time of Winter, and darkness as the days grow shorter, life returns to the earth, Gaia’s womb and a time of deep reflection. As we descend we may look upon the peak of the white capped mountain ahead from where we observe the wider perspective of ones own life. It is a place to find forgiveness in oneself as well as in others. To understand and except that we are All hurt, damaged in some way or another, that we All unintentionally hurt others including those we love or once loved if we have lived our life following the true callings of our hearts. Each of us play a part in the collective evolution of these souls that we come into contact with in each life time, with each relationship. When we become aware of this insight it teaches us Love at its highest level, Compassion. It teaches us Compassion for our selves and compassion for others. Those who ‘Carry Fire’ within their souls are Blessed for they embrace the dance of the flame, they have great courage in that they know how to follow their hearts, they are the children of the Sun. I may have travelled a different road in life, but I understand “The Way”. As Robert says there is no solution, no resolve. There is only hope of a life well lived embracing the rise and falls, the pain and loses as well as the success and personal achievements brought by the Truth of one’s own being. That is our unique gift, its what we personally bring to our place on Earth until our time is done and our inner flame is called back home. Meanwhile, the darkness of winter, slows us down and allows us time to think about what we really desire in the coming months as we prepare for the new beginnings of springtime where we may approach the ‘May Queen’ with intention, our inner flame reignited we ask her to bring us new life in the forthcoming year. We watch our Hopes, Dreams and Inspirations spin gently like coracles in the vast Sea of the Unconsciousness waiting to come ashore and birth themselves into this reality, (Deep sea pearl diving is far more rewarding than Bingo!) whilst others spin off to unknown places or destinies in another time or place. The sounds of Carry Fire take me back to a life in the Temple of Isis in Ancient Greece and Istanbul and the Hagia Sophia. There is something special and magical in how someone can take you to a place, that no one else has ever done before. I Love the Great Mystery in that. Literally moved to tears by Seasons Song as I see my own mirrored reflection, There is indeed Peace in a solitary life, time to be alone and at one with life, (Ten years Gone).... however to find Love again? To “Dance with you tonight” as you feel the pulse of time and that desire to maintain the dance, for life to go on as there is so much still to do, to learn, to experience. They say that the first Love in youth is the best Love of all that we never forget the first one, but what do we really know about Love in our youth? To know “Love” in ones self and in all its forms and then to 'claim' the Archetypal Warrior King or Boudica that sits at your side in the later part of your life after all one has been through, must surely be the best Love you have ever known. Somethings are well worth waiting for. Nature is persistent in her deep desire for change, it is welcomed here like standing in the rain of a monsoon after years of drought in the desert. Those of us who are deeply connected to Nature see the numerous deeper connections and observe the patterns and cycles of life. We literally feel the changes before we even see them. We feel the continuous rap-rap tapping like a seemingly random branch from The Tree of Life blowing against the door or window. We hear it deep in our souls, like a soft whispering voice that gets louder as it comes into being. We see the signs that are written on the walls of derelict buildings, and appear in the dark woods. We hear the voices of the ancestors as they sit round the same fire guiding our way until we are brought before our own personal Gods and Goddesses with the sound of laughter and Love in our souls, for our souls know the way. Love is the only law…….

Man, I just heard a wild story, not sure but the story claimed Dylan sold his sole or soul, one of those spellings. I don't know. How about the "Fantastic Ice cream Scoopers" Now that I think of it, according to the Vision, there is a spiritual realm, I've been dealing with it. Sounds like something the mummy would sing, maybe, to his lost queen searching infinity. There's no way I could do what you guys do, at this point. Good show
