Digimon Liberator Episode 1 (Read Along + Reaction) 

I'm definitely giving Yu-Gi-Oh vibes and I'm digging it.

The world in liberator would be perfect for a real video game. With those npc guys being able to force a batlle and the way the Digimon run around so far,I'm picturing a game where u run around the digital world, battling npcs and exploring.

So far, this comic already looks fire. Can't wait for the next episode!

This got even more into the card game that I expected, which is good. My expectations were just how they used the cards in tamers with the protagonists just throwing random power ups lol

i had the same reaction as you did when i read it the first time. it also gives me big yugioh vibes form when they were in pegasus island. I really like it, specially the whole art style that they are using. I like this format of you reacting to it and i hope that you continue doing it to hear your opinions of the next episodes.

Given the resurgence of Digimon in the last few years it's nice to see a webtoon based on the card game especially how it stays close to the rules. Art looks nice and it's part of this webtoon popularity wave so I'm with it.

The artwork is completely amazing.

Unfortunately, the P in Pteromon is silent. This was nice. Honestly, this is giving more of a Futurecard Buddyfight vibe than a Yugioh one. The Digimon are more like Buddy monsters where there’s the ones made for the game and the real ones which can form a contract with whoever pulls their Buddy rare card, allowing them to appear in the human world. The Digivices being Deck boxes in this are also a big comparison as, in Buddyfight, all players with Buddy monsters are given a core gadget to house their deck. The difference between the two is that, in the original series, the core gadgets became items unique to the fighter. eg the Magic world player Tetsuya was a dancer with a love of music so his core gadget became a set of headphones that he could play music in.

I found it better to read if I zoomed out a lot so you can view more of the page like a comic.
