Firstly I’m glad that you were able to do a panel at one of the biggest conventions out there. It’s actually funny because I met you last year at ColossalCon East and I definitely had fun at your panel and the convention in general. Plus it was awesome getting to talk to you and just chill when we ran into each other. As for the franchise I actually think it’s wild that people are claiming that Digimon is dying in terms of activity because honestly I don’t see Bandai actually stopping with releases. Honestly I think the main issue is that sometimes Bandai or whoever manages the Digimon brand does tend to fumble at times especially in the west (see the Digimon Adventure 2020 dub’s initial distribution and how the Digital Monster X 2’s translation was mixed up originally) but I don’t think the Digimon brand is completely dead in either part of the world. Especially since I see people buying more and more virtual pets and a lot of people our age are revisiting the franchise or getting into it for the first time. Even kids of this generation are looking into it. Heck if anything I’d say that more people are looking into it now and also looking past the initial idea that it’s a “ripoff” of Pokemon and seeing that it has its own ideas and themes to it.

I feel like what Digimon needs right now is a TTRPG that combines ideas from Survive (anime), Cyber Sleuth (RPG) and Next Order (V-Pet) - creating a powerful engine for fan content.

Can confirm the Otakon panel was cracked! No exaggeration at all, no other 9am panel had a line, just our boy! My friend and I were in the front row for the panel and the entire room was full. I'm glad the panel was so successful, everyone had a blast!!!

There's also the new 02 BE dims that are coming out to tie in with the upcoming movie! Also the card game is selling really well. As for the games, I expect news in Digimon con 2024. And I wouldn't be surprised if we get an anime not too long from now. I think they're using the "run for the money" anime to test how much other brands will sell the vital bracelet when compared to Digimon, since Digimon has been the only series to actively advertise it before. But the vital bracelet already is so closely connected to Digimon, that I can't see that other anime selling more than Ghost game or Seekers would. Plus, Digimon is getting more dim cards than any other franchise.
