I cleared out a small shed for a neighbor and found his father's Bible he carried as a child. Carnival glass bowls, Ford wrenches, and a box of Indian Head pennies. I would enjoy digging through cars for treasures all day long.

Hollander Interchange? In the 60s, when you could still repair vehicles yourself, that manual was the best manual telling you what auto parts from one vehicle would fit another. Definitely pre computer!

Hi Silas, I loved that video. Just last week I cleared out an old garage on a customers property. There were some really neat old truck lights, old tools and an old pot bellied stove. In the roof space were a bunch of old hexagon fishing rods too.

Silas, at little past nine minutes in you came across a hollander parts exchange. I don't know what that book costs but the ones I had back in the fifties and later up to the eighties... just to buy one new was over five hundred dollars as they told just about any rig that you look up what parts from other cars also fits. Like say a fuel pump for the family chevy six.... it told you every car out there that used that same part and then the part number should you go to the parts store. I am sure there are people that should want it as its really unique and just a not hardly found but then me out of this game for yeas, maybe that has changed.

I remember that old box van I was the one that hauled it in me and a buddy and let me tell you that was one hell of a trip got showered and brake fluid trying to get the brakes to work wheel locked up got destroyed on the process of getting there but it got there and I guess Silas made a video on it which is pretty cool so hopefully he found all what he wanted in there cuz we didn't look through it too much we pretty much just hooked a chain up and drug it in

You've referred several times to the shredder, and shredding vehicles. Might we get to see that? I know it may not be part of your operation, but would it sure would be fun to follow some of the stuff from your crusher to shredder, or even stuff you don't crush, but send/take to the shredder.

Hi silas I've got an idea for your youtube. When you get a full junk truck see how much you can make out of it. Ebay, local etc for vintage stuff. Add your fee you get for the truck/car etc add the value you get for the car, add money you find. And make a competition out of it. Eg. Just bought a van loaded with stuff I'm gonna list the contents. Sold the contents for $250 sold the scrap for $100 and found $3.81 in change etc. Up to you give it a go. I'd watch it 😁

Always interesting to see things other scroungers leave behind, that I would see as a no brainer to keep. I'm getting ready to rent a u-haul box truck, if it runs would have preferred to just spend that money on something old, and cheap like this one. Looks perfect for my needs.

Those Chilton books are worth stuff I know lot's of guys including myself that is into collecting car manuals and that I have a nice collection of books that I got from yard sales and auctions and old book stores and second hand stores. Some of them are going for good money on Ebay and such that I got for free or a quarter to a couple bucks. Anything automotive sells but you may have no time for it

You do some very fun things Silas. That pile of someone's trash would be a gold mine to me. I am a collector of anything vintage. As an old school mechanic from a time when we repaired instead of replace I have a large collection of old repair manual's. I like old hardback blue cover Motor's manuals the best. License plates are actually my favorite to collect although I like anything automobilia related. My oldest license plate is a 1917 Arizona. I probably have 200 vintage plates left in my collection after trading some off off for other cool stuff. Can you give me your Ebay site info so I can check out what you have listed. I have been buying and selling on there since 1999. I have a 500 plus positive rating. Keep up the good work my friend.
